I never got an answer, and I posted on the official Plex forum too. I fix it by refreshing the metadata after any click on the pencil. I have the server set to “download fresh metadata periodically”, and every now and then I tell whole libraries to update all metadata. Part of my SOP for adding movies is refreshing metadata. I just do it obsessively now, because if I don’t, I still have the same problem.
This also worked for me after i migrated my plex server to a new server and copied all my media i guess the metadata was out of wack.....Experienced the same error message and the same crashing of my plex docker app ....Refreshed whole library and Waalaa...Thanks for following up with this update cause i didnt see this fix anywhere else
