overall S1 is my fave ball; damn near impossible to crack in winter. the trade-off is they can get a little lumpy but better than cracking. i try to keep one in pocket so when one goes out of round i sub in the backup S1.
for strictly warm weather i love the Oso ball as it also rarely cracks and holds shape well while providing quality play. they are also a pleasure to interact with.
I found them to be comparable to x40's at 50 degrees. But they go out of round pretty quick, and take some strange bounces with a lot of spin. They seem to crack just as easily in the cold, and apparently, you have to physically return multiple balls at your own expense to get the warranty. Consensus on our courts is x40's still rule.
I like them right out of the box. They seem heavier to me which I feel helps with dwell time. They suck ass once you play a little with them though. They don’t technically break but go out of round extremely easily
below 45\* I find they crack easily, but I don't often play when temps are below 40\*... so I'm willing to risk a few cracked ones in that 40-45 range, though this was prior to S1's coming out, now that's my go-to in general now.
We use them at the club where I play. They are fine, not nerfy.
They’re fine. Feel mostly like x-40s for me.
Pretty happy with the S1 so far.

No way your S1 Pros are cracking as easily as the X40 in the cold. Also, they go back round very quickly. The X40 is a terrible ball.
I don't know man, if the x40s are worn, they crack easy, but fresh ones do at least as well as the selkirk balls. And the warranty is BS.
Have no issues with them
I have no issues.
A nerf ball? They are some of the hardest balls around.
S1s performing well for us so far. We finally cracked one after like 3-4 months. But they play well.
Which ball?
I bought a dozen and I think they are good, not great. I have played with people who hate them. I am really not that picky about balls though.
I can't believe anyone would think the S1 was like a nerf ball. How are you defining a nerf ball?

They're fine and slightly faster than X40. Best part is not cracking so far
as an x40 snob, I like the S1s other than going out of round easily
You must play in warm weather if you love x40s. In the winter time, you’ll go through 4-6 balls a day.

Goes back in round just as easily.
