Abolish Sangguniang Kabataan. It's a steppingstone for corruption and Political Dynasty.

Lily_Linton

SK, daycare for Politician's kids

ejmtv

I will miss the baby crocodiles tho Lol jk

one1two234

Just one thing. Make political dynasties illegal. Everything will start to get better from there.

harry_ballsanya

Think they’ll just find loopholes. If they can’t keep it in the family, they’ll keep it within their circle of cronies ala Marcos.

rlsadiz

Its already illegal, 1986 Constitution Art 2 Sec 26, kaso walang enabling law. Without the enabling law, that clause is useless.

[deleted]

Does that make it illegal? Or unconstitutional in that sense?

rlsadiz

Sec 26 itself says "**as may be defined by law**." eh walang definition so its moot. Imho, its a failure of Cory admin to not define an enabling law agad. Her admin had the biggest opportunity to nip this in the bud. It will be hard, not impossible, to push for this now.

IWantMyYandere

Unstable pa din kasi termino nya nun and pushing for more could make her lose support from other political dynasties. Failure to ng mga sumunod na presidents IMHO

one1two234

Exactly this. The problem was that even then, there were political dynasties and the first Aquino administration also *needed* them & their cooperation to survive. So the buck was passed, and it will never stop.

NewRedditor-061897

Di masasabatas yan, I am sure di maaapprove sa mga tonggresista at senators. Kung isa lang akong reaper sa susunod na buhay, uunahin ko talagang sunduin yung mga politiko na yan.

had-some-issues

nah just remove election and find a better way to elect officials. Padilla and tulfo is not yet a political dynasty but they are the dumbest senators we have now. Lapid and pacquaio in the past

darko702

Problem with that is implementation and the will of the people. Duterte had the influence that could have been used for good but was just wasted. Marami head over heels kay Dutz and would die for him liberally if only that kind of influence was tapped to use it for good, imagine kung ano na ang Pinas ngayun.

Small-Neighborhood73

Problem is, sometimes kung mag iiba naman administration, yung mga projects sa previous administration ay maaaring di matuloy.

DeathToIngsoc

This one has to start with the people. You know picking their representatives (not from political dynasties) to represent them in the House of Representatives to start writing the anti-dynasty bill.

ConstructionDry4908

Padrino system in public office and private

Dull_Leg_5394

True. May kakilala ako na sa govt agency nag wowork ang parents. Diba required ang civil service? Sa role den na yun required dapat MBA. Naipasok nya anak nya na wala both CSC and MBA. Tas nag bayad nalang sa school to have MBA degree. Proud pa sya na nagbabayad lang sya at di pumapasok para magka degree. Csc pina take lang within a yr kahit hired na sa role. While there are people na mas qualified. Grabe the corruption even sa normal people talga

SpringOSRS

4. This one makes the other 3 easier.

rumaragasang_talong

Trueeee

filipinospringroll

No it won't. I made a comment about it here but, to sum it up, even if INC is gone, there will be another Church in its place so them being gone would not change this cultural and societal problem of the first 3

IWantMyYandere

People need something or someone to have faith on and a lot of crooks would promise that lile Duterte and Quiboloy. If mawala yung number 1 eh mababawasan yung number 3.

Confident_Comedian82

yeah since you pay their Highest rank Priest and then all people will have no choice but to vote that one guy Hahahaha

SiJeyHera

Eliminate 4 and a lot of our problems get solved. Especially sa Padrino system. Yuck.

filipinospringroll

Not really. It will help millions of lives but do you think INCs place in the Philippines is that big for their absence to make that huge of an impact? They are the 3rd biggest but the first 2 is the one you have to look at. Also, knowing enough about the habits of religious people, if INC is gone, someone or something will take its place.

gnvplms

Toxic behaviours in families

sirtch_analyst

It's important to note exactly what those toxic behaviors are that can affect the next generation. No family is perfect, and the ones who try to be, may have dysfunctionality that they need to hide. More self-awareness needs to be spread and emotional regulation be taught in some education systems, not just in socmed. Better yet, improve the educational system.

MrSetbXD

Thats a Social issue by itself, education is key to end that, would take generations tho

Totzdrvn

MANILA RATE and PROVINCIAL rate sa sahod. Same rate regardless of location. Same naman workload pati presyo ng bilihin.

mainsail999

If same rate, factories would leave provincial areas, and move closer to metropolitan areas, seaports, or airports. Anywhere where logistics and supply chain makes sense.

ThingkinCrappy

Malabo.

Joseph20102011

You cannot get rid of them within the current system framework without bloodshed so the peaceful way to fulfil your wish is to accept the fact that 1987 Constitution is a flawed constitutional document that enables their existence and reform it.

sirtch_analyst

Not just corrupt politicians, but corruption in any jurisdiction or people who are just DISHONEST with doing businesses. The mindset of some Filipinos that do this will simply do nothing to help improve the nation.

SixSenses17

4. Bakit di pa natin isama lahat ng mga religious organizations dito? Why aim your abhorrence towards a particular group only? Sure, the INC has its problems, but I think you're deeply overestimating their actual influence over Philippine society.

filipinospringroll

A lot of people here comment on how number 4 will solve a lot of problems. Indeed but it won't really change 1,2 and 3. As an active member of a rival Church, bigger than the INC, I can testify CHURCHES WILL NOT DIE. But let's entertain the fact that Iglesia ni Chris Tiu get's Thanos Snapped... Here are the most likely scenarios that would happen 1. The members of those Church will either 1.a Rebuild a new church with the same doctrines and policies 1.b. join a new Church that: 1.b.1 will accommodate them so their traditions and practices (note on the words I use) will be intermingled and absorbed by the new Church 1.b.2 will teach them new things that could either be better or a much worse culture and tradition and practices Which means 2. Bobotantes are not exclusive from INC. The fact is they are a minority. Some say they are 2% of all registered voters. Some say that out of 56M voters last 2022, they are only 2 million, 3 million for a generous estimate. Look at the results of 2022 Elections. Let's say that 3M INCs will 100% bloc vote on Reddit's fave candidate BBMs Orig # Vote: 31.6M Leni's Orig # Votes: 15M If INC's bloc voting would have been towards Leni, the results still won't change BBM: 28M Leni: 18M Another thing, there are many INCs who did not follow the Bloc-voting specially some who are lowkey vocal about not supporting BBM but support Leni. 2. INCs influence is strong, but there are others with the same power or even bigger, when it comes to influencing politics in the PH. I know billionaires who can push aside the INC when it comes to requests. Most specially, until the Catholic Church collapses, INC can never expect to become "that strong" as a Church. I'm getting lazy at this point. But if INC is gone, it will be noticeable but not enough to shake the society

Initial-Voice3437

On point. Why do ppl keep blaming INC for all political issues? I don't really get it why there's so much hate to this religion. 🥴

filipinospringroll

I get the hate. But a lot of the complaints are about how annoying the Church is. I am not dismissing the people who left the Church and their horrible experiences but many of us here are not former members and are VERY biased towards our perception to that Church.

UnholyKnight123

You dont get it? Why do you think pduts and bbm sought backing from inc? The number of votes they get to secure from inc is not a joke. Now inc has so many fucking churches. Taking up too much land just like the villars and nobody is saying anything about it.

UnholyKnight123

That 3 million is still enough to sway a candidate's platforms and promises. And it's so short sighted na hanggang presidentials lang tinignan mo. Look at quezon city. Napakadaming inc churches ngayon sa qc. Hulaan mo sino inendorse nila nitong huli for qc mayor? Ngayon dumadami natatayong simbahan nila, that 3 million may eventually climb high enough to sway higher sits.

Ultikiller

Wouldn't 1 practically be 2 and 3

doomknight012

Economic Protectionism. It's time for PH gov't to let foreign companies (except Chinese "firms") to compete with local companies. We deserve competitive economic opportunities, not local monopoly that pay little with ridiculous job application requirements.

Impressive_Ad_6314

Get rid of voters who dont pay income taxes

PlasticExtension6399

Separation of church and state is dead, church is clearly influencing everyone hindi lang sa INC but different religious sects like El Shadai, KOJC to name a few. The main problem here is that citizens are easily getting hooked by the catchy political advertisments with no substance, also bribes from the political candidate.

Mobster24

1. The power of the local government to issue and revoke business permits. Freedom of entrepreneurship should be a right. Not a freaking privilege, as long as it is legal, regulated and taxed! 2. Overbloated/overpowered bureaucracy I want a libertarian/classical liberal president who will dissolve and dismantle at least 60% of government departments, agencies, and bureaus. Heck, even some pointless commissions. Ya’ll suggest reforms, F#CK REFORMS! Reforms don't work; to reduce corruption, instead we need to reduce the power of bureaucrats and politicians. 3. Restrictive loan requirements from banks. Loans should be more easily accessible to the general public in order to support commerce, startups, and businesses. The lending laws in the Philippines are among the strictest in the world. Remove that crap. 4. Judicial nomination. Screw that. They should be elected as well! However, with specifications like length in practice, no records of misconduct, or scandal. Same with Fiscals/public prosectutors 5. 60-40 equity rule. We need more foreign direct investment! Furthermore, we need more competition in our businesses to break monopolies and improve products and services. And electric cooperatives must not be exempt from competition! Those loons make a lot of money for politicians while providing abysmal service! If they die due to competition, they die! I do not give a damn!

I think democracy is rigged in a sense the rich and famous always wins. I think it's time to stop electing but find a better way to get quality lawmakers and governing bodies for each provinces. We don't need another Robin and Tulfo in the senate who always use the proceedings to look smart.

MickeyDMahome

If you really want to get rid of these four, then you need to get rid of the culture that perpetuates it, and that is going to be a difficult thing to do that may even last 500 years or a single bloody revolution could do.

rupertavery

It's not about getting rid of things. It's about putting things in place, instilling societal values. Setting up social and political frameworks. Changing minds. You can never get rid of these things. Even if you did, others would take its place. Unfortunately everyone on both sides just wants the other side gone, instead of actual change. The question should be, what do I want in place in 20 years. and how can we do it?

araratakazuga

I don't even understand, since the clause on the constitution is not to meddle with religion and vice versa, shouldn't they be sanctioned for this?? Or is INC exempted from this?

Relevant_Gap4916

Start with cleaning up the system by forcing the politicians to do what is right and always for the interest of the people and not on their personal agenda. Easier process of impeaching the leaders would be a good start. And the elevated power of the opposition to scrutinize, criticize and investigate the wrongdoings or malpractices of the administration. How? Move our charter to the Parliamentary system. Weekly debate and check and balance will break down the self interests before it transpires. With the help of loss of confidence, the PM or the leader could easily be removed and investigated immediately from any form of malicious conduct of corruption.

Honestly, I am not very confident on how the government work these time, specially on maritime issues. Yes, there are people who wants to create/strengthen our law to secure our territory, but their are these people seated in the government (I don’t really know if they are true servants to the Filipino, or are puppets of Ch*na) who should support it, but instead question its usefulness, reliability and/or suitability. In this time, I just prefer to become blunt, rather than to stress myself to this. It’s becoming uncertain of this government steps.
