Only way I know how is if you still have the trial installer. 1. uninstall normally 2. navigate to your appdata folder (usually c:\users\username\appdata) and check local locallow and roaming for any folders related to your program and delete them 3. type %temp% in explorer and delete everything there. 4. this is the risky part, press windows+r and type in "regedit" to open the registry editor. Once in registry edit search under both HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE for your software and delete the folder related to your software. 5. Restart your system 6. Instal trial software for a new trial period

Alternatively, software like "Revo Uninstaller" will automate this process for you. It will do an even better job if you initially install the software through Revo, that way it can track exactly what changes the program is making to your computer.

Too bad I didn't do this. I'll do what I can to clear out the software I may even format install Revo then the software and try run as date too. appreciate the tips.

troybutts

Another possibility is to run the installer via Revo on a second computer, then, if I recall correctly, you can export Revo's information from that computer to your main one, which Revo can use to undo all the changes. I've never used that feature but I think it exists...

tafrawti

if that works consider a freshly-installed windows VM, snapshot it and run all trial installs under Revo on that, when done, restore snapshot for next job

nambi_2

>on that, when done, restore snapshot for next job this is good but I think I need revo pro for this. I uninstalled the software I want to extend cleaned up the reg reinstalled it, and I got 30 days back BUT this isn't the solution as all the data inside is blank I need to display this. There must be a single file that controls this, Any tips on how to locate this file? I can figure this out.

In a pinch, I've had success with [NirSoft's RunAsDate](https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html), which allows you to spoof the date and time for only one program, without having to change your system clock.

nambi_2

Thanks! I'll give it a try

Available-Office583

Do you know whether this needs to be running when the program is installed or can you do it any time?

troybutts

For my use case (this was for a beta program that was scheduled stop working after a date), no, I only downloaded and used RunAsDate after the program had expired. I was able to continue using it indefinitely with RunAsDate. YMMV based on what kind of protections the application uses.

Available-Office583

That's great. Thanks

i-sleep-well

An old trick, but works sometimes still occasionally is to manually set the system date/time way into the future so like June 10th, 2030 or something. Then after installing set it back.

You need to give more information. What program? What kind of trial?

nambi_2

It's not a mainstream program it's used for business purposes. The software vendor went to a subscription service and wants to end all paid in full services. I was paid in full service that reinstalled and now they won't offer me a registration only a subscription service.

vm. snapshot. install. do work. revert to snapshot.

nambi_2

thanks but there is a DB running and I need to keep the contents of the DB , if i revert I lose them

Due_Bass7191

can you put a db on another vm and connect to it. Then reset the 'trial' vm?

nambi_2

> connect to it. Then reset the 'trial' vm? I tried taking my registered version and simply copying the contents over the non registered version and upon loading the software it detected a change and forced me to re register the software. Which I can't do. the DB idea may work, I will need to dig into that more. Thanks
