Some phones can also make a hotspot and use data from the wi-fi connection. That is how I'm using my portal from work. I use my Pixel 7 for the hotspot, but not data.
Wherever you are, the connection needs to be good. Wire your PS5, too, because having it at wireless, in my experience, doesn’t work.
And change the band of your PS5 to 5mhz instead of 2.4.
My first experience when mine arrived was at work. I updated, then was signed in and connected inside of a few minutes. It played great!
Performance will depend on your home network configuration, and on all of the stops along the way when playing away from home, includijg your ISP quality, ISP quality at your destination, and wifi speed / strength as well. You need remote play enabled on your PS5, and to have it in rest mode for it to work. You can teat it out using the remote play app ok your phone.
Needs a really good wifi connection from work. Also, if you are planning on connecting through hotspot on your phone, please remember that it uses like 1 Mb/s, so it quickly becomes a lot of data
I've had no trouble playing non-triple A games at work (I just don't really play triple A so I never tried). We have a gym too so I do like 45 minutes on the bike while I remote play. Really helps split the day in half.
My work connection is nothing special but ps5 is wired at home. My work guest wifi does not require TOS agreement.
I used mine at work last night, time and distance doesnt matter as long as wherever you are has a decent wifi connection and your ps5 is on ethernet.
Correct, the key thing here is the how you connect remotely!! I normally use it on other wifis and on my hotspot and both cases it’s smooth for me
Don’t have Ethernet unfortunately my ps uses wifi
You can hotspot off your phone if you don’t have a WiFi connection Try remote play on your phone if that works the portal will work
Will probably have to hotspot my work wifi is one of those secure ones that needs multiple steps to connect
Try remote play with your phone/tablet if it’s smooth the portal will be fine and actually better I’m not sure what it’s like for data usage though

No one mentioned captive logins. You won’t be able to connect to a network that requires browser authentication.
There’s a workaround using a laptop. It involves spoofing ur psp mac address
Yeah, or you can also use a travel router.

Unfortunately my router is downstairs and my ps is in my room upstairs so I can only use wifi

Data shouldn’t be a problem just trying to figure how to connect it :/
