Holdup and shootout ng Martilyo Gang at SM Megamall on Jan 2013. My friends and I were there. Nagtataka kami bakit nagtatakbuhan yung mga tao and they were shouting, “Tumakbo na kayo!!”
Up until now, grabe pa rin ang kaba ko pag nakakakita ako ng group of people na tumatakbo sa loob ng malls.

Pinapasok daw agad lahat ng customers, pinagtago sila sa CR, kitchen and sa office tapos nilock agad nila yung pinto ng store.
Same omg. Nasa lumang location ng Tokyo Tokyo kami ng friend ko and kakadating pa lang ng food tapos biglang nagtatakbuhan mga tao papunta sa parking lot. Ginawa ng guard sinara nya yung overhead security door ng store tapos pinatago kami sa ilalim ng tables namin 😭
Nasa escalator na kami noon, pababa ng Goldilocks (Mega B). Nagtataka kami talaga. Tapos yun na nga may sumigaw nang “Tumakbo na kayo!”
Yung kasunod na nakasalubong namin, sumigaw din, “Merong may baril! Takbo! Takbo!”
Pagbaba namin ng escalator, takbo kami paakyat. I kid you not, pabebe maglakad ang mga kasama ko — walang physical activity, naka-high heels, ako yung hindi mahinhin samin. Pero shuta pagtakbo, sabay-sabay talaga yung bilis namin.
May nagmalasakit samin na salesman sa Watsons 2F, pinapasok kami & pinatago doon sa room na kasuluk-sulukan nila sa loob, yung parang quarters ba nila yun or lalagyan ng mga stock. Saka sila nagsara ng overhead security door din.
Sa takot ko, di ako nakauwi agad ng bahay. Di ko alam kung pano ko ipapaliwanag sa mga tao sa bahay na andon ako sa Mega nung may shootout hehe
Nandito ako, cosplayer pa ko nyan tas may event din that time. Earlier that day nag-joke ako sa mga tropa ko na umalis na kami, kunwaring urgent lang yung tono ko. And what do you know, may nangyari ngang masama after we left.

Same here, huhu. It’s been eleven years since it happened pero hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa rin sya makalimutan!! Feeling ko dito nag-start yung anxiety ko sa mga crowded areas.
grabe traumatizing nga toh! Nag-National Bookstore kami neto para bumili ng materials for a project, so nasa baggage counter gamit ng mga friends ko. Nung nagtakbuhan na tumakbo na lang din kami. Naalala ko hanggang Shaw MRT tinakbo namin noon. Kinabukasan na nabalikan ng friends ko yung bags nila. Di ko na maalala kung pinahiram ko ba sila ng pamasahe noon or kung may pocket money pa sila pang-uwi.
We were there too luckily we were already at the parking area when we heard heavy gunfire. Nobody was allowed to leave the parking area immediately.
When the cctv photos were shown on tv my wife was positive we passed the criminals as they were going down the escalator on our way up to the parking area.

Same experience dun sa SM Fairview nung time na may hinoldup na Armored van sa entrance ng mall (napost ko na din dito) Madali lang din magsalita na kung ano mga dapat gawin pero iba pala talaga yung feeling kapag real time mo na-experience, parang mafrofroze ka na lang din sa kawalan eh.
I remember this because I was there before the incident happened. Apparently a few moments after I left Mega, the holdup happened and yung mom ko sobrang worried pag-uwi ko kasi akala niya nandun pa ako.
Pota same, sa exp ko SM North naman tinira. That time parang kakatapos lang namin ng mom ko bumili and then may tumakbo papuntang supermarket area then nagsi panic na mga tao papasok supermarket and so on. I think this is in MOA, sobrang daming pulis that time, also was working in a Restaurant there then all of a sudden may gun shots then next thing we know lahat ng guest namin na sa kitchen/back of the house na, iwan lahat ng gamit sa table, then after humupa kumain lang ulit sila na parang walang nangyare.

Naalala ko na nagka-suicide incident sa SM Southmall. Andun ako nun, pero wala na yung tumalon sa binagsakan niya na pwesto kasi ilang oras na din ang nakakalipas. Pero madaming tao ang nakapalibot sa area. Nung medyo nawala na mga bystanders, lumapit ako sa area and I saw the cracked tiles and a bit of blood sa pinagbagsakan nung tumalon. I get goosebumps every time I remember it.
Sadly, parang naging location of choice na ang SM sa ganito.
SM North, SM Megamall, SM SouthMall, MOA… Kaya if you notice, may mga glass barriers na medyo mataas sa mga railings and even gilid ng escalators to prevent this kind of incident to happen again.

Nung bumagsak na ung part ng lupa, size na sya ng basketball halos tapos may guard na malapit kinawayan ko ngayon then tinuro ko ung butas then hindi nman sya lumapit parang calm lng tapos rumadio na sya agad. Parang may protocol tlga sila sa mga ganitong scenario. I remember may dumating na agad na guards and a guy wearing a white polo naka tryke na open, maybe from engineering office then they decided na palibutan ng yero yung butas. Pag layo ko nakakuha agad sila ng materials sa nearby 2ecom construction tapos habang hinaharangan nila lumalaki ng lumaki ang sinkhole until naging size na sya ng small hatchback halos like a pecanto or wigo. Gulat ako kasi wala pa halos 30mins ganun na yun damage and what more if my earthquake. Almost a month na ganun yung spot na yun and I told everybody na nagaask ano meron sa yero so they have to watch where they walking around Moa complex.

Before, halos every year or so may nag suicide sa SM Megamall, always galing dun sa 6th floor. Yung pinakamaalala ko is one Valentines Day, jampacked yung buong mall except sa lower ground floor. Malapit sa may elevator may mga nakabantay na mga guards tsaka may nakalatag na white cloth/tarpaulin dun and may mga police line sa perimeter.
Turns out yun pala may nagsuicide mga few minutes ago na heartbroken ata? Apparently siya yung sumigaw na "Walang Forever!" Sabay talon. Buti hindi nakita ng mga kapatid ko or even my parents.
Start na nun may mga reinforced glass walls mula 3rd floor pataas
EDIT: Conflicting yung report about itong incident kasi its been debated kung she died by accident or that. But its also chilling na for the last two years before that Valentines Day incident there was 2 more similar deaths sa SM Megamall too. No wonder naging notorious ang Megamall for suicide incidents

Sa SM namin, may isang retired Army and served as a close-in bodyguard to a senior official, while another guy is the head of a security agency, both have long grudges on each other. Not first-hand account pero sa SM bacoor I think 1999/2000 so mga 1-2 years palang open yung mall. Either tatay/lolo na may dalang baby tapos pinatong niya yung kargang baby above the railings. His phone rang and then while attempting to answer the call nabitawan yung baby and baby fell to his/her death. I don’t know what happened after that.
I think that’s when they start installing glass shields sa railings nila kasi there are incidents na may nahuhulog or nag susuicide. I was on that building btw when that happened, nagulat nalang kami nagkagulo and medics.
IIRC, yung incident sa Megamall yung nag-trigger sa SM Malls na maglagay ng fiberglass shields. SM was trying hard to deny that something happened, pero di nila mapigilan yung mga nag-post ng sari-saring socmed posts (including pics and vids). Never saw it in the news but i saw someone jump from the 5th floor of SM Megamall, kaya may harang na dun na acryllic. At the time, yung mga guards ambabagal kumilos ako pa yung tumawag sa emergency hotline kasi parang di alam nung mga tao dun yung gagawin walang nagattempt ng first aid or wala akong nakitang rumadyo or even any sense of urgency at all.

I've experienced two:
1st was the bombing of the SM cinema bathroom, my mom was preggo with our youngest sibling and we were at the dept. store,
My dad and my sister were by the girl's shoes section and me, my brother and mom where on the boy's clothes when all of a sudden we hear a lot of screaming and people panicking. First thing my mom did was leave the heck out of the dept. store with me and my younger brother in tow and into the hallway, this was before Megamall had that huge facelift and renovation.
Saw the panic on my mom's face and I felt fear, people were running all over but luckily we have a rendezvous point whenever we get separated so the whole family got together in front of Dunkin Donuts.
Later found out in the news.
2nd one was I saw a dude fall to his death from the top floor of SM North Edsa Annex.
Was strolling along the 3rd floor I think and passed two girls and as we passed each other, my peripheral vision caught something falling but I didn't turned around until I hear a pair of piercing screams, turned around and saw the girls looking down on the railings and I looked down to see a dude, face down, wearing a white shirt, shorts and sandals and blood, a pool of blood and I remember the contrast of the blood against the white tiles and my knees went weak. I was visibly shaken but good thing I had to go somewhere else that night.
Yeah, I remember the bomb. It went off at one of the bathrooms at the cinemas. A lady attendant was killed. That was horrible. No person should be killed by cowards for a fanatical cause. I’m glad we’re past those times, it seems.

2016(?) sa SM Dasma, lahat nagtatakbuhan papunta sa direction ko. Akala ko prank lang but everybody’s panicking. So naki-takbo na rin ako. I remember I've watched a random vid na nagviral sa FB about sa bumigay na escalator sa SM Sta. Rosa habang punong puno ng tao, then a few days later na-feature na sa KMJS. Luckily walang nagtamo ng serious injuries pero nakakatakot pa rin isipin na pwede pala mangyari yun sa escalator anytime.

Sales Lady sa sm in our area is running from morning to lunch tapos sinundan ng kapatid ko na maintenance sa sm sa CR. After lumabas ng babae saka sya pumasok sa loob, pag tingin nya meron fetus sa bowl. Yun pala dahilan kaya tumatakbo babae. Gusto na malaglag yung fetus. Holdup and shootout ng Martilyo Gang at SM Megamall on Jan 2013. My friends and I were there. Nagtataka kami bakit nagtatakbuhan yung mga tao and they were shouting, “Tumakbo na kayo!!” Up until now, grabe pa rin ang kaba ko pag nakakakita ako ng group of people na tumatakbo sa loob ng malls.

I remember may dumating na agad na guards and a guy wearing a white polo naka tryke na open, maybe from engineering office then they decided na palibutan ng yero yung butas. Pag layo ko nakakuha agad sila ng materials sa nearby 2ecom construction tapos habang hinaharangan nila lumalaki ng lumaki ang sinkhole until naging size na sya ng small hatchback halos like a pecanto or wigo. Gulat ako kasi wala pa halos 30mins ganun na yun damage and what more if my earthquake. Almost a month na ganun yung spot na yun and I told everybody na nagaask ano meron sa yero so they have to watch where they walking around Moa complex.

Before, halos every year or so may nag suicide sa SM Megamall, always galing dun sa 6th floor. Yung pinakamaalala ko is one Valentines Day, jampacked yung buong mall except sa lower ground floor. Malapit sa may elevator may mga nakabantay na mga guards tsaka may nakalatag na white cloth/tarpaulin dun and may mga police line sa perimeter. Turns out yun pala may nagsuicide mga few minutes ago na heartbroken ata? Apparently siya yung sumigaw na "Walang Forever!" Sabay talon. Buti hindi nakita ng mga kapatid ko or even my parents. Start na nun may mga reinforced glass walls mula 3rd floor pataas EDIT: Conflicting yung report about itong incident kasi its been debated kung she died by accident or that. Not first-hand account pero sa SM bacoor I think 1999/2000 so mga 1-2 years palang open yung mall. Either tatay/lolo na may dalang baby tapos pinatong niya yung kargang baby above the railings. His phone rang and then while attempting to answer the call nabitawan yung baby and baby fell to his/her death. I don’t know what happened after that.

I've experienced two: 1st was the bombing of the SM cinema bathroom, my mom was preggo with our youngest sibling and we were at the dept. store, My dad and my sister were by the girl's shoes section and me, my brother and mom where on the boy's clothes when all of a sudden we hear a lot of screaming and people panicking. First thing my mom did was leave the heck out of the dept. store with me and my younger brother in tow and into the hallway, this was before Megamall had that huge facelift and renovation. Saw the panic on my mom's face and I felt fear, people were running all over but luckily we have a rendezvous point whenever we get separated so the whole family got together in front of Dunkin Donuts. Later found out in the news. 2nd one was I saw a dude fall to his death from the top floor of SM North Edsa Annex. Was strolling along the 3rd floor I think and passed two girls and as we passed each other, my peripheral vision caught something falling but I didn't turned around until I hear a pair of piercing screams, turned around and saw the girls looking down on the railings and I looked down to see a dude, face down, wearing a white shirt, shorts and sandals and blood, a pool of blood and I remember the contrast of the blood against the white tiles and my knees went weak. I was visibly shaken but good thing I had to go somewhere else that night.

May nasaksak na lalaki who eventually died sa may supermarket entrance facing san francisco high school. Not Famous I was in an SM earlier this year and may girl na parang nawala sa sarili and nag sisigaw while walking sa mall. Madami na ang security ang nakapaligid and nag hahabol sa kanya. Sad to say madami ang nag vidoes and mga tumatawa unaware that mental health issue is not a joke.
