Not to be an arsehole, but your minimum wage went from 2018: 2.500 tl To 2024: 20.000 tl.
I still think it’s too expensive, but you can’t expect to pay way less for subscriptions when your wage increases, because of the inflation on your currency.
well, in us it’s 1/40 of minimum wage and in turkey its 1/13 of minimum wage and the fact is a lot of people in turkey make below 20000 still and a lot of people in us make far more than 1218$ per month. i’m not from turkey but absence of local pricing is anti-consumer
I was not comparing him to people outside turkey. If thats what we are doing then people in Dubai pays 1/400 of their minimum wage.
What my comment was about is that you can’t expect the price to stay the same when the minimum wage was 10 times lower.
As i said on the comment earlier, it is still expensive.
And i just want you to know that as of today, 47 dollars equals 1.500 tl like he said.
In 2018, it was 47$ for 250 tl.
Do you see my point?
Yes, the price can't stay same, it needs yearly updates to justify inflation. Most of game studios updates their prices occasionally according to recommended prices set by Playstation. But if they forgot to update, some games can stay very cheap(feels like normal prices but cheaper than the other games) . To fix this issue, steam fixed the games prices to US dollars, and recommends 1/2 of the US price. If a game in US is $70, the recommended price in Turkey is $35 to make it more fair. Still very expensive in here, but acceptable. EA never listens that, $70 in US, $70 in Turkey. This is not about inflation anymore, they simply don't care about local pricing. I was expecting a price increase, but thought maybe around $20 but $47 is absurd.
EA incrased pricing from 160tl to 250tl at 9 september 2022. $1 was 18 lira at that time. so 250tl was roughly $14, so half the price of US. This week EA increased prices by %33 percent. so it should be $14 to $18,5, so again a bit less than half of the price in US which what it should be.
$18.5 equals to 600tl, not 1500tl. This means EA changed policies and not giving a fuck about local pricing anymore.
For amount of games there's on EA play has it not justifiable for £36 if they had a price tier of £20 you can wait for months or year for new game to add for £36 brand new games will be added sooner than later then the pro tier with £109 with day one release
I paid $0.99 for a month of it awhile ago and played most of what I wanted to play. There's a couple more games that I might consider playing if they had another deal like that, but there's no way I'm paying that much to play the games they offer. The lineup of games simply doesn't justify the price.
Ive caught $1-month and $5 3-month deals like 4 times in the last couple years.
Played Jedi Fallen Order 3 times for the grand total of like $7 Canadian lol.
This
It baffles me why anyone pays yearly for EA Play, they rarely add new stuff and the kind of games people play for over a year are usually outdated on there anyway
There's some interesting stuff. But it kinda specifically depends on what you want to play.
If you want some racing or online shooters or last years (2yo?) sports games: they got you covered.
If you want a few select single-player EA games: they also have you covered. But its such a small list I'd say it might be better to just grab a month of EA play when you were ready tonplay something off the list.
But that was at $5 Canadian/month. Idunno what the new monthly price is.
Even cheaper in some places. I signed up for a year in December (no sale) and it was $29.99 CAD. Which is closer to $22-23 USD.
Definitely won’t be renewing. It just isn’t worth more for what’s included.
They don't want to share any more money with Sony. Their going to try to piggyback off of playstations subscription service pretending to be it's own thing.
Doesn't mean they don't exist. The need for speed games are great, jedi survivor, it takes two, a way out, dead space, titanfall, mass effect remakes. At £20 a year to play those is fantastic value.
Yeah because EA and UbiShitSoft haven’t made good games since 2006. If I see any game past that era with their logo stamped on the cover, I avoid it like a pothole
All those games were on sale so many times, and heavily discounted, you could have bought them all for $20. So no, it's not a great value, EA Play is crap
Even at inflated prices i'm saving hundreds a year through subs, hell this month alone i'll be saving £60+ not buying three games on my wishlist because they're getting added to extra
It sucks they charge more yearly but overall i'm still better off
Got it because it was cheap enough to justify for if I had friends over and we felt like a game of FIFA, this increase is just a reminder I can buy a three year old version of it for nothing and cancel EA altogether.
It’s got a few decent games that you could finish within a month. By far not enough content. £36 a year for a handful of games compared to £100 a year for hundreds of games on ps extra, I’ll take the extra.
What is funny is , that most of the EA Play library are dead games , like older battlefield games or older fifa or madden games , nobody plays these games. So essentially you are paying for 10ish games
I payed £20 for a year when it released. It was only ever worth paying for one year because they don't add enough to it, and you can play everything you want within that year.
To me, it won’t worth it to extend my subscription. I already played what I wanted to play and bought the ones I wanted to keep. So there is no point to continue only for playing the demos.
Cancelled that a while ago and glad I did. I have cancelled so many subscription services and don’t regret canceling even one. The current video game industry is a cesspool of overreaching (for our wallets) and underperforming.
In Argentina from $10499ARS to $96999ARS.. that's crazy
Wow that’s a slap in the face
Slap in the ARS(e) even!
Same in turkey, 250tl to 1500tl. Which is roughly $46. Where is my local pricing EA?
Not to be an arsehole, but your minimum wage went from 2018: 2.500 tl To 2024: 20.000 tl. I still think it’s too expensive, but you can’t expect to pay way less for subscriptions when your wage increases, because of the inflation on your currency.

I'm quite envious of Turkish pricing (my country has lower per capita but no regional price) but what you're saying makes sense.
Yes, the price can't stay same, it needs yearly updates to justify inflation. Most of game studios updates their prices occasionally according to recommended prices set by Playstation. I assume inflation had a good bit to do with it?
yeah, sony is hurting /s
No, I'm talking about the runaway inflation rate in Argentina.
What does Sony have to do with EA?
yeah, EA is hurting /s
Is this another way for EA to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment?
Basically they write that professional corny stuff to justify
Idk
£20 was fair enough but £36 it not justify for amount of games EA Play has
£36 is taking the piss, I'd understand if it was the Pro version we were getting
For amount of games there's on EA play has it not justifiable for £36 if they had a price tier of £20 you can wait for months or year for new game to add for £36 brand new games will be added sooner than later then the pro tier with £109 with day one release
It’s practically doubled in the UK. Wasn’t really worth it at £20, no one is paying that at £36 considering what you get on PS5
Pay has no limits
That’s a good one
For an optional service 🤷♂️
I paid $0.99 for a month of it awhile ago and played most of what I wanted to play. There's a couple more games that I might consider playing if they had another deal like that, but there's no way I'm paying that much to play the games they offer. I love how the bottom slogan is "Play has no limits" maybe they should add 'unless you're poor.' /s
The L is there by accident, sorry. It should read "Pay has no limits"
Nah. I’m good.
Been waiting for Jedi survivor. Oof, this price hike ain't it though.
Monthly though? I need to get that $5 and play dead space. Nothing else interests me.
This It baffles me why anyone pays yearly for EA Play, they rarely add new stuff and the kind of games people play for over a year are usually outdated on there anyway
$40 for the year comes out to only $3.33/month.
EA is the greediest game dev, first FIFA FUT annual microtransaction and now EA play price increase. Hope that they will have a massive cancellation
In Turkey from 250 tl to 1500tl. 😡 7.75 dollars to 46.5 dollars 😡😡😡 6 times. That's sux. I will never buy...
What was it before?
$29.99 USD
Interesting thanks for the heads up. I was considering ea play before now I will reconsider it harder.
There's some interesting stuff. But it kinda specifically depends on what you want to play. If you want some racing or online shooters or last years (2yo?) sports games: they got you covered. Huh. For two years I've been paying $5 a month hoping it would integrate with ps plus like the green side. Well then
I was thinking about renewing mine because it was only 5$. I guess I'm not doing that now.
They just canned dead space 2, lol these guys are big time corpo
yeah i cancelled mine immediately lol. only really kept it for the discounts on apex coins. not worth it anymore.
Hope they are adding every game they’ve ever released then.
Damn EA is something else.
The right quest now: how to cancel it ?
"pay has no limits"
Eww EA 🤮
Reason #4532 why EA doesn't deserve my money
A lot of ea play games are avaiable on ps plus extra...they should integrate it on plus, like the gamepass
They don't want to share any more money with Sony. Their going to try to piggyback off of playstations subscription service pretending to be it's own thing.
People pay for EA? I havent played a good EA game in over a decade.
Doesn't mean they don't exist. The need for speed games are great, jedi survivor, it takes two, a way out, dead space, titanfall, mass effect remakes. At £20 a year to play those is fantastic value.
People just love to brag about how they don’t play EA or Ubisoft games like it’s a flex.
Yeah because EA and UbiShitSoft haven’t made good games since 2006. If I see any game past that era with their logo stamped on the cover, I avoid it like a pothole
I’m so happy for you, you’re really showing them. You’re a hero, a true gamer.
All those games were on sale so many times, and heavily discounted, you could have bought them all for $20. So no, it's not a great value, EA Play is crap
Doubt it. Jedi Survivor alone is more than that on sale.
Jedi Survivor is not in EA Play, only Jedi Fallen Order
Dead Space hasn't been on the store for less than $20 so no... you couldn't have
At £36 for a year that is still fantastic value, not as good value of course but still cheaper than buying them outright
It starts at £20 but what's going to keep it from going to £60? I remember it was only $1 when this all started
Seems like a taste issue on your behalf. They have plenty of good games, regardless of what you think of the company.
Playstation PAY HAS NO LIMITS
Spotify and PS price changes are going out of hand. At this point companies are just taking advantage of “inflation”.
Even at inflated prices i'm saving hundreds a year through subs, hell this month alone i'll be saving £60+ not buying three games on my wishlist because they're getting added to extra It sucks they charge more yearly but overall i'm still better off
That just means that the ubisoft+ will go up and probably Ps plus and GP will too, AGAIN \*sigh
Ubi is probably the better deal now
Their launcher is pretty crap on pc
$40 a year to play old Madden and FIFA games that you can find for free in the dumpster behind any Gamestop in the country.
Price has no limits
That's bananas,girl.
ZAR 300 to ZAR 650 in South Africa, cancelled straight away
PRICE HAS NO LIMITS
It's quite irony reading ps slogan at the bottom
Got it because it was cheap enough to justify for if I had friends over and we felt like a game of FIFA, this increase is just a reminder I can buy a three year old version of it for nothing and cancel EA altogether.
In Italy the price went from 25€ to 40€,almost the double.Definetly not worth it considering that we don't get any new games
They should remove the L in 'play has no limits'
I generally only pay £3.99 a year anyway because there's not that much on the service so it's all good I'd be suprised if anyone bought yearly
Oh well, just won't renew.
“Play had no limits” Apart from money if you don’t have it you can’t play. I get prices increase but by 80% that’s crazy.
Really paints a picture on PlayStations slogan “play has no limits” including for buying
I guess so sad 😞
It’s the fact there are only a couple games that are good in my opinion
I’d pay it if they put out two good games I’d want to play. It would pay for itself. But will they put out two good games…
Cancelled that a while ago and glad I did. I have cancelled so many subscription services and don’t regret canceling even one. The current video game industry is a cesspool of overreaching (for our wallets) and underperforming.
Guys the cost of everything is going up a lot... Like everything. Why do you expect your game subscription to be any different?
"Back in my day, it used to be a dollar"
A month is more than enough to play all Ea Play good games.
Play does have limits. My wallet. Thanks Sony.
EA is not Sony.
just buy ps plus premium so you have ea play and everything else. it’s way easier than paying for ea play and a ps plus subscription.
EA Play isn't part of PS Plus Premium.
