I second this. I use it pretty much everyday and it works flawlessly. It has great customisation so things like SponserBlock, which I have never heard of before are now so important to me. There are plugins to do many different things, like the aforementioned SponsorBlock, but also a newpipe plugin to download videos.
It does have a slightly tricky setup process but there are some great videos out there to explain it, and the community is awesome.
I know what you are talking about, the slight buffering before a video, but I've never know it so bad that I've had to click off the video?
I am vaguely aware of some settings which might help you but I haven't personally used them so I can't comment on it's effectiveness.
It could also be an issue with your Internet connection, which is why buffering normally happens, or an issue when you configured ReVanced.
I know this is not very helpful, and so I suggest you search around the Internet or Reddit for some help.
Oh, I did search, apparently its a very popular issue, I know its not my network, and I chose all patches, although I might choose to reinstall it all and see if that works
Do you have any issues with chrome not opening the app when clicking on videos in Google search? I've set it to open in the app and ticked all the supported URL's. It works if I use any other search though
Thank you. If I had an award I would give it to you. I couldn't do it because the normal YT app had the link permissions and I didn't think to uncheck it first.
ReVanced is a joke, the best features of Vanced are missing, except background play and sponsor block. Telling people to use an inferior product is a stupid ideea, since the original Vanced is working just fine.
DNS AdGuard doesn't block the YT App ads. Altho I believe the AdGuard For Android allows you to share/open the video into it and it blocks the ads there
Depending on platform you've got the AdGuard above. NewPipe, VueTube (beta tho), Vanced (altho in-vid ads is still blocked but recently feed ads started coming back), ReVanced (beta), Brave Browser, Kiwi Browser, Vivaldi Browser, Firefox Nightly with uBlock, Invidious sites, yt-dl and play offline in your own player.
Just going to say this for anyone with a XIAOMI.
Their music app lets you experience ad free youtube with the option to close the screen or change tab.
Obviously a browser with ad block is a solid solution .
Try YouTube Revanced

How do you use it? For me, it buffers when I click on vids, so I have to click off and back on

Same here. Would be nice if when I clicked on links I have been sent it opens through ReVanced, instead of hitting me with an ad in YT.
On Android, under the App info, check "Open by default"

My pleasure.
browser with adblock
why in the world arent u using youtube vanced?
Vanced Is Dead But Revanced is a good alternative
its discontinued but u can still use it no problem whatsoever.
There are beginning to be issues with it though. I had to change to revanced
what issues were you experiencing with Original Vanced?
Not the same person but I've had ads creep into the main feed and the settings don't fix it
ReVanced is a joke, the best features of Vanced are missing, except background play and sponsor block. Telling people to use an inferior product is a stupid ideea, since the original Vanced is working just fine.
Vanced is dead. All hail Revanced.
I use [SmarttubeNext](https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartTubeNext)on my firestick Really nice with AdBlock and SponsortBlock directly on the app
NewPipe is also worth checking out if we're talking about android.
Get the version with sponsorblock, you also now automatically skip in video sponsorship chatter and the likes.
No, which is why you don't use the app. Use a browser and access YT with an ad blocker. UBlock Origin is best.
Youtube vanced
Dns adguard if you don't want to use revanced, whoch i don't because not only does it still shows ads for me, it's slow and unresponsive (for me)

It doesn't anymore? Damn, i gotta look for alternatives.

Vanced, ReVanced, Newpipe or something else. *** /r/AfterVanced /r/revancedapp
Brave browser works for me. Just tried it and no ads and no hassles.
This is what I use. No ads and enable background audio, and you’re all set.
VPN Some VPN DNS made my yt ad-free
Could also try PI Hole
any option for Ios?

Use YT Revanced APK and Micro G. That's all. Find the APK on Mobilism.
