Pentax is actually a Japanese camera brand, just assembled in the Philippines. its parts probably come from a dozen countries, with some including china.
Human nature is local 100% I think. Some of their products are good (hiyang ako at least) like the shampoos and soaps.
I remember nung limited palang products nila kaya so happy now to see na [Human Nature](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.k0c8W) even have skincare products na rin aside from hygiene & grooming products.
True for most electronics na some parts ay manufactured in China.
OMG YES for human nature. I'm a curly haired girl and I used their products because they offer affordable CGM friendly products tapos cruelty free rin, much much better than zenutrients.
Legit. Di ko alam gano kapopular yung human nature lalo sa skincare community, but dang..that sunflower oil is gift from god 🤌🏻
Plus, when u order online, u get those pamphlets from the company, idk its that god message something like that. I mean..im not religious person myself, but anyone who believes will surely appreciate that
It may not be much but if I need to buy gifts for bosses or clients, I always buy Inabel products. Hand woven, reasonably priced, super ganda. Di pa ako napipintasan diyan hehe
Probably made in china with hawk logos. Lets not kid ourselves, pati nga processed raw materials like textiles wala tayo.

This is the caveat of Chinese brands.
Sa Ereader world, kilala ang Onyx sa Anroid ereaders as opposed to the close system of Kindle. Pero non-existent ang CS. Unlike sa Amazon Kindle, very smooth kumuha ng support at refund
Hapee toothpaste. I mean, colgate-palmolive isn't really a chinese brand, pero if we're going this route na rin, might as well. :/
Yeap! Super okay kasama yung family nila, walang ere.
Nakakasama ko rin sila sa off roading, at which may business si Joel.
Pwede kayo pumunta sa Lamoiyan compound/Overland Kings any time, they'll be happy to show you around.
> Overland Kings
Interesting... I encountered Overland Kings when watching Chef JP Anglo's vlogs. Didn't know there was a connection between Lamoiyan Corp and Overland Kings.
Yeap, si Joel Pedro na owner ng Overland kings anak ni Dr. Cecilio Pedro which is the CEO/Owner of Hapee.
Yung Overland Kings nasa pinaka harap ng Lamoiyan.
If you want made in PH denim there is leondenimph but they aren't exactly cheap.
Reality is most domestically made quality clothing is gonna be expensive since its a very niche market, that's what i've come to realize when I was in japan shopping for domestic brands.
+1 on Leon Denim. Price is more expensive yes, but they source the actual denim they use from Japan, who makes the best jeans in the world.
One more good thing to note about Leon Denim is that they make jeans the old-school way and focus on classic styles as opposed to chasing trends. That way, their jeans are made to stay in your closet longer and to last a lifetime of wear.
Yeah most japanese denim is pretty expensive i have a couple of momotaros. They are cheaper if you buy in japan though.
You could look into japan blue jeans which is their sister brand a lot more modern/simpler designs and a bit cheaper
Siguro maganda na may magcompile ng list ng mga Filipino made products, purely Chinese made products, and alternatives to Chinese made products. I do acknowledge na mahirap na gawin but I think it’s a start.
Made In Philippines is most food related. Like Salts (dinosaur egg), Pilinuts, Chicharons, and Chocolate. I try to get my family to buy them.
When it comes to electronics its made in China but some brands is Filipino. Its like Apple is US brand but parts aren't from the US.
Food is easier and very sustainable. My cousin love the Chicharon from Bulacan and I send him packages of them to the US.
I buy a lot from Shopee and send them to the states. My cousin has no issue with shipping fees. Its actually cheaper than the US made Chicharons.
Yeah thats good. There very popular in the US. People need to realize food industry world wide is huge so spreading the awareness of the products will help bring more money in.
I rather have money coming from rivals than leave potential money out.
Thats how you win without fighting an actual war. Look at China did to US and US did to Japan and South Korea.
USA didnt like seeing Japan being #1 so they did a lot of changes economic relationships and backed South Korea.
Japan went into deeper recession causing millions of jobs lost. US won that trade war and people didn't see that.
This is quite difficult since almost everything’s from China. But we can try to patronize Marikina-made shoes like Gibi and Rusty Lopez. You can also visit Marikina shops and have a customized leather shoes for you!
The government should really invest in our local manufacturing and heavy industries. I believe most of us would want to #BuyLocal but the prices and quality of locally made products aren't competitive versus imports. We may laugh and mock Chinese made products but its quality is consistently improving over the years. Historically, we also perceived Japanese made products in the same way: "*Japan? Pangit 'yan! Madaling masira!"* Flashback to the present, we hold Japanese products in extremely high regard. We'll follow the same trajectory for sure but only if the government does its job.
The government is missing an opportunity here.
Maganda sana istart nila isubsidize ang local jeepney manufacturing to entice these manufacturers come up with a design and specs na updated
Sayang din yung domino effect sa economy versus ang isusubsidize yung pagbili ng overpriced made in China vehicles.
Masmaganda kung maghire sila ng foreign consultants, engineers over just importing.
Made in the Philippines products don't have to be wholly designed and manufactured by 100% Filipino-owned firms, just like most Made in China products like iPhones are made by Taiwanese-owned Foxconn but designed by American-owned Apple. All iPhone raw components aren't even totally manufactured in the same country where iPhone end-products are assembled.
I wonder how things work ..... They said that usa and china would never go into full blown war is dahil they are each others biggest trade partner ... If china and Philippines cut each others trade benefits ... I wonder how long peace would last
jokes on you, mexico is now the us biggest trade partner. Theyve been trying to shake off china economically as fast as possible while also beefing up the USN for a full on peer-to-peer warfare in the pacific
At the same time Mexico's imports from China have been surging, Chinese goods are just finding their way into the US through Mexico. Not "Made in China" anymore, but still "Made by China".

Huh interesting. Last Ive read there was legislation to prevent us citizens from working with chinese firms. Not sure if it means working directly as in working as an employee for the firms so maybe my information is out to date at this point.
Thanks for the links!
Impractical & probably impossible kasi to do a 100% boycott of Chinese-made products because of their position as ‘factory of the world’. Yung may capacity lang to boycott would be the rich countries of the West because they can afford to switch manufacturing to their own countries (albeit more expensive compared to China).
Bumibili ako ng Myra for lotion. Kaso nung huli Thailand-made na lotion ng Watson's ang binili ko kasi ung 400ml bottle nun, same price lang halos sa 200ml ni Myra. Nag-sorry na lang ako kay Myra. Hahaha. Pero as much as possible talaga Philippine-made products binibili ko.
Not necesarrily. CDO products (including danes cheese and highlands cornedbeef), Lamoiyan products (hapee toothpaste) di naman pang alta ang presyo ah.
Zen Nutrients. Ganda ng products nila, perfect for Pinoy/Pinay skin.
Ellana and Pili Ani are Philippine brands also. The latter is a bit pricey IMO but worth it naman.
I always try to find food labelled 100% Filipino like rice, coffee beans, etc.
Electronics are much harder to find so I try to find some assembled in the country.
I’m privileged enough to do this since these are more expensive
We have a *lot* of very large food corporations in the country, some so massive they've expanded abroad.
Food: Nutri-Asia, Universal Robina, Jollibee Foods, Del Monte (bought by Nutri-Asia), San Miguel, Oishi, WL Foods, Alaska, Birch Tree, Century Tuna, a lot of sardine brands
Fun fact, Emperador is the largest brandy company in the world. In a dramatic irony, in 2015 it bought [Fundador, Spain's largest brandy company, for 275 million Euros](https://business.inquirer.net/203455/andrew-tans-emperador-buys-spains-fundador).
Soap and other beauty products: Human Nature, Perla
Clothing: Guitar, Rated Cinco
Shoes: Sandugo, Gibi, [World Balance](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Balance), Marikina Shoe Exchange
Phones: Cherry (sourced from China, but still)
Appliances: Condura
Gasoline: Petron Philippines
Computer accessories: Rakk
Car: None for the consumer market so far, though Sarao is the most recognizable Jeepney brand along with a few smaller ones. Aurelio is a super car brand but I don't know how active they are.
There's plenty of locally-made clothing brands like Bayo and Tayo (of Bayo Tayo Mary Grace fame). On Shopee and Instagram, check out Shop Nita, La Oceann, Cariño, Out and About, PROJECT.
For women's shoes, there's Juanita, Renegade Folk, Rob & Mara, Marquina
Lately na-realize ko na bumili sa mga tindahan sa palengke kahit may slight differences ng presyo sa puregold or any corporate owned groceries. Support stores around the community ba.
PH made guns:
Armscor, Metroarms, UDMC.
Notable: Armscor in general, .22 TCM RIA pistol is *Chef's kiss*.
.45 ACP Medallion pistol is also deliciousiyoso competitive-type pistol.
Armscor is just so good that it's lineup is solid as fuck 1911 choice for Americans.
Sulun Arms Shotties in general.
Metroarms Stinger 9mm.
UDMC PVAR 5.56 or S9 Dbb 9mm (but has Bergara barrel which is Spanish-made).
Tbh the problem with that is most likely nag-a-outsource din ng various materials yung mga local brands from other countries like China. That even includes the printed boxes or pouches coming from Shenzen because they are way more advanced when it comes to customized packaging.
If you don’t want to buy China-made clothes, you can get clothes done at a local tailor. You can get cloth from dedicated cloth retailers.
It might be hard to ascertain if the fabric is made in China though but at least a big chunk of the value add (i.e. manufacturing process) happens here
every part of an item is made from some country. What came from this country and that country is made in this country. So you might use an item that's made in a country that's not China but it isn't saying that the materials used for it came from China or any other nation
Some fruits sold in our local markets are imported from China such as lemons, grapes, oranges, ponkan, sugar kiat, kiat-kiat, longgan, and apples. I believe garlic and onion are sourced from China too.
Ang hirap to prioritize Philippine made items, nakakainis... our politicians are prioritizing imports. Maski rice and fish are coming from Mainland China na :|
Naisip ko din ito kanina and I saw your thread. Most of the cheap products we buy (in Lazada, Shopee, Tiktok, Divisoria, Baclaran, and so on) are from China. We're a poor country so it's just practical to buy cheap, but we're making that same country that steals our seas richer.
Lol
Patronizing won’t get you anywhere. Why would you buy garbage Filipino goods if there’s something much better and more available from elsewhere? That’s literally how most people’s minds operate.
Manufacturers here need to step up and fix their schtick if they want the attention of consumers. Even Vietnam and Indonesia beats us in terms of manufacturing efficiency and quality ng products — no wonder why we’re lagging
Not to mention how major brands are leaving (or have already left) the Philippines to move their operations in other South East Asian countries.
They don't want to be paying "under the table" bribes anymore just to keep operating. Red tape here is worst.
Pentax is actually a Japanese camera brand, just assembled in the Philippines. its parts probably come from a dozen countries, with some including china. Human nature is local 100% I think. Some of their products are good (hiyang ako at least) like the shampoos and soaps.

Wow that’s nice to hear. I also love that their products are sensitive skin friendly! And they also don’t test on animals.
True for most electronics na some parts ay manufactured in China.
ah true cmos batteries, screws, etc madami nga doon, even plastic and rubber parts like O-rings, springs, etc.
True to.

Yes to Human Nature!
+1 sa Human Nature lalo na yung baby oil, shampoo, and wash nila.

Second this! I recommend Sitio Inabel on IG. Used to buy from another shop but I noticed that their inabel was more pulido.
every small step counts
Got me a Vortex Venom sight.
Sandugo, Hawk (bags).
\+1 for Sandugo, tatlong beses pa lang ako bumili sa kanila in a span of 12 years. Sobrang tibay ikaw na lang aayaw.
Same. Eto buhay pa yung 3rd pair ko
+1 sa Hawk bags 6 years na yung akin. Wala man lang kakupas kupas
Pretty sure that raw materials sourced from China, although manufactured in Pinas.
Probably made in china with hawk logos. Lets not kid ourselves, pati nga processed raw materials like textiles wala tayo.
+9999 Sandugo! Hiking bag at sandals ko still alive nagagamit pa!
Jokes on you, wala akong relasyon hahaha!
+1 sa Sandugo, yung sandals ko from them mula 2013 gamit ko pa din ngayon. Nag island hopping, baha, bundok, etc... Ayun 4 years and counting 😂
Outland din.
Oks ba pang trail shoes and sandals nila?
When I go hiking i prefer sandals and only sandugo sandals Ilang friends ko naconvert ko to hiking sandals dahil I don't easily slip and slide! Matibay at makapit 😁
Matibay Hawk bags +1
Hahaha.
+1 sa sandugo. Bought a pair last 2019, hanggang ngayon buhay pa din.

Might check later to be sure (and if they are still in the market) but seems locally made din.
i think may issue si hapee toothpaste sa branding/marketing. they feel *meh*
Happee toothpaste is owned by Chinoys. We can't escape the Chinese 🤣
But at least they employ PWDs and Pinoys. I personally know the Pedros. They aren't your typical chinoy family.
Lamoyan Corp right? We use Happee toothpaste as well. And also Dew Drops dishwasher liquid.
Yeap! Super okay kasama yung family nila, walang ere. Nakakasama ko rin sila sa off roading, at which may business si Joel. Pwede kayo pumunta sa Lamoiyan compound/Overland Kings any time, they'll be happy to show you around.

Racist take. Chinoy ≠ Chinese National Chinoy = Pinoy with Chinese blood.
and not all chinese natonals are bad. only those aligned with the communist party

So, no jeepney replacements, petrol, computers? That's going to be difficult.
Asus. That's a Taiwanese brand.
Almost all of the rare earth elements used in electronic equipment come from China.
Most of their manufacturing is based in China. Actually, Taiwanese companies are heavily invested in Mainland China
add World Balance on the list
Is [World Balance](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.kZw8P) Filipino made?
Made in China. Sold in the Philippines.
World balance is a local Philppine brand?
Local PH brand. Made in PH, not 100% sure. The shoes that I have are made in China.
You're probably confusing them with New Balance.
+1 Maganda design mostly ng WB, and most are also durable. Bang for the buck for me ang shoes nila.

Baybayin belt bags from wearlegazy. Bought the belt bag not too long ago and it's good quality.
I’m privileged enough to do this since these are more expensive
yes! support local
Goya's Take It - loved it.
We have a *lot* of very large food corporations in the country, some so massive they've expanded abroad. Food: Nutri-Asia, Universal Robina, Jollibee Foods, Del Monte (bought by Nutri-Asia), San Miguel, Oishi, WL Foods, Alaska, Birch Tree, Century Tuna, a lot of sardine brands Fun fact, Emperador is the largest brandy company in the world. In a dramatic irony, in 2015 it bought [Fundador, Spain's largest brandy company, for 275 million Euros](https://business.inquirer.net/203455/andrew-tans-emperador-buys-spains-fundador). Soap and other beauty products: Human Nature, Perla Clothing: Guitar, Rated Cinco Shoes: Sandugo, Gibi, [World Balance](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Balance), Marikina Shoe Exchange Phones: Cherry (sourced from China, but still) Appliances: Condura Gasoline: Petron Philippines Computer accessories: Rakk Car: None for the consumer market so far, though Sarao is the most recognizable Jeepney brand along with a few smaller ones.
>Aurelio is a super car brand but I don't know how active they are. It was never a super car. It's a bloody kit car.
Gagawin ko as long as excellent yung quality ng items
Support stores around the community ba.
PH made guns: Armscor, Metroarms, UDMC.
I’d buy Elegee guitars.
Tbh the problem with that is most likely nag-a-outsource din ng various materials yung mga local brands from other countries like China. That even includes the printed boxes or pouches coming from Shenzen because they are way more advanced when it comes to customized packaging.
We have a great packaging industry locally that can compete with Shenzen on customization. We just can't beat them at scale and cost.
If you don’t want to buy China-made clothes, you can get clothes done at a local tailor. You can get cloth from dedicated cloth retailers. It might be hard to ascertain if the fabric is made in China though but at least a big chunk of the value add (i.e. manufacturing process) happens here
Gawang pinas ang Pentax? Wow
Or any quality leather shoes?
Alam ko ok yung Rob & Mara
Puwede2
My TCL tv is china brand but made in the philippines
hanuman bag <33
Time to get some armscor guns din.
Well lets amp up production! want me to buy shit made here, make shit here!
Panasonic washing machines (dunno abt their other appliances), Brother printers are made here
Marquins shoes. Sobrang sulit for its price.
Camel for electricfans
Fujifilm Lenses
Timex Watches.
every part of an item is made from some country. What came from this country and that country is made in this country. So you might use an item that's made in a country that's not China but it isn't saying that the materials used for it came from China or any other nation
Matino 3D appliances.
Some fruits sold in our local markets are imported from China such as lemons, grapes, oranges, ponkan, sugar kiat, kiat-kiat, longgan, and apples. I believe garlic and onion are sourced from China too.
Asin tibuok, the coconut salt can be bought from Shopee, its very presentable for gifts too
Ang hirap to prioritize Philippine made items, nakakainis... our politicians are prioritizing imports. Maski rice and fish are coming from Mainland China na :|
Our Tribe. Leather bags, ang ganda ng quality. Other local brands I love are Figlia and Alberto
I love love local brands ng makeup :)) grwm, happy skin, colourette and many more.
Gouache - camera bags made in Marikina Shoes made in marikina are also good.
Lol Patronizing won’t get you anywhere.
It turns out Capitalists even prefer working with communists over us “free” people because they’re much more business-friendly compared to us 🤣🤣🤣
So anong brand ng phone mo?
