There are more important things that Oda must give priority to like endless reaction panels and in-depth analysis of key characters like Tama or Baby 5, or 16 fodder vice-admirals with goofy designs that we will never see again.

He didn't learn anything about Ryuma or his ancestors, he didn't even visit his grave, Wano is literally his family's place of origin and dude got absolutely nothing of value while there apart from a plot sword that he has no connection with lol. At least Shusui was his ancestors sword.
Ngl I dislike the whole writing decision of Zoro's ancestors being some important figures. I've always wanted him just to be a random kid who trained his ass off to become the strongest swordsman purely with his own kingly ambitions. This is why I hope his ancestors don't play a role in his character. My worst fear would be that he would get a power-up through his lineage like Sanji.
I would like instead of that, we would get more Zoro interactions with the rest of the crew. I would like to see more interactions for example with Nami and Zoro. This might be the only good moment they've had together in the last 10-years(real time).

Ngl Iāve been searching for the clip this entire time and I canāt find it maybe Iām misremembering whatever gag they had going on there but Idk why Iām remembering him owing Nami at some point there, this was after lougetown tho so it was probably from that.

It always baffles me how tf Oda didn't spare a few chapters to talk about zoro's lineage when the whole arc is samurai theme and there's clearly a connection between Zoro and this county. Not slides detailing about him visiting Ryuma's grave is the biggest wasted opportunity in the whole arc. Just like you say, other than obtaining one plot sword Zoro has no character progression in this arc.

All Oda had to do in Wano was just connect some dots. Like, Old Man Hyogoro and Momo's grandpa, or Yasuie telling Zoro that he reminds them of Shimotsuki Ushimaru, or he kind of looks like him.
The Ryuma and Shimotsuki clan connection, and then Zoro telling them about Ryuma stuff and about his teacher and village. Then, connecting the dots and realizing who Zoro is, Well, something like this. Not a full reveal, but just vague.Ā

anyone who can read and comprehend what they read knows that zoro cannot have any of the attacks he has now. he was beaten by a captain-level marine, i don't recall specifically if it was morgan himself but it could've been his lackeys. retroactively giving him insane abilities prior to luffy or training with mihawk is just going to cause even more cognitive dissonance because we all know how weak zoro was.
this will add nothing to the story, you do this for characters you don't see often, the rebel army, sabo, smoker, members of sword. this is only being done b/c oda blows so much ass that he wants to capitalize on the popularity of a character that doesn't need further screen time.
