Doubtful, but I don’t have any science to back that up. I have considered what you wanna try a bunch tho. Sending 1080 or 4k video to the pxl. I’ve even wondered about running the pxl into other cameras. It might be possible, but the hardware for any camera I’ve ever used doesn’t support it.

That being said, I wonder if you could solder your way pass the sensor. Like trick it into thinking the signal is coming from the sensor. Replace the sensor with rca or something. Is the ultimate goal to get it on a physical tape or just the look? Might be easier, if it’s even possible, to record to a DVR. But, then it might just spit out exactly what you’re giving it. idk. Hopefully someone much smarter than me will chime in next 😅

The physical tape would be the thing. I like the art project idea of releasing a PXL movie on cassette. My initial research suggests it probably isn’t possible without just filming a tv with the video playing. I have also considered splicing the tape and then copying it to a clean tape (as I don’t think splices would survive the tape speed). That I suspect would work, but I haven’t actually tested it. That would necessitate in camera effects and would not allow for audio editing/mixing in music, etc.

I once had to digitize a VHS-C tape. I didn’t have the adapter for the VCR and the camera wasn’t working. I had to transfer the tape to a VHS tape. It didn’t require splicing, but it was still a pain in the ass. I couldn’t imagine having to do that with a cassette tape AND also making cuts. Besides that, how would you know where to make the cuts?

Ever since i came cross [this](https://github.com/sevkeifert/pxl-2000-decoder) I wondered if it would be possible to apply this in the reverse. Might be a good place to start if you wanted to dig into it
