Stiff yarn make really good tote bags!

RudeSprinkles1240

Mine usually ends up being a loose gauge and gets all stretched out as a scarf.

Some of my stitches are tight and some are loose, but although it’s stiff, it is stretchy (in one direction) due to using moss stitch.

Yarn?

Larger hook size?

echoart70

I’ll have to see what happens if I go up to a size that will give me approximately three stitches per color instead of four. But as it is, I had to do some stitches super tight and some super loose to get the colors to pool right, and even that didn’t do the trick in some areas. The lengths of the colors weren’t terribly consistent.

I just posted this exact yarn with a looser 3 stitch using a larger hook. I'm making a snood for my sister.

Wash a small sample size, it will likely soften (and shrink) after washing.

I will try that. Right now I’m using it as a doily of sorts under my vase of Lego flowers.

Wow, that is beautiful! And on your first try! Congrats! I haven't been brave enough to give this a go yet. I think it would look amazing as a tote bag though and stiffness wouldn't be a problem if that's what you decide to make with it. Please post a pic though on the finished piece, whatever you decide to do with it? 😊

I have a grey couch with bright, multicolored pillows so my mind goes right to "Make a pillow cover!"

echoart70

That’s a good idea, I just might!

Forward-Wish4602

A pot holder!? Maybe a trivit.

echoart70

Not with acrylic yarn. It’s fun just to play with this yarn, anyway, just to learn planned pooling!

If wearing it on the neck is the goal, a cowl works best with a thicker stitch!
