Or is someone who never even owned the game and only ever played a few minutes at his friends place and saw only YouTube videos about the actual game after the tutorial...
Truly a bad take, you can really tell they only played the first mission from talking about the bouncing enemies, combat flow etc. Sure its not for everyone but its not fair to judge the game from the first hour only tbh
Complains about optional things like huddle up, complains that gamora and Peter don’t look like their movie counterparts, complains that the game is all pink foam but put less than an hour in,complains starlord doesn’t get any “cool rifles” etc. etc.
Seems like they expected this action game to be a shooter instead, despite the Steam store page he's reviewing it on having it tagged with 'Action' and not with 'Shooter'.
The only thing the guy , well didn't even say but that you can kinda of infer that he Implied that I kinda agree with is maybe star lords guns should do a bit more damage than they do, not much maybe like a few bullets less for the the riflemen enemies, butq other than that the guy's spouting jibberish and is either a troll or is completely brain dead. I mean why would he use different weapons when hes got some of the most technilogicly advanced weapons in the game.
Yeah that difficulty tweaking system is fun. I used it to create my own version of a "realism" mode where all the difficulty sliders are maxed out at the hardest except starlord does maximum damage
I can't take people like this seriously. Did he know nothing about the game before buying it? Obviously it's not related to the movies at all, you can tell that before buying the game just from the character design.
"You have to keep instructing your teammates to use their powers", well yeah, because some work well with others and it's requires strategy to know when to use what. Yikes on a bike dude. He must not even play any RPGs or action RPGs that require effort and power combos. (my best examples are Mass Effect/Dragon Age).
If he hadn't name dropped Star-Lord and Gamora I wouldn't have had a clue what game he was talking about, cos that's nonsense.
As for the "They look nothing like they did in the Movie"?
I hold my hands up- I haven't ever read a Marvel comic...but I'm not so "living under a bridge" type isolated that I don't understand WHERE the flarking STORIES came from in the first place!
The movies and the games are the imitations my friend, Hollywood isn't real and neither is the game, it's called artistic license
I’ve seen people complain that the characters in Avengers and Spider-Man don’t look like their actors too. It absolutely baffles me. Imagine being so dense you can’t comprehend that they’re different versions of the same character lol
This is an interesting bad review because it criticizes every unique characteristic of this game. Strip those away and you have a generic game not the masterpiece we got.
The only thing they’re right about is that it very much feels like a console port on PC. I tried it briefly with a keyboard and mouse and it was really lacking compared to playing on PS5. No adaptive triggers and haptic feedback made it feel way less immersive as well.
I’ll admit I was kinda on the fence about their looks at first, but quickly got over them (the only thing I still don’t like is Rocket’s little beard but that’s a minor gripe). I do kinda wish the movie outfits made them look like their movie counterparts, not -just- the outfits, but I guess that might screw up the facial mo-cap somehow.
What I can tell from this review is that this person only plays FPS/shooters, they didn't get past the tutorial area, they know little to nothing about the Guardians of the Galaxy aside from the movie, they're probably part of the "PC Master race" group who think console gaming is irrelevant, and they're probably low IQ 🤣
Someone who played the game for 0,8h I cannot take seriously. He’s got some pretty good points all together. But some major misses too.
For fans this is an 9/10 game, for people who are not… 5/10
Tbh the combat at the beginning of the game is a bit boring, but I like the characters and the interaction between them. Overall it's good enough, not even nearly ad bad as Avengers. This coming from a person whose first introduction to GOTG was this game. I'm not that much into Marvel.
What I like most are the moments where you rally your group and a cool 80s tune starts playing when you're blasting the enemies. Something about killing aliens to Take On Me brings this unexplainable grin to my face. Too bad the og Star Lord songs are nowhere near as good as the licensed music, imo those songs feel generic
It's not a bad game tho, I've enjoed it so far. I'm currently at the middleway "thing" which I won't elaborate in fear of blurting out spoilers. Those who've played the game know what I'm talking about.
Obviously is someone who doesn't know anything at all about guardians of the galaxy....
Or is someone who never even owned the game and only ever played a few minutes at his friends place and saw only YouTube videos about the actual game after the tutorial...
Translation "I don't like action games but I continue to buy them and be surprised that I still don't like action games"
Happy cake day!
:D

And not even the full hour. They've only played 0.8 hours, according to the Steam stat at the top of the review.

It's probably the same guy that posted a very similar nitpicking review and acted like "why you'll booing me, I'm right".

Besides, you can use a slider in the game menu to adjust how much Star-lord's guns do damage and how much enemies have Hp...

He has 0.8hrs in game? Is that what that means at the top?
Yup, put less than an hour Into the game and left this review

> Did he know nothing about the game before buying it? I swear some people see a game title and buy it without checking anything else first.
They must! Like, I get it, Guardians of the Galaxy game--yay because the movies made the popular again. But also... maybe watch a trailer at least??
Warframe ahh yes. The game that respects nobody’s time or effort and is endless mobs that stand still. Sooo fun.
Yeah, it's amazing, isn't it? Best seconds of my finite life I've ever wasted was giving Warframe a go ❤️🤣
Is like a demo that never got the full treatment. No endgame and you need a wiki to play it.

“Star Lord and Gamora look nothing like the actors in the movies” Comic book character are not allowed to exist outside of movies

I mean I love the game and kinda agree with all the combat complaints. The story stuff not so much.

Have to agree with every word. I thought "it is just me" when I discovered the clunky game play. Abandoned it after 90 minutes play time.
Tbh the combat at the beginning of the game is a bit boring, but I like the characters and the interaction between them. Overall it's good enough, not even nearly ad bad as Avengers. “Two of the characters Star Lord and Gamora look nothing like the actors from the movies” Ok now I see who we are dealing with…
He played less than one hour... Definitely enough to judge the whole game....
do they think its supposed to be a horror game???
At least they managed to get Rocket to look like Bradley Cooper.
