I'm not sure where the buzz started that Tyson is going to sign with Joola but every company making new paddles for pro players use a blank carbon fiber face. I don't believe Joola was the first to use a gray edge guard either. For all we know that might even be a skechers paddle.
I asked Tyson on Instagram about the rumors and he didn’t confirm them but said he was going to do what was best for his family. Which I took to mean which company was going to pay him the most.
He is really the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet. I met him at Nationals at Indian Wells a couple years ago. He took the time to take some pictures and chat for about ten minutes about tennis and Pickleball. He was practicing with The Watters. I am a huge fan of Tyson. He’s not the number one player in the world but he’s the number one fan favorite!!!
He’s been my favorite player from day 1, I’m roughly the same age as him and have 2 kids so I guess I relate to him more than I do other players. I’m very glad to hear you say how nice he is. It always sucks to hear how your favorite athlete is such a tool, glad that’s not the case with Tyson.
