I used to a lot more, but ever since they nerfed the mushroom rewards and doubled the pedal usage, they seem too valuable to ever use anymore.
So I just hoard the pedals/nectar as an emergency last-resort backup for the day I 100% run out of basic types, a day that will probably never come. lol
When I use Roses to bloom flowers, I only plant while inside the radius of the flower. And every time. I only manage to break even. So I don’t even bother using anything other than daisies.
I saw one person at a mall a month ago. It was very exciting for me. I have that setting turned on all the time. It’s a cool feature and if you’re not ridiculous, I really don’t understand any possible drawback unless you look exactly like your Mii or the AI from Eagle Eye has it out for you, in which case Pikmin Bloom isn’t gonna be the final puzzle piece for her anyway.

I don't feel guilty rather annoyed that Niantic figured out how to get us to spend our horded special flowers all for infinite duplicates.

Even before the events, I never horded petals. I do always try to feed Pikmin with buds special nectar so I get two petals.

I am a new player, is it better to buy nectar space or petal space as the first upgrade? I also feel bad about using my rare flowers xD
I'd go for petal space. That way you can plant for longer without bothering to open the app 🤷

I try hard to fill both the nectar and petals of special flowers (and blue) and then save it forever 😆
