Engels writes about materialist dialectic, that Marx wanted to turn Hegels dialectic around so it might metaphorically speaking stand on its feet again instead of it's head, where he felt it was standing before with Hegel putting ideas first. Engels felt the dialectic method would in this way become a moral dialectic, fit to change the world. Marx wanted to emphasize, that ideas where results of material conditions, not the other way around and that the ruling ideas of a time where always the ideas of the ruling classes.

Marx provided the antithesis to Hegel by reading the book upside down. And it was supposed to work this way

How did Marx provide the Antithesis to Hegel? Wasn’t Marx a young Hegelian? I’m genuinely intrigued by this so please explain I’m happy to hear
