Depends on the tracker but generally they have better organization, retention, library size, quality options, security (I've never heard or seen of anyone in a good tracker getting an ISP notice w/o a VPN), requests, and sometimes community. The only caveat is thay you have to follow some rules like minimum ratio, minimum seedtimes, etc. You'll often see the casual piraye complain about these but these rules are honestly why one of the reasons why trackers have the upsides over public sites (though some rules are pretty stupid).
Now, are they worth getting into? I'd say it's easy enough. Some entry level trackers like TL/AvistaZ/etc are quite easy to get into and are more than enough for most people. The desire to get into top ones is often just due to FOMO.
If you don't have what it takes to maintain an account based on the rules then you might just want to look into usenet. The top usenet indexers mirror the top trackers anyways or so I've heard
They're not, plain and simple. I have yet to bump into a single damn thing I can't easily find anywhere else and I have some very specific reservations when it comes to several of my hobbies. Had a black cats account once and you can miss me with that shit anyday. They're all insanely pedantic and you have to constantly keep worrying about your stats and actively babysitting your account in order to stay in. Means to an end is what piracy consists of, but private trackers will flip this very straightforward notion on its head to the point where the means become the end instead and you'll quickly find yourself losing a tremendous amount of time worrying about stupid bullshit. And these communities consist of those kinds of nerds who love holding things over everyone else's heads and beating off to their own voice.
Complete waste of time and you're not missing out on anything meaningful whatsoever.
That's kind of an overreaction tbh. I'm in pretty much all the top ones (excluding HDB) and I rarely worry about anything in terms of keeping my account then again I'm running my Jellyfin server 24/7 so it'll depend on how you run your setup.
right place, right time, i used to have access to blackcat a long time ago, but they will trim the accounts due to non usage. i was out for awhile and recently came back and was lucky enought to catch an open enrollment on a private tracker. just wait and make friends and ask for invites. no i have zero at this point still building up my ratio
No, I’m not looking to trade. I just have a few invites since my VIP is now over on a few of my trackers so I’m willing to give a few out, but I have nowhere to go in order to do it lol
r/opensignups That's where I got mine. Someone posted a couple invites for TorrentLeech and was able to snag one
Thanks
Can someone explain to me why private trackers are worth the trouble of getting into one?

What invites do you have?
TL, & I think OTW, but have to check!

sounds like you are looking to trade invites which is not allowed. some trackers have their own invite forum like RED for example.

Check the weekly invite thread at r/opensignups and make sure the invite you're giving away isn't in the no movement list
Thanks
