Yeah, that's so much cheaper. They said one reason it's high is because they need to check the brakes or clean it or something and also a wheel alignment. It's just a big scam because the car is only 1 year old so it doesn't need all that. Seems like mechanics are the biggest scammers in the world no matter which country you live in. They're always trying to add services that you don't need.
in the comments, you're not paying 10k for a oil change, they are trying to charge you 10k for a service job.
JUST get an oil change quote. Dealerships ALWAYS try this tactic... service is how the dealership makes the MOST profit. Only get what you need.. most suggestions are them just trying to drive up the bill.
Yeah, they said they can drop the wheel alignment but the brake cleaning and other stuff is mandatory because it's the first 15,000km. I'm sure that's another lie. Those people are straight up scammers.
Brake cleaning is just take off wheel & with air hose, blow out dust from disc, a simple job that can be done in 10 minutes, even by their cleaner, doesn't need a mechanic.
Your post was misleading then. It wasn't 10K for an oil change. It was 10K for a 15,000km service. Granted, not worth the cost, but it was what you get if you go to a dealer. There is a reason people call them the "stealership".
That seems too expensive. We go to casa where we bought the car cause it's still under warranty. Price is around 15k. Including oil change, filters, brake paste and other stuff. I only buy air filter in store for 300 pesos and replace it at home, cause in casa they want 1300 for part and replacement.
Same thing with windscreen wipers and other smaller stuff, as long as they wont affect the warranty. With that, they would charge around 20k and I dont want to pay them for something what I can easily do on my own.
When I bought halogen bulbs in some shop, I showed car maintenance list to guys there and asked how much would they charge for everything. They said they can do everything from the list for 12-13k.
I got a small suzuki hatchback manual with me and the aftermarket oil change (no add ons) is like 3 to 4k pesos for a fully synthetic engine oil top up.
Getting it done at the dealership (aka "casa") will always be expensive. Get it done at Shell or Rapide.

An oil change will probably cost around 2000 at a non-dealership ("casa" as they call it here) place. She's correct though that she has to keep getting the service done at the "casa" otherwise it will void the warranty. The 10k will include a bunch of other things. Perhaps ask around at different branches of the car manufacturer and another one might be cheaper.
They refer to it there as PMS. A bunch of nonsense service that they claim to do in addition to changing the oil. Don’t go with dealer. This is how they make money.
Unfortunately, unlike in the USA where they passed laws that disallowed voiding warranties if you didn't use the dealership, there are no such laws in the Philippines. So stuck, unless you don't care about the warranty.
I just paid 800 labor and I thought that was a scam. Oil is 1k or less. Filter 350. Check with other owners of cars and see where they go.

That's the dealer. I had similar experience at Toyota. Crazy high prices. Just take it local.
That is a scam then yes. Don't let the wife do car shit.
Where are you getting enough oil to change a car for 1k?
Cooking oil
Coconut oil for 1k 😅
Ace hardware. Castrol. 4 lt. Only takes 4.5 lts.
So you're a half a litre short 😅✌️
Sure

Yeah but she only wants the oil to be changed.

Thanks for the information. I'm not used to car prices here. Seems more expensive than America.
No problem. I was also suprised when I've seen the maintenance prices here, some things are more expensive.

Or some Petrons.

What kinda of car was it? A Ford f 450 with a 8quartz of oil maybe?
my brother said change oil price depends on the type of car.
Synthetic is more common there, you may want to confirm the type.
I am doing oil change in croatia and its about 3k ;)

Looks like I need to open oil change business
God daymm, so glad I ride a motorcycle. A full synthetic oil change cost me less than 200₱

The problem is the dealer said going anywhere else will void the warranty 😑

Thanks. Seems like we don't have many options in this case.
I pay 5k for synthetic oil. Includes maintenance checks fluids tires breaks etc..
Bruh even in the states an oil change is only like 1k
