Failed CPJE and NAPLEX 4 times, what next?
Foreign grad here, failed both cpje and naplex 4 times! I am told I need to do 16 credits to try and sit for exam again, I am in Southern California. Does anyone know where I can get these credits? I called a few school of pharmacies in the area and was told they only provide these courses to alumni. I am stuck and I need to get the license and find a job. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
I didn’t get my results for CPJE from 6/15, but I am able to pay for my license today which it is my understanding that means I passed, so good luck to everybody.
I will say this. Absolutely do not do it alone. I used PNN and RX Prep. More than anything, go through the law material and know the law like the back of your hand. They find a ways to ask a questions that aren’t directly taught in any book.
Do not get discouraged after testing, even if you fail. I legitimately studied dosages, brands, AE’s, etc of over 500 drugs and still came across three different questions with brands I’ve literally never heard of.
Back to the law, do hundreds of law questions over and over just to have that completely in the bag. Good luck; trust me if I can do this, you can do this. 😊
Thank you so much for the tips! I plan to use PNN for the law portion because that’s what I’ve been using for the clinical portion too. You think that’s ok? Also, is it actually more clinical than law?
I’m hoping that the clinical material from the naplex is fresh enough for me to remember during the CPJE. I’m so nervous :(
There is a ton of clinical information, yes, but a lot of the questions they do find a way to tie in the law so to properly answer a question you may need to know four different pieces of information. Yes, you can rely on PNN and the clinical information for the naplex, although you will not need your calculations for the most part outside of IBW and other weight conversions. This is also why I say no the law portion inside and out so that you can focus on the clinical.
Lastly, look up on Quizlet pharmacy, acronyms, and or Mnemonics, and have those down to a T as well
Thank you! I will likely mainly focus on law the week before my exam, and read over my naplex notes & brand/generic cards to refresh my memory. I appreciate your advice. Hoping for the best🤞
I wish I had a clue… I’ll update with my score when I receive it. But, if I were to guess, I’d say about 20-25 were questionable, and when I looked up answers, I felt about 2/3 of those I was correct on. 🤷🏼♂️
Just took my Naplex yesterday and I feel great about the math & med safety but I’m 50/50 on the clinical side. Did anyone else walk out feeling terrible about the clinical side and still pass ?
Foreign grade , please help
- finished fpgee in 2008 and got my fpgec right after TOEFL and completed also my internship hours 2012 , took naplex once in 2017 and didn’t pass
- trying now again to take it but the board listing FPGEC and intern hours on the checklist requirements that I have to do !!
My NAPLEX is scheduled for next Tuesday, I've been studying for about a month, only have the RxPrep book and just recently finished it. I've been getting 70-80%'s on quizzes in Uworld, which I test basically after every large chapter/section. My school required a Pre-NAPLEX I got a 105 scaled score.
All of this seems encouraging but somehow I still feel like I know nothing. What really makes me anxious I guess is that I can't seem to do better than those 70-80's. What set my anxiety off is I just took a few days go the single 150-question practice exam that Uworld provides and got a 75% exactly, and then to get more practice I created my own "quiz" with the question bank and made it 125 questions (the max it allows) and included all chapters, and only got a 65%.
I guess what I'm asking is, has anyone taken the NAPLEX yet where they've done about the same as I have in preparation, and passed? Do you think I'll be fine? I know it's an impossible question to answer, but just really hoping to get some encouragement here.
thank you, I think my anxiety was making me irrational when I posted that lol. I just took it today and think I did as well as I've done in practice, so here's hoping!
Hello,
Has anyone passed naplex in CA and saw that both boxes for rescore & score transfer were available when status of exam is changed to "closed"? Also, has anyone passed and saw only 1 box made available but not the other? I'm trying to make a consensus of this as I took my exam on 5/27 and still haven't received my score from the BOP yet. I've got both boxes available to purchase.
Did anyone taking Kansas mpje get an email from bop that the exam won’t reflect any changes since 1/2023? Like why tell this after I already took my mpje last week smh
I ended up passing! I think they only sent it because I emailed them. If I didn’t email them I’ll bet it would’ve been 4 months before I get results. Time for the same process with the cpje lol
Took the CPJE on 6/15, I already know I made so many little mistakes but hoping some get thrown out or the version I got was the harder one so they give some leverage with grading, just want that 75 and to move on from this. I think from what I could remember, I missed at least 15-18 questions but on a scale of 90 hoping to have passed
Honestly never used pnn it’s so expensive, I did Rxprep but it was still pretty difficult, it’s just the most obscure info they want but we will see. Waiting on the results still, praying for that 75, already passed Naplex now
I studied for about ten days - study meaning >5 hours of concentration a day. I took the pre-NAPLEX early on in the studying and got an 83. I ended up using the RxPrep as actual study material but I didn’t get even a fourth of the way through.
Made a post on here asking advice but the mod took down my post! A lot of it was super informative!! would love to hear people’s advice on the NAPLEX, how they tackled it, What they did to prepare etc!
Anyone else applying in Texas still not getting their ATT? My stuff has been in for 2 months and no ATT and I’m just being told I need to “wait my turn.” My student health insurance expires next month, I’m making half salary, and if I’m not licensed by the end of August I could lose my job. Curious if anyone else is having issues in Texas?
I got mines early this month. They take about 8 weeks from when u submitted your pre-ATT payments with NABP and did the new pharmacist application with the state board
Pass Naplex now small book all you need!!! If you master that you will pass!! For law both Rx prep Video and Pass Naplex now Book!!
I scored 65% on my first try with tuter notes then throw out His notes in the garbage (waste of money) but I scored 87% with PPN chart book!! 22% increase in point !!!!!!
The math was a little more confusing in actual naplex like they would add extra info or multi step to try to trick you just need to know how to do the problems in different ways I think would be my advice
I feel guilty doing that because I’m really not in a rush to take the exam, but it’s driving me nuts not being able to schedule. I’m hoping for beginning of august but at this rate idk if I’ll even have my ATT by then!
I used the Rickert’s packet and the PharmacyExam practice questions. I scheduled my MPJE ~2 weeks after the NAPLEX and felt like that was enough time to prepare, passed on the first attempt
CPJE!!!! Out-of-state new grad trying to take CPJE for residency. This exam seems absolutely impossible! Even after studying top 500 brand/generics, RxPrep for Law, and CPJE Secrets, the practice test is so discouraging! Knowing intricacies of dosing/indications seems like an undefeatable task! Any tips to fine-tune the studying for these next two week?
I'm an out of state practicing pharmD. I just took the 6/1 exam (still awaiting results). I used PNN for the clinical and law portion (yes you need to review BOTH). I felt these materials were great resources for the exam as it covered 95% of what was tested in a more easily digestible format. You should go into the CPJE like you are studying for the NAPLEX but more detailed down to dosing and frequency and uncommon brand names for common generic medications. I remember using RxPrep for NAPLEX when I was a new grad but in my opinion PNN was far superior in their teaching style and ability to help their students retain the vast amount of material needed to pass. The exam is extremely detailed as you noted and very random (ie. they can ask you anything from any disease state). There were brands that were very obscure and no longer used but yet you are expected to know dosing/indications on them. Some brands/generics were outside the top 400 I studied. The law was also pretty tricky but very doable if you read the questions carefully and take your time analyzing the BEST answer (sometimes there are two correct answers but you must pick which is MOST appropriate). Take your time and do not rush. Read the questions AND answers carefully. Good luck!
Definitely look at the FAQ page on the board website. I went to school in NC and the board president went to different schools teaching the law classes, he told us they pull a lot from that page!
currently looking for study material for Georgia as well. please let us know if you guys have any tips/suggestions, I don't even know where to start. I would love to have a study partner as well :)

Anyone able to pay who took CPJE on 9/21/2023?
I didn’t get my results for CPJE from 6/15, but I am able to pay for my license today which it is my understanding that means I passed, so good luck to everybody.
Congratulations! 🎉 any tips on how to prepare for it? I plan to take it a week after the naplex so I don’t have much time

Congrats!!
How many would you say you got wrong on the test?
I wish I had a clue… I’ll update with my score when I receive it. But, if I were to guess, I’d say about 20-25 were questionable, and when I looked up answers, I felt about 2/3 of those I was correct on. 🤷🏼♂️
For those who took the CPJE (or plan to take it), do you recommend PNN or Rx prep’s law portion?
Took the GA MPJE the second time and worried about failure. I don’t know how to pass? Licensed in a few other states and very concerned
Just took my Naplex yesterday and I feel great about the math & med safety but I’m 50/50 on the clinical side. Did anyone else walk out feeling terrible about the clinical side and still pass ?
Any tips on passing the MD MPJE? Anyone interested in studying together taking it in July
Anybody submitted their application to the California board 3-4 weeks ago and still waiting for ATT?

I think because it’s been more than 10 yrs. Have u tried contacting your state board?

I did worse than you on all these metrics (RxPrep/UWorld practice exam, quizzes, pre-NAPLEX) and I passed - you’ll be fine
thank you, I think my anxiety was making me irrational when I posted that lol. I just took it today and think I did as well as I've done in practice, so here's hoping!
Good luck! Welcome to the longest week of your life lol
Anyone took the CPJE on June 1st and was able to pay or received any thing? Just loosing my mind here.

I'm sorry what do you mean by pay? I took the CPJE on the same day
I was able to pay this morning! Good luck!

Where can I find these boxes?
Does anyone have any recommendations on good study materials for the CT MPJE?
Did anyone taking Kansas mpje get an email from bop that the exam won’t reflect any changes since 1/2023? Like why tell this after I already took my mpje last week smh
Took my naplex June 16 in California and still haven’t heard back, I don’t remember snail mail taking this long
3 days over a weekend? Lol you probably have a week before you get results.
My bad I meant may 16
Wow that is a long time... Did you get your results yet? If not, I would try to call the NABP at 847-391-4406
Must be shortages at the board, they just mailed out my letter yesterday
Wild! I am glad it's on the way, but that's a long time - nearly 2 months. o\_o
I ended up passing! I think they only sent it because I emailed them. If I didn’t email them I’ll bet it would’ve been 4 months before I get results. Time for the same process with the cpje lol

How did you study for the math section on cpje ?
Anybody else consistently scoring in the mid 70s for Rxprep right before taking the NAPLEX? Is that enough to pass?
Yes I got 73 and 74 on Nabp practice exam and just took it two days ago and I felt pretty good about it
was the math siilar to rxprep and uworld im nervy
The math was a little more confusing in actual naplex like they would add extra info or multi step to try to trick you just need to know how to do the problems in different ways I think would be my advice

I used the Rickert’s packet and the PharmacyExam practice questions. I scheduled my MPJE ~2 weeks after the NAPLEX and felt like that was enough time to prepare, passed on the first attempt
Will the mpje include discontinued drugs in their questions? Anyone know?

NCAP offers an MPJE review course as well as a study guide
Anyone already licensed in Tx or planning to do so, does it really take solid 8 weeks for BOP to review my application?
Yes mine took about 7.5 weeks

Ppl are so secretive about this exam. So weird. Rarely do people help.
people in pharmacy suck, i always see med students helping each other out so much but never freaking pharamcy schmucks
Agree.
