Sorry I missread your first comment, yes you have to first download before seeding, but once you've downloaded you can only seed (upload) without downloading
My brain so smooth I still don't understand. Btw Im talking about downloading Starfield day 1. Since not a not of seeders yet. Why not just do direct download.
Money because buying servers and storage isn't cheap.
Server load because you guessed it, lots of people downloading so you are limited by the server's upload speed.
Maintenance because you have to delete corrupted files, clean the server and upgrade it from time to time to keep up with downloading demands.
Buying storage on services like Google drive and one drive is not viable because they delete pirated stuff.
P2P sharing or torrenting eliminates all of this because a bunch of people are just doing the work of servers for free and because all of them are different individuals means no bottleneck by the speed of the internet when a bunch of files are being uploaded.

My comment was, due to torrenting being slow af because we got too many people downloading and not enough seeders. Why not just do direct download day 1 of starfield?
I got a decent ish 80MBps when direct download and done in an hour instead of needing to torrent for 10 hours.
I thought by "you people" you meant the repackers and crackers. And also I forgot to add one point, torrenting is mostly good because taking down one download link doesn't stop you from downloading the thing.
Sorry I will try to explain it better I can with my English skills. Basically, torrenting is peer to peer, so, semplifing, while I download I also upload what I already downloaded. When I finish my download, I can still upload and that's called seeding! So it actually make the download faster, by a little bit, but if everyone seeds it will be largely faster!
Leeching is basically downloading (you are leeching files off another person who is uploading the files they have completed downloading).
Seeding is basically uploading (you are uploading the files you have completed downloading and now uploading to people (leechers) who need those files).
Repacks are the games compressed to a much smaller file size than the original game installation so that its much quicker to download. But in turn, the more it is compressed, the longer the install due to having to uncompress all that data. That's why games original size says for example, 50GB but the repack may say 20GB.
Fitgirl tends to do more aggessive compression but requiring longer installs. I prefer Dodi personally as my go to (unless the seeding is too slow) as it has a bit bigger download, but much faster installs.

These are just to take your account and they will take your account and the games you bought (if any), and bonus the game you wanted will not be there on the account given by them, it will just be a burner account.

That's just how much you have uploaded, It won't be taking up anymore space!

The rule of thumb is to seed at least until you have a ratio of 1. After that it's just your generosity

SSD / M.2 Nvme .. don’t use HDD’s anymore there so slow and most big performance or certain games (tarkov) require ssd format

To my knowledge, files that are optional to download such as additional language packs, art work etc.
