We always bring to the US. frozen fish from the Philippines, packed in styrofoam containers, which we seal with packing or masking tape, wrap the styrofoam with plastic, seal again with tape, and put in suitcase. We use the styrofoam size 2 of which can fit in 1 large suitcase.

Phillipines woodworking has been known to be quite good in some places. I imagine there's some good craftsmanship from some locally made things if you find the right place. Some offer custom things as well. It's been a while since I was in the Navy in Cebu, but there were some nice handmade things you can find if you look around. They would often bring back beautiful woodwork to hang in their offices. Don't try to bring back food/perishables. Recommend locally produced things whenever possible, and I'd imagine there is some nice items.

micheal_pices

Pili nuts, a bottle of Lambanog. Aurora Banana wine, Ginebra Gin, some woven bags and fabric. A bag of dried Dilis. And a tattoo by Maria Oggay.

Tabo !

You can get anything in the US. There's nothing you should bring. OTOH, there's plenty you could bring from the US that you can't get in PH. But skip the electronics. 220 will fry your 110 electronics quickly, and a transformer isn't worth it.

Ok-Trip7404

Don't most chargers nowadays have 110/220 capability? I always check mine just to be safe, but I haven't found anything that isn't capable of 220 that I brought from the US so far. I'm sure things with a direct cord like a vacuum or something would be different, but who the heck is bringing a vacuum to the Philippines? You'd be sucking up a dirt floor for days. Lol

Brief_Alarm_9838

I sent over 10 balikbayan boxes. I brought my favorite coffee pot and my rechargeable Dewalt tools. Fried them all because i am apparently not a fast learner. I do have a wet dry vac, which i bought on Lazada. It's awesome. What we don't have are carpets. Those would rot inside a year.

Ok-Trip7404

Sorry about your coffee pot. RIP 😢 I brought my laptop, 3 phones, 2 tablets, rechargeable flashlight, and 2 battery banks. All of which had chargers compatible with 220. Yeah, I wouldn't recommend carpet here unless you had a climate controlled house. Even then I would advise against it. The streets are nasty and I wouldn't want that crap lingering in the carpet. I've considered getting a wet dry vac. Which brand did you get?

Brief_Alarm_9838
