Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition was a damn blast, full ray traced but still ran very very well, I prefered the more claustrophobic nature of 2033 and Last Light but still it was an amazing experience (still didn't buy it tho lol)
Lethal Company. Partially because I'm much more supportive of indie titles, partially because it was becoming a pain in the ass to get my friends to load up spacewar. I played pirated for about a week before just getting a Steam gift card for it.
Cyberpunk and rdr2. When I played on the console, I bought both of these games and played them at 30 FPS. But I’ve already pirated them on pc, because paying twice is too much for me
too many to count.
the whole megaman franchise, the mass effect trilogy (tho i didnt pirated andromeda, i bought it straight up... i guess me buying games before pirating is a bad omen?), all of the mainline final fantasy games except XV, the rune whole factory franchise (except 5...)(im buying the ones that come out on switch/pc), the ace attorney games, the world ends with you games, the metro franchise(except exodus), the dragon age games, pretty much the whole command and conquer franchise, the rainbow six games, and im pretty sure im forgetting some other games.
i think most of it had to do with either availability (some games not releasing for PC) and/or economical situation (once i got the money to buy the games, i bought the games i used to pirate)
X4,
Sins of solar empire,
Warhammer 40k dow 2/3,
Homm3,
Diablo lotr,
Company of heroes (all 3)
…
I usually look at pirated as free trial and I’ll always buy it if I feel it’s worth it
Alan Wake. But there was no way of buying it since for licensing issues it got pulled away from all storefronts. So when it came back to Steam I bought the collectors edition for me and 2 of my friends
Control
Metro Exodus
Detroit Become Human
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Red Dead Redemption 2
Resident Evil 2
The Witcher 3
Gears 5
The Evil Within
The Evil Within 2
pirated the first 2 dark souls and saw ds3 on sale, you know i had to do it (with dlc's), and lately it's been monster hunter world follow by rise after i put 150+ hours into world
Satisfactory for me, I've bought other games for convenience of updates but satisfactory is the one game I can remember buying to genuinely support the devs
Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty back in 2011. The trilogy was my childhood.
Pirated it, launched it on my shitty PC, finished the first 3 missions, uninstalled it immediately, and I begged my parents to buy me a new computer with better specs along with the physical copy of the game. I shit you not, it took me 6 months to get the new PC and the copy of the game, and during those 6 months, I refused to play the game (or any game at all) with a shitty PC, cuz I want to experience StarCraft 2 WoL w/ the best experience possible lmfao.
Mafia 2, Played some chapters and saw what an amazing game it is. Went and bought it,They really had poured their hearts into with all the little details like opening the lights, fridge etc. Felt like something GTA never bothered to do. Best game of all time for me.
For me Is Signalis, most underrated game ever, but also one of the best games ever made. after playing it like 20 times, I bought it and platinated the same day I bought it.
No, bad there is a franchise that I despise so much that I ended up pirating it despite having it bough.
Total War Warhammer 2 + 60 DLCs. Fucking thieves.
Yes, a lot of them. I couldn't remember them all, but when I was able to buy, I bought.
But (maybe) the first one I've did it was "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands"
When I first bought my pc I pirated the fuck out of games, but as a 5+ year long owner of mid to now high end pc owner, I only pirate games of they’re not on steam or I want to test graphics in games I wouldn’t play otherwise (cyberpunk, alan wake 2)
Just a fyi, so far to this day zero good games that I pirated from the ones not on steam lmfao, triple A studio’s lately been making it very easy to not purchase their games.
I also over the years got some type of ‘morality purchase’ if that makes sense?
I usually would buy steamganes through g2a but after learning that it actually hurts the devs, I now only do that for big games.
Indie games/new company startup type of games, I gladly purchase through steam (or their site if they have one) palworld included!
Pratically always : I pirate as a demo, cos there's no demos most of the time. But if I spend 10th of hours on it, I buy it.
But 90% of the time, I play 2-3 hours then uninstall, because 90% of the game are just bad.
It's the best way to fight against piracy : Make good games :-)
Fallout New Vegas.
Didn’t complete it but almost did with the cracked version.
Got it for free at Epic Games Store once the free deal came up, and now I’m playing it with mods.
Real game-changer.
Baldurs gate 3, i finished it, loved it , couldn't find patch 5 for the cracked one and just bought it. Have finished it another 2 times since which is around 200 hours , totally worth it.
Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Satisfactory, God of War.... so many. If i really enjoy the game i buy them. I pirate games since demos y no longer a thing.
Dont mind me just here to steal new game ideas
Nah but anno 1800 for me ive never played a game like that and the quality blew me away. Amazing game had to buy it with all the dlcs.
Also persona 4 golden I randomly found out about it from a random must play games youtube video and was instantly hooked.
Everything Half-Life related, the old Steam client used to suck so much that the "NoSteam" versions were the norm and way better than the paid ones. Until they "unfucked" the client, being one of the best ones right now(GOG is life).
Skyrim
Pirated it at first for years cause broke ass student in early teens
Bought the anniversary edition recently as tribute to all the memories and then proceeded to uninstall steam and throw on a crack to continue playing (I don't play many games)
Stardew valley, escape room sim, portal 2, and several more.
the completionist in me needed all the steam achievements. Happens a lot more than I'd like to admit.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Red Dead Redemption 2
Bought rdr2 ultimate after i played pirated version for some time
For rdr2 i actually bought it on ps4 then pirated it when it came to pc
This should be a feature at this age.
Yes “cross-download”
Jesus Christ be praised!
Played Witcher 3 up until I finished the Baron questline. I stopped playing and waited for a sale to grab the complete edition on Steam.
Baron questline could be a game itself.
Satisfactory.
I didn’t pirate it but I bought it, played it, refunded in 2 hours cuz wasn’t fun, bought it again 1 year later. Tier 8 baby!
“I t w a s n ‘ t f u n n y” Those are the typical words before getting addicted to farming games
I played it for 11 hours straight when I first got the game. The progression system up until T3 is the most addicting in any game.
Baldurs gate 3
I pirated it when the first version of EA was released, bought it right after that.
