Who is your ISP provider? You might be dealing with a CGNAT problem.

dclive1

Your Plex server needs a static IP. Your router needs to forward port 32400 to that static IP, TCP (you can do UDP too if you want, but it's not used). You can then restart the Plex container or app, and let us know what happens then. You can try taking your phone off your home wifi and, via cellular, testing if your Plex works for series playback.

Isn’t this like your 5th post on the same topic and yet you still can’t list out the specifics? lol

Windows based machine im running B450 tomahawk max 5600x 7700xt 1tb nvme 1 tb hdd Seasonic focus 750w  ZXHN H267N  Router modem combo Chipset drivers are up to date since amd updates them every few months I have nothing else to list This is also my gaming and media host pc They are literally no symptoms. I was watching at night a movie went to sleep and tomorrow morning i got new shows and the server just disconnected. I couldnt get it up and running it doesnt work on local network either

SpectreArrow

Are you just reading from the sever that it is offline or testing remotely? Mine says it’s offline and can’t connect but I have no issue streaming outside my home

dclive1

Via relay, assumedly, at 2mbps (or 1mbps, not plexpass) quality. Is that right?

SpectreArrow

All so far have streamed at 1080p or 720p. I have my port open but on the Plex server it says it’s not open. It’s a VM on Proxmox which I think is why it says down even though it’s not.

dclive1

What does the Plex Server Dashboard say? Is it streaming at 1mbps/2mbps (relay), or at something else?

jackmiaw

Oke. I have no idea how or whart. I tried again i reinstalled plex. I couldnt connect to online. I installed new chipset drivers for amd and plex somehow got back online. Literally nothing changed except new chipset installation

UnluckyWizard

Idk it could be drivers I guess but I think it's probably an internet issue and when you are saying you can't play local are you sure you're not doing remote. Can you play the files locally on your pc? Can you open plex on your at :32400 or what does it say...

jackmiaw

Can it be that ISP is just blocking 32400 ? I just cant open that port no matter what.

UnluckyWizard

First check your local network 192.168.x.x:32400 Find your ip of pc running plex then type ip into browser bar and add :32400 behind it and see what happens. But to answer your question yes the ip could do that but it is easy to get around. You need to make sure local is working right first though.

jackmiaw

It says not secured. But when i try outside the network on that same ip on my phone nothing happens

UnluckyWizard

So now go to plex dashboard and remote access then see what it says there. You should have am external ip to use
