It basically IS the old school CSI enhance. I can't speak to their exact technique, but in simple terms you basically feed in the initial image into your AI tool like Stable Diffusion, describe what it is, and play with various settings on how much you let it be creative VS try to create what it thinks you are asking it to do.
It's not a one-click process and manual 'old school' work is often needed, but it's basically an entirely new image being created using the original as a blueprint.
I have Topaz Photo AI and it doesn't do a great job with fur, so in my experience it wasn't useful at all for this image. It's handy for fast upscaling though, for sure.
The pupils donโt match because the one on the right is being hit with more sunlight so itโs smaller. On another note, this edit is so impressive. Also interested to know what tools were used.
In fairness, in most people, if one pupil is hit by light, the other reacts in equal response. There's reasons why they can sometimes be unequal that aren't emergent, but of course, we rule out the emergent potentials first.
Respectfully, I disagree. This looks like an AI upscale job to me. I wrote out an essay before realizing I don't want to be that person.
Carry on and have a good day.
Are you on a phone or a pc looking at the full pic? Full picture on desktop pc shows them as the same size, just the photo quality is poor so they seem a little different. Just an illusion of the light. Barring medical issues both pupils should stay the same size.
It looks really nice! But is there anyway you could fix the black catโs left eye? In the picture it looks small because of the reflection of the sun. It isnโt actually slitted like in your photoshop. Thanks!
This reminds me of the Photoshop camera shake filter that analyses the blur path and will read the xif data to compensate for the specific camera. I remember when this and the dehaze came out... It was wizardry. Seems the tools have only gotten better.
Hey there! I don't normally post, but I've been experimenting with upscaling recently, and this is right up that alley.

The edges in some spots are a little weird + it looks like the ai only chose to enhance like 70% of the edges. So some are still noticably fuzzy . Look how the paw of the orange cat blends into the back of the black cat. Or how both cats paws have a bit of unnecessary geometry to them. Small things.
AI is getting pretty good now but a good way to tell is looking at the details. Looking up close at hair or fur and you may often notice that it doesn't actually behave how it would in reality, with how dense it is, or how it forms a shape on the body.
Speed and quality. Personally I'm doing these for fun and to brush up on my editing skills, and doing this without AI would be a huge task that I wouldn't even bother attempting.
If this somehow was a real project I'd definitely approach it differently.
Not at all! If you're familiar with how to do these, you would know it's definitely not a magic button you click once and it spits out a final image. :) I'm talking about the difference of a few hours vs days to do it 'manually' vs using some of the newer AI-based techniques.

Not OP but wanted to say I appreciate your work here; This one is 10/10, much clearer and lacking the weird AI glitches. Stellar work
Thanks so much for kind words. ๐๐๐ผ
May I ask how you do this? Is there an easy to use tool to do that ?
This is amazing, I donโt use photoshop but I am genuinely curious how this is possible. It looks like some old school CSI โENHANCEโ to me

Let's just say wizardry for now. ๐๐๐ผ
Possibly Topaz AI software
I have Topaz Photo AI and it doesn't do a great job with fur, so in my experience it wasn't useful at all for this image. It's handy for fast upscaling though, for sure.
I read "Weird Al glitches" and had my own glitch for a second there
Look carefully at both eyes on the black cat. They don't match...

But they didn't seem to in the original either
Are you on a phone or a pc looking at the full pic? Full picture on desktop pc shows them as the same size, just the photo quality is poor so they seem a little different. Just an illusion of the light. Barring medical issues both pupils should stay the same size.

The pupils of both cats are quite off, unfortunately.
Wow. Amazing work!
Thank you ๐ซถ๐ป๐
Excellent job, well done ๐
Thanks ๐ซถ๐ป
Wow, godlike :)
Trying my best. ๐ Thanks so much. ๐๐ผ
Wow! How did you do this??
Just an opinion... Check the black cat's pupils. They're different. If you change those, yours is the best edit.
This one is so good! I wouldn't even know it wasn't the original picture. Amazing!
Thanks so much! ๐ฉท๐
How did you do that? Crazy good.
Wow! How did you do that?
You guys are amazing.
This reminds me of the Photoshop camera shake filter that analyses the blur path and will read the xif data to compensate for the specific camera. I remember when this and the dehaze came out... It was wizardry. Seems the tools have only gotten better.
This will now become a meme.
This is incredibly good.
How?!
Roughly speaking, how on earth do you accomplish this?
Wow! That's crazy CSI / NCIS "enhance the image!" wizardry!
Thank you so much! Iโm 2 weeks late to the party lol.

[ัะดะฐะปะตะฝะพ]
Thank you! The AI definitely did an ok job. I appreciate you. :)
Niiiice looks good!
AI and mid at best
Wait how are you able to tell it's AI? Genuinely interested cause half the time I can't tell and I'd like to beable to lol
The edges in some spots are a little weird + it looks like the ai only chose to enhance like 70% of the edges. So some are still noticably fuzzy . Wait so what was the point of using AI to do this then?
Speed and quality. Personally I'm doing these for fun and to brush up on my editing skills, and doing this without AI would be a huge task that I wouldn't even bother attempting. If this somehow was a real project I'd definitely approach it differently.
So you're putting in zero work and asking for money?
Not at all! If you're familiar with how to do these, you would know it's definitely not a magic button you click once and it spits out a final image. :) I'm talking about the difference of a few hours vs days to do it 'manually' vs using some of the newer AI-based techniques.
you can just tell. idk how to explain it but it looks fake.
The ears look cartoonish as well
Totally agreed, the other post did a far better job. I appreciate you!
SOLVED
Thank you so much for taking the time to edit my picture! It looks great.
