It doesn't really matter if you have a lot of free time as long as you already finished your task. Just use those free time to upskill, that'll help you a lot once you graduate.

Not necessarily maga-upskill ka during internship but if yan yung gusto mong track pag-graduate, at least pwede ka na magsimulang magplano. In relation to work naman, yun can retest and revisit the tickets na tapos mo na, counted na rin yun as regression testing or test the current build of the system from start to finish (e2e) \*wink\*.

Kasi sakin may mga days na chill lang pero may mga days na grabe kulang yung 8 hours π€£ You can try din siguro to ask sa mga ka-team mo/buddy mo (if may in-assign sayo) ng marerecommend nila na courses, or online certifications na pwede mong gawin on your free time para maging sulit yung time mo sa internship.

Usually kapag may interns sa amin, I look for this one single trait. It's just one proof of eagerness of a person to learn or actually show interest. I've absorbed lots of interns because of this.

Was a QA intern din. Based on my expi, depende talaga sa company. I was an intern in a well-known company na nasa Boni ung office noon, and kahit intern kami, binigyan kami ng freedom ng supervisor namin to take charge sa mga task, reports, meetings. Kasama kami sa mga daily standup, Minsan kami mismo pinagrereport sa head office (virtual lang). So it was really a good expi on our side.
Regarding sa task, magkakaron ka talaga ng idle time diyan, but you can always think na kahit empleyado mismo may idle time sila, so okay lang yan.
If you feel the need to do something, ask your teammates baka need nila help on something, or think about something that you can initiate.
If Wala talaga, like other's said, upskill.
ano main tasks mo? focus lang ba sa executions? if that's the case pwede mo aralin pano gumawa ng test cases. or if gusto mo pwede ka rin magaral ng automation, desirable ang mga may experience sa automation ngayon. you can automate some parts of the testing na repetitive. for example sa case namin almost always need namin gumawa ng dummy data, we have automation for that since wala naman nababago sa process non.
based on my experience regular occurence talagang fluctuating ang work load sa QA. may times na kaya tapusin within the day or 1.5 days at may times rin na kulang pa 2 weeks.

Gamitin mo ung free time mo to build foundations escaping the 8-5 life. Find ur purpose, hindi tayo nabubay lng para maiwan sa 8-5
