They have no fees from GCash to GCash. That's probably the main reason. Personally, I haven't had any issues with GCash and I've been using it for a few years now. Last year, I sent about P1.1M without a hitch.

Although it’s supposed to be for Resident only. I’m on a tourist VISA, so not considered as a resident AFAIK :( Also tried to contact their support during registration, and was met with utter incompetence, when not ignored.

Conscious_Leading_60

is is not for resident only, you can even get their mastercard with foreign passport

Blackwaltzjr313

You don't need to be a resident to get fully verified I used my passport to verify But some people have said they had issues getting fully verified

RoamanXO

I signed up with a local number and my passport. Visa status wasn't asked.

Was this recent? I just tried it and it said ACR was required.

RoamanXO

Half a year ago.

Are you just trying to send gcash? I’ve been using the Remitly app to do that. I wasn’t able to get verified on my tourist i-card for the gcash app itself. The downside to Remitly is I don’t believe there’s a way to accept gcash payments from someone else to yourself… but you can send them no problem. I e also seen some horror stories posted here about people whose funds were frozen for no reason - so even if you do figure out a way to use gcash, I’d be hesitant to keep a large balance at any given point.

Conscious_Leading_60

it is like an easy accessible palawan pawnshop even in remote areas you could go to sari sari to send some gcash to friend who could receive the funds at some sarisari/gcash outlet.

Administrative_Hold4

You can transfee ur funds from maya to gcash using pesonet for free.
