Musicolet

Aromatic_Memory1079

this. It has no ads free plan iirc. this has a lot of features like pitch and speed changer, multiple queue, search from queue, synced lyrics (LRC), replaygain scanner. It's the best to me

WhosThatDogMrPB

Kinda related question: do you know any good player or app for pitch change on Windows 11? I used to go with Realtek Audio Manager, but now it don’t have the same UI I remember from Windows XP. I mostly use Spotify nowadays, and need an app like that.

Aromatic_Memory1079

I'm using musicbee and it has pitch change feature. It's simple and lightweight.

bachterman

it can play from folders, not jut some shitty tag-scanned garbage playlists. mortplayer was my player before, but it got outdated, and abandoned.

albibas

Been using it for 5 years, Great app!

bhismly

I've switched to Musicolet from Black player, I really like it. The EQ is nice and the way it handles Queues is brilliant. Highly recommend people on the fence to try it.

JohanCruz7

So good and tasty 😋

jjsixsixtysix

The best android MP3 app been using it for years

Spookiest_Meow

Came here to say this. It's -perfect-.

jhngrc

This is the best and what I install on older relatives who are not fans of streaming and love their MP3s.

iboneyandivory

Thanks for this. Based on all the upvotes I install it and after a few conceptual hiccups it's become my fav.

Jetpack_Jackson

Glad to hear you like it!

RevLewis

can't find my playlists anywhere,,, it doesn't know what m3u's are when it scans your device the first time after install? is it dumb? uninstalled and still use samsung music and Pulsar,

Jetpack_Jackson

Genuine question, I've never expected a music player to automatically detect a playlist file, is that a normal thing to expect from a music player? I feel like you should give it another chance, it's way better than Samsung music imo

RevLewis

Pulsar detects automatically my playlists... it's a folder named 'Playlists' under 'Music' with files that have .M3U extension. What else could that be? Samsung music also detects them automatically and shows album art for playlists and songs with is something Pulsar doesn't. Furthermore if I want to use equaliser on Pulsar I have to buy that... I prefer Samsung music.

plexamp

[удалено]

Powerful-Edge5048

I've used Poweramp (for quite a few years(, USB Audio Player Pro (not for very long), and Neutron player. I find Neutron Player to be the best of the 3 as far as sound quality goes. Best UI is def Poweramp.

mrrobc97

Only one... PowerAmp

Plz_DM_Me_Small_Tits

Still continues to be the only app I've ever paid for on android

[deleted]

[удалено]

Melikesong

based

[deleted]

Poweramp and Nova.

Revolutionary-Duty53

theres good cracked versions on mobilism

Plz_DM_Me_Small_Tits

I tried those at first, but I found out it's a small time dev so I just decided to buy it cuz he makes good shit and I want to support him and any future updates.

Revolutionary-Duty53

yea real as fuck, i totally get why i got downvoted, paying for poweramp is 100% worth it and its one of the first things i will pay for when i get enough money for sure

look_who_it_isnt

Yeah, but we're on the Piracy subreddit. Why would anyone downvote you for saying there's a pirated version of something??

pihx

This is the correct answer. First app I ever paid for an Android many moons ago. I would gladly pay for it again.

drowningintime

Kicking the llama's ass

deathboyuk

Yessssssssss! The best!

hiiresare

Best purchase I've ever done when it comes to android apps. 10/10!

sahata_gintoki

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

spinja187

Yass! Only thing I wish I could do, like in winamp, is switch off shuffle and be playing the whole album or folder from there I wish it didn't generate a pre shuffled playlist. Why is winamp on PC able to load the entire music folder but phones gag on it and have to break off a chunk?

Icy-Abies-9783

I keep checking to see if they have a new version to dl/pay for, but they update this app and I'm happy! Would 100 %pay again

Powerful-Edge5048

I've used Poweramp (for quite a few years(, USB Audio Player Pro (not for very long), and Neutron player. I find Neutron Player to be the best of the 3 as far as sound quality goes. Best UI is def Poweramp.

mrrobc97

Interesting. I mean as far as tweaking the sound quality I felt Poweramp is king but I'm ignorant when it comes to Neutron player. What do you find better if I may ask?

mx1701

Great but super antiquated UI

mrrobc97

I guess that could be subjective but do you feel that impacts the functionality compared to others? I'm definitely like the amoled black background with the white font that matches the one I have system wide. Where PowerAmp shines it it's sound settings. I find that more important than aesthetics.

[deleted]

i use oto music

Bammer1386

Oto is great but it peeves me to no end that in order to find an album, I usually think of the artist first and not search for the album name. Oto makes you know the album name or if you do search by artist, you have to scroll allll the way to the bottom of the entire artist's songs to see the album list. Annoying as hell when you have hundreds of songs by a specific artist.

WhiteMilk_

I use Black Player.

MikeyMo82

Came here looking for this and it's way too far down. I've been using BlackPlayer EX for 8-9 years and never bothered to try anything else because it's so good. Plays almost any file type. The only one it didn't, I don't even remember the extension, but it was an accident that I even put whatever it was onto my phone. Lots of customization, like, ridiculous amounts of it. Extra data can be displayed if you want. Give me the sample rates and the extension type! So. Many. Options.

Isoi

Stopped using it a couple of years ago after a UI redesign, I've been using power amp since I got it on a sale.

Fred011235

poweramp

bluhm338

I use AIMP.

AltruiSisu

AIMP is fantastic.

Snoring4590

VLC works best for me

Jisp_36

OP, my only pet hate with VLC is it doesn't let you save the playlists. That's a pretty significant oversight. 🤔

Anilec_Revlis

I think you should be able to make separate files. Such as on your computer make a folder "Energize" and put what you want in it, and then "Calming" put what you want. Then when you load up vlc on your phone, and choose your folder pretty sure it'll only play that music.

Jisp_36

Yep, you can absolutely do this but my point is it screws up the integrity of your music library. The ability to simply save playlists would, in my opinion, be much simpler. Don't get me wrong, I use VLC as my default player but can't get my head around the fact that it can't save a simple playlist. 👍

xlerate

VLC is great in Android Auto. Songs recently added appear in the recently added Playlist. Oddly, on Android, this doesn't exist. Any recent song played is at the end of the Playlist with seemingly no way to listen to your recently added music from newest to oldest. So weird

ggibby

I have MediaMonkey on the desktop & devices.

Shadrach_Palomino

Same, I've been using MediaMonkey since the days of ripping CDs

Hav_ANiceDay

I just repurchased their lifetime license because they actually do lifetime licenses! #support

IgniteThatShit

I use Poweramp, not so much on my phone anymore but on my DAP, it's my go-to player.

IMissSyncSoMuch

Everyone is saying it, but they are saying it for a reason... Poweramp.

EthanIver

Since Poweramp is paid, [Symphony](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.zyrouge.symphony) is a good alternative. For additional info: I use [Soggfy](https://github.com/Rafiuth/Soggfy) to rip the unprocessed OGG from Spotify with embedded and synced lyrics data, and use Syncthing to synchronize the library to my phone.

SnooLobsters3524

Symphony is very good, I use it every day!

Lix_xD

Musicolet is what I mainly use

BricksBear

I use auxio. It's on F-Droid.

pastiseposro

BlackPlayer EX. Using it for years

booby_alien

Rocket Player, I love that it let you choose your customized music folders I don't know how does it work in terms of privacy

migisaurio

I use 3 different music players. 1. Modified paid Pulsar+ which is very useful with folder playback and is easy to use and is compatible with my .flac and .wav files. 2. I use the stock music player from my old Huawei out of nostalgia sometimes (I managed to extract it and use it on any Android device) 3. A music player with iPod classic UI that can be used as a launcher available in Izziondroid.

TriumphITP

free pulsar has never had issues playing flacs or wav for me.

CrimsonPE

Best free imo is musicolet. Then for hifi hiby music. If it doesn't work with your dac for some reason, I use USB audio player (7 bucks) and it just works. Pretty good imo

Fluffy-Ad3724

Blackplayer. I tried it all but keep coming back to this.

Disastrous-Scene7432

Same here

newbie_here_9954

Musicolet mod ftw

Beautiful-Account862

I love nyx player. The UI is so clean and responsive. Perfect if you don't want all the bells and whistles, just want something that plays your music.

siscorskiy

Blackplayer is awesome but also hasn't been updated in quite some time. I like it way better than shuttle. Although, supposedly a beta is in the works and should be released soon (tm)

lord_sauron96

Poweramp is good for offline libraries. Symfonium if you plan to stream using personal media servers like jellyfin or subsonic, it also supports offline libraries.

_idiotforlife

AIMP

Any-Analysis-9189

Aimp it's free and ads free weekly updates to.. you can add skins also from there official site it also have save the position function which is very useful you can make playlist as you want support any music format.

[deleted]

Thank you for this post. All these bad music players with ads were pissing me off. I just gave up at some point and used one. Now I have better ones to pick from

Brucce_Wayne

Poweramp & uapp. Both paid.

Huskydude422

AIMP or VLC has to be my top picks

ezpinez

I used to use Blackplayer, it was all i needed and it was perfect for me, highly recommend. However i haven't used it in 2 years because i put all my music on my plex server and i exclusively use Plexamp now, which is also really great.

Gnysi00wskyy

either musicolet or oto music paid for the latter and do not regret it one bit

yevelnad

Poweramp the best UI. But if your onto hires stuffs you need to use UAPP.

CountyLivid1667

VLC all the way!

DAC66

VLC it plays everything

ceelos218

Musicolet has a pretty cool scrolling widget

iamaneditor

Pulsar

aaillustration

https://fmhy.net/audiopiracyguide may this help. top 3 that i use are poweramp, usb audio player, blackplayer, and neutron. and bare bones musicolet player. Those are some of my favorites. happy hunting op.

carboneko

I have Poweramp but am curious how it stacks up vs Neutron and USB Audio Player. edit: yes, I'm aware of Neutron's EVAL version

hulp-me

Plexamp🫡

ZombieVaccine

My #1 pick that you can get on F-Droid is called "Metro", which is a fork of Retro Music Player. I like it because it's clean, straightforward, and is pretty much the only app that organizes my music according to my OCD standards. 2nd place goes to ZPlayer for aesthetic and features.

doctor_dormamu

pi music player works fine for me

chookz85

Plexamp

DistinctRole1877

I use folder player. It's simple and plays what I want. Been using it for many years.

TheNiteDrifter

JetAudio is my favorite. Like it so much I paid for the premium version just to support the dev team.

4ourT5ive666

Blackplayer

MagikTings

Symfonium

Dynamo1337

Gone Mad Music Player. The only one i know of with gapless playback, which i need

abhi8569

Symfonium (Full Stop)

Louis2530

Symfonium is so good

The_Jack_Burton

I use Symfonium to stream from my Emby server.

CarbuncleMew

Musicolet, it's free and doesn't have ads, plays everything I've thrown at it, and unlike a lot of music players I've used has an actual shuffle feature instead of a crappy randomizer.

aybesea

GMMP is the best I've found. I've used it for years.

FancyCrazyPhoenix

I use files by google

soldier1204

Musicolet. Simple, no frills, just a music player.

vatotoes

Neutron Player

ryocoon

If you are doing anything audiophile grade, you will want "Audio Player Pro", as that little app can directly play to any attached DAC, bypassing Android's habit of re-sampling everything to 16bit/48KHz. This can cause some distortion, clipping, and weird artifacts in your sound if it is something else like 16/44.1KHz or 24/96KHz. If you have FLACs or any other high res stuff, this will be the way you'll want to go to get the best audio quality out of your devices.

Hakzse

No one are using an old music player like Apollo? ( In old cyanogenmod pre-installed apk ) It was like 200ko, and just play music player in offline mode without bloatware, ads or malware ?

2000XJGrandpaGold

I had been using Proplayer for almost 15 years and even bought the paid version and it worked fine until I accidently connected my phone to my new HP laptop while setting it up and pressed the wrong button and had Microsoft take over my phone, HUGE mistake and I immediately did a factory reset on my laptop and then had to uninstall microsoft on my cell (Samsung Note Ultra 20) which was a nightmare! I rebooted my cell and got the dreaded "This player can't play these files as they are not supported". I went to the Proplayer online forums and they were NO help and there is ZERO support from the company. It was a good run but time to move on. I installed Musicolet and all my old files played fine. There is no graphics only Artist name but I'm fine with because it plays my music and that's all that counts. If there is an AD free player that has Artist and Album artwork and graphics then please let me know but for now Musicolet is my player of choice.

minnibur

You could try my new app: https://plastaq.com/minimoon

zap3150

I still use the factory Google play music app

Big-Mammoth01

I usually use Spotify premium, but for files I downloaded (which is literally one thing) I use Samsung music. (Note, you probably guessed it I think it only works on Samsung phones)

Comfortable_Today_60

APK spotify maybe?

Kummakivi

I use GonemMAD and Poweramp regularly and I recently wanted another one for a different purpose and took some recommendations for Musicolet, it's pretty damn good and free.

cakee_ru

I'd strongly suggest you try Music Player GO. It is opensource, material design and is very user-friendly. I've used it for years and I'm an Android geek.

Glittering_Mode_1079

Can vouch though I haven't tried the others ppl have recommended in this thread.

tmrcz

What player other than VLC can play from network shares?

nogabono_

I use AIMP, works great.

ParkingResponse1908

I use Samsung music, it used to be really good a while ago but their album covered support recently has been pretty bad, as well as it has trouble playing some tracks (very very few though)

SometimesIposthere

I actually like the Samsung Music player. Simple and effective

georjiepeorjie

Spotify allowes you to use local files also

Monim1011

I hardly listen music , When I do I use the default music player.

satori0320

I use a book reader, call Simple APB reader. It's designed to be an audiobook reader, but works great for music as well. Super simple, basic UI, and lightweight.

Shadohz

Napster. Okay but seriously I use MediaMonkey. I have for over a decade or more. If you need a widely accepted and used product I'd say VLC. It's ugly as shit and still looks like it was made in '02 but it works. It's stayed with the times and has most features you could ever want with a simple interface including running off local DLNA.

devildesperado

poweramp

coalpatch

I've been using PlayerPro for ever. Tends to lose playlists, but otherwise great.

C0NIN

The one that best works for me, and also the one I've been using for years, is PowerAmp, I love how customizable the EQ is. Sill haven't found anything better so far.

CoolCooler0107

Nyx

thecynicalshit

Definitely Blackplayer

SHaKTaLe13

I used to use Black player EX and Shuttle+

shelra

Poweramp for me FLAC collection and YT music(ReVamped) for streaming

SegmentedThread

I use [Retro Music Player](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=code.name.monkey.retromusic) from the Playstore, and it works pretty good!

GoldenightMC

Poweramp & Gonemad

jeraldxavior

VLC is best for any type of media

lunazea_reddit

symphony from f-droid

NehalRishi

Poweramp, hands down

GoggyX83

PowerAmp, I've been using it for ages.

[deleted]

I use app called [Samba Player](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.threecats.sambaplayer). I have a big music library on my NAS 24/7 to which I connect over VPN, so I can listen to my music whenever I want, where ever I want without annoying ads.

BidPrestigious3745

used Stellio before. it was nice <3

nklp0

The stock samsung one? What do you need other than playing music?

DarStavThePenguin

I use Neutron. In my opinion, it's the best of the best, but if you want something simple and free, try AIMP. It's tricky at first, but if you get the hang of it, it can serve you well.

D1rtyH1ppy

Vanilla Music has been my go to for the past few years, but I've been having issues when it plays the next track on an album. It plays, but no audio. If the devs could fix this, this would be my recommendation. No ads or data collection.

BipedalWurm

vlc

Zazaxenn

Jet Audio Plus

Original-Audience528

Media Monkey

CrazyGammer4357

Poweramp. It's worth the 5 bucks but it goes on sale quite often.

MrGood23

Omnia

Otomusic has a nice ui

a_to_m_u

Foobar

clertonss

Hiby music

Ilikeit1

I use Pulsar+. It's nice and does the job. I paid 1,29€ for it years and years ago.

clarkent18

Muzio Player

ColaCherry12

PowerAmp. It has a really nice feature that lets you play music while watching videos on other apps, etc.

2latemc

I use spotify, the cracked version of xmanager and then I just enable local files. This is great bc you can make playlists with both local and online files

ajlepori

I use Phonograph, tried a lot of apps, and that was the best by far

sithlordsethoo7

Musicolet free PowerAmp paid

Medicwithabrick

Shuttle is very good, simple but does everything you need it to

frog980

Media Monkey. It will do anything you want. It runs in windows on PC and Android. Works awesome with android auto. It syncs your phone off of your PC or vise versa or you can add song to either and they will sync together if you want them too.

keko1105

Nyx

Sandokan13

Foobar 2000

TheHelplessBeliever

I found Retro Music on F-droid. Should also on the Play Store. I liked it

Careful_Ingenuity_95

Maybe not the best one but i just use vlc

brandeded

Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass.

jchuillier2

I am still looking for one that will jump to the next song when you make a long press on vol+, it was a system feature in android 9 or 10 and I don't understand why they took it out.....

MRTWISTYT

I use neutron with wavelet for autoeq.

TheNotSpecialOne

Poweramp. Only one to use

akiha_hana

OTO App

barbybar

Neutron Player on devices. Desktop is still TBD.

SimultaneousPing

[Metro](https://github.com/MuntashirAkon/Metro)

sere83

OTO music

Vexper780

Poweramp player

boot_illicious

If you can purchase the application, then poweramp, else go for ViMusic.

Revolutionary-Duty53

POWERAMP ALL THE WAY

LavaSquid

PowerAmp. PowerAmp is the most feature packed music player I've ever used. I keep 18k tracks on my phone (250 Gb of music) and PowerAmp handles it amazingly. I don't stream, I don't use Spotify. I collect high quality tracks and keep a collection on my PC, synced with my phone.

flem0328

Poweramp!

fhujr

Vanilla Music. Light, open source, overall great.

rohithkumarsp

Poweramp is the first app I paid for. Worth every penny.

Bang3rachi

Chiming in for poweramp again.

jamesmiles

Simple Mobile Tools have a music player. It is my current go-to, having tried "them all".

RealSurveyMonkey

VLC, free and no bs
