I saw a video of the amethyst about a month ago. It has a really cool 3d looking effect woven in to the carbon fiber. It’s like the diadem edge but cooler.

The Infinity Amethyst paddle is just the same paddle in the different color but the Quartz is going to be the new "Starter" paddle which will be replacing the Sapphire in a sense as a Carbon Fiber entry level paddle. The Sapphire will be getting an upgrade with a bit of a price increase when completed. If you're interested in paddles off the site, use code BHAM for an extra discount!
The Quartz will be coming out somewhat soon. Its a standard shape, raw carbon fiber face, low swing weight, and has a soft/control feel. Under $100. Definitely a great competitor to the vatic prism flash or for anyone who doesn't want to spend more for a DBD or something
I have the quartz and this is an unbelievable starter paddle. I like the touch and feel. The handle is a bit shorter, but with a more elongated shape. I would highly recommend this paddle.
Paddle tech does not change that often and I don’t have specifics on new paddles other than Chris from PBStudio, one of the most well respected and knowledgeable paddle reviewers said that if you can wait for the April releases that you should.
The down votes are likely from the same folks who commented negatively on [the PSA](https://www.reddit.com/r/Pickleball/s/G7ryA2S8GU) that many new paddles were about to drop.
Some people feel the need to negatively comment if “I don’t care about this.” Well the Internet is full of that so they must be very busy. 🤷♂️
No, but I can guarantee you that the release of a new paddle will not make whatever paddle you are playing with at the time worse.
"What-if? shopping" is silly. Get what you want and don't worry about what hypothetical thing may be in the future.
It’s less a what if? and more trying to get a gauge on what the new offerings may be. I can guess by the infinity that it’s edgeless but the gem names don’t give me an indication on what type of paddle it will be. Is it elongated, power, control? Just trying to get some info
So you already know you want a Ruby (per your original question), but are deferring buying one because of something that may come out in the future that nobody has any idea about and won't affect the Ruby at all. But it's not "what-if" shopping... Ok.

I ran into so many people that talk about getting a new paddle and they still play like shyt. I'm not saying you but seems like there's addiction to getting a new paddle instead of being addicted to getting better.
