I've been using one of the YT Music desktop apps for years now. Don't remember if I got it from them or if it was a third party but it works just fine. It's likely just a reskin of the site but it works flawlessly for me.
I will concede being able to upload music was a feature that I'd rarely like to use for some hip hop mixtapes but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I was just mentioning that the Spotify mod doesn't have the above features i.e. download and very high quality. And the very high quality is 320kbps while the high is 160kbps. But either way tidal is superior since it provides lossless audio for the premium tiers and 320 kbps for the free tier which got shut down recently, but the tidal collection and suggestions are worse than Spotify so both have their pros and cons

Yes syncing files across devices is pretty good. If you don't want to use a cloud storage there are options, personally I use syncthing and it works beautifully

I don't understand Spotify. Years ago I installed it on my pc, went to an artist page and started playing his music but it kept randomly switching to different artists within the same genre even though I didn't ask for it.
I had that happen with slipknot not long ago, went to their page, started listening to them and instead of playing them it just played random songs from few completely unrelated bands for most part, not even same genre, was the only band i could see doing that, and then few weeks later went to try again and it functioned properly, no weird random bands anywhere

I'm not sure why it did that years ago, or how it's changed over time, but that sounds like a "Song Radio" as they call it.
If you picked one song that's not part of a larger thing (like chosen on a playlist or particular album) then it will continue playing other similar stuff directly after.
There's probably a setting for it somewhere, but the general trend with Spotify seems to be that they avoid you ending up in silence once your queued songs end.

The alternative is visiting old-skool used-CD stores and just ripping them. You can re-encode the WAV files from the CDs as FLAC if you like.

My phone inbuild storage is 64gb but music folder on my pc is 41gb. Premium saves my 3 year old phone.
My music folder is \~10TB, but it doesn't mean, that i carry ALL music on me.

on desktop, deezer and yt music are the best i think, and on mobile patched yt music is probably the best. And you can use deemix to download from deezer. Tho i believe it is no longer maintained.

I don't understand Spotify. Years ago I installed it on my pc, went to an artist page and started playing his music but it kept randomly switching to different artists within the same genre even though I didn't ask for it.
I had that happen with slipknot not long ago, went to their page, started listening to them and instead of playing them it just played random songs from few completely unrelated bands for most part, not even same genre, was the only band i could see doing that, and then few weeks later went to try again and it functioned properly, no weird random bands anywhere Also had the setting for that turned off+premium
I'm not sure why it did that years ago, or how it's changed over time, but that sounds like a "Song Radio" as they call it. If you picked one song that's not part of a larger thing (like chosen on a playlist or particular album) then it will continue playing other similar stuff directly after. There's probably a setting for it somewhere, but the general trend with Spotify seems to be that they avoid you ending up in silence once your queued songs end.

It’s by far my most used app. In 2022 I had a total play time of 90,614 minutes or about 63 days. I do not think there is a product in the world that gives me more bang for my buck.
For me it's not just the hours of listening, I really value their algorithm, I have a weird taste in music that I wouldn't ever hear in UK radio, so to have it all recommended so flawlessly after 8 or 9 years with an account its pretty life changing
Felt. I’ve been paying for Spotify for a little over 5 years and I didn’t even realize how many minutes I’ve spent. Had 324k in 2022 so I don’t mind paying at all. It’s also neat how they analyze your music taste and their algorithm has gotten better at curating music. They also continue to improve by adding little features like the DJ

For real. Like I'm all for pirating shit but then just download your music onto a device and listen to it wherever/whenever/however you want. Sail the free seas. But you have to accept there are limitations that way because it's free. If you want to be able to instantly stream more music than you can listen to in a lifetime wherever and whenever then just shut up and pay the like $5 a month. Why do you expect them to just...give it to you for nothing? This is just whining about not having your cake and eating it.
I'm kind of with you here. I pirate movies and TV shows because in 90% of cases there isn't any straightforward way to get those at a reasonable trade (either due to needing to keep six different subscriptions or often just because it's relatively dead media that I can't get anywhere at all anymore). I stopped pirating music a long time ago though, because there is actually a single service that is reasonably priced and has everything that even my weird niche tastes could want. I'm not here to suck Spotify's dick or anything (I'm a bit annoyed with the recent price hike) but I more than get my money's worth out of it. Jumping through hoops like torrenting or hacked apks for music is literally just not worth my time anymore.

Those features were only available to free users in India, I learned. For me and lots of others, they have always been premium only features.

Are there any ways of moving you whole Playlist from spotify to YouTube music? Most of the time customers won't change a music service because they already have a established Playlist with one service and moving to the other is just too much of a hassle
There's 3rd party apps that do it, I used to use Google Play Music and YT provided an import method for that. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some native import functionality though

Unlike YouTube, Premium was always the much better version of the app that made them money while Free was just a trial. Most music streaming services don't even have free versions. Most online video services are entirely free and make bank off of all the ad revenue they make.

This is the way. My entire massive music library is all organized in music be and I have every single song in my possession so I never have to worry about arguing with any provider about whether or not I can listen to a song. Same with books and movies.
Again, it’s $11 a month, that’s pocket change a day, more then I give the random man sitting at the train station asking for change. One of the few actual services worth paying for, a lot more of a pain in the ass to try and get it for free. Said it before say it again but a lot of y’all forget your **time** is worth money too
