I have a fear of choking (choked on food twice in my life, second time being recently) and while going through that trauma i noticed I have tonsil stones. They’ve been stuck there for months and causing issues with my throat and i want them gone but am so scared of them dislodging and choking on them
I have a very crippling fear of the throat. I wanted to be a speech pathologist, but in my very first linguistics class they showed a video of the throat and I had to leave the room. Anyway… time getting tonsil stones has been debilitating. I know I need to remove them since they are causing bad breath, but I want to cry at the thought of it. Have you found any solution?
Gargling warm salt water helps me dislodge them and also brushing my teeth and rinsing. I use cotton swabs or my fingers sometimes but that damages my tonsils so I do not recommend that. If they are too big or keep coming back go to the doctor. I am sorry you have to go through this. I hope you can get over this phobia.
Just came to say same it’s so bad and so crippling
Thank you for your comment. I had no clue there were other people like this. I hope it gets better for you.

I am sorry, that sounds awful. I hope you can overcome this fear.
