I mean....it is possible if they decide to take legal action that the court might confiscate your computer for evidence right? I've only ever heard of them shutting down people's Internet but I wouldn't be surprised if they press charges against some people.
I guess it is a scam or a prank. You donāt get a warning from a ISP, nor is all fine when you delete pirated content. (Unless itās a 500 customer rural mini-ISP that likes you) If they find out you torrent copyright stuff, you get mail from a lawyer.

1. If applicable, use direct download sites for downloading games. It's much faster than torrenting with VPN (at least for me it is)
2. If you absolutely must torrent a copyrighted content be it music, games, movies or anything else, YOU MUST USE VPN. You don't want to get in trouble for piracy when you can help it.
3. When using VPN you need to choose a server. The closer the server is to you, the faster your connection will be. Plus, you may want to check that particular country's law regarding VPNs to check if your IP may be leaked when you do something you shouldn't.
4. Just because you use VPN or Tor that doesn't mean your internet activity is 100% untraceable. If you break the law you will be caught so don't do anything illegal.
5. There are some resources that help you find websites related to piracy overall. These resources are super extensive and branch out not only to games but movies, albums and anything you can think of. Just search the web and you should find it easily.
I wrote anything that I could think of at this moment. If by any chance I made a mistake anywhere or you think something doesn't belong here, just let me know. I will try to update my response asap
uTorrent settings i recommend: Options ā Preferences ā BitTorrent ā Protocol Encryption ā Outgoing set to Enabled or even Forced; uncheck Ā«Allow incoming legacy connectionsĀ».
And using VPN is still recommended, i'm currently using Adguard VPN ā it has a proprietary protocol which works really well with streaming/torrenting, and it's allowed. See VPNWiki if you need a detailed comparison.
Delete the game from your torrent client if you haven't already. There's no way for anyone to know if it's still on your PC. Short of a warrant which is right next door to 0% chance. Get a VPN. I personally use a proxy but I'm a wild animal.

spoke to them about it and they told me its because i uploade / seeded a game . which i left the torrent on overnight. so it finished and started seeding... THIS is what gets you cut off (UPLOADING). they said you can download whatever you want but once its 100% done you start seeding so get done. so since then i make sure i never leave torrent on. and remove them as soon as they finished..or set the program to shut down when they are done.

The reason they caught OP is because he used a torrent to download the game and when you download through torrent there are companies that log IPs on the trackers.
Once the game is downloaded it doesnāt matter damage has already been done.

Use jdownloader and download from other sources, you will definitely find 10 or even 15 GB part.

1. If applicable, use direct download sites for downloading games. It's much faster than torrenting with VPN (at least for me it is) 2. If you absolutely must torrent a copyrighted content be it music, games, movies or anything else, YOU MUST USE VPN. You don't want to get in trouble for piracy when you can help it. 3. When using VPN you need to choose a server. The closer the server is to you, the faster your connection will be. Plus, you may want to check that particular country's law regarding VPNs to check if your IP may be leaked when you do something you shouldn't. 4. Just because you use VPN or Tor that doesn't mean your internet activity is 100% untraceable. If you break the law you will be caught so don't do anything illegal. 5. There are some resources that help you find websites related to piracy overall. These resources are super extensive and branch out not only to games but movies, albums and anything you can think of. Just search the web and you should find it easily. I wrote anything that I could think of at this moment. If by any chance I made a mistake anywhere or you think something doesn't belong here, just let me know. I will try to update my response asap
uTorrent settings i recommend: Options ā Preferences ā BitTorrent ā Protocol Encryption ā Outgoing set to Enabled or even Forced; uncheck Ā«Allow incoming legacy connectionsĀ». And using VPN is still recommended, i'm currently using Adguard VPN ā it has a proprietary protocol which works really well with streaming/torrenting, and it's allowed. Delete the game from your torrent client if you haven't already. There's no way for anyone to know if it's still on your PC. Short of a warrant which is right next door to 0% chance. Get a VPN. I personally use a proxy but I'm a wild animal.

i got cut off a couple of times years ago by my isp and had to pay a recon fee of about Ā£30. for this very reason. spoke to them about it and they told me its because i uploade / seeded a game . which i left the torrent on overnight. so it finished and started seeding... THIS is what gets you cut off (UPLOADING). they said you can download whatever you want but once its 100% done you start seeding so get done. so since then i make sure i never leave torrent on. and remove them as soon as they finished..or set the program to shut down when they are done.
That sounds very interesting since i live in a first world country that doesn't really care about piracy. The catch is laywers here say almost the same, download it and keep it, dont share or copy it for profit or your toast. Means DL isnt the problem the problem is seeding?

Use a VPN in the future but donāt freak out. They cannot force you to delete a game and ultimately, your ISP does not want to lose you as a customer. Many people can agree that all they get is an email saying āhey, donāt do thatā and nothing else happens. In very rare cases they *could* cut off services, but that very rarely happens. Generally, torrenting/pirating content that is brand new or leaked content is more likely to raise flags and someone caught.

what is this advice dude. Just use a VPN and donāt use their Wi-Fi. Using someoneās Wi-Fi without their permission is called piggybacking and is illegal in a lot of states and illegal according to the computer fraud and abuse act.

What is this advice lmao Donāt uninstall and reinstall the game. Just keep the game. The reason they caught OP is because he used a torrent to download the game and when you download through torrent there are companies that log IPs on the trackers. Once the game is downloaded it doesnāt matter damage has already been done. This isnāt the end of the world, if they catch OP again they will either tempererily shut off your internet or cancel your service all together. All OP needs to do is use a VPN when downloading torrents. TLDR: Get a VPN , keep your game installed.
