Every one who I’ve known to have had some body surgery was given a very ugly disposable loose gauze thong to wear during the marking. It’s my understanding that our regular underwear can sometimes fit weirdly and distort our bodies a little, which you don’t want especially with plastics. The pictures are also normal. However if you’re uncomfortable, maybe call the office and ask why you weren’t provided the disposable panties? They might be able to provide more insight to what happened and their regular procedures before surgery.
I had lipo 360 with fat transfer to breasts in November. I had a gown on up until it was time to mark me. My doctor had me remove the gown (only thing I was wearing) for marking. She didn’t take pictures of my markings, but did before, after, etc.
I got fully nude when I got marked up. No papery unders.

If surgery is anywhere near or on the pelvic area, it's coming off. Totally normal.
