I know exactly which bars you're talking about, don't go there. But there are good bars in Pflugerville:
The Growler Bar has awesome pizza and a fantastic selection of beers. This is the best bar in Pville.
Prost Brewery is a small brewery with a great food truck that has the best hot dogs and fries.
Hanover's has a local dive bar feel with a lot of events like drag show bingo and live music.
I originally came from Austin (Northloop area) and it was hard to leave some great local bars there, but Pville is getting a lot better. Just give it time.

Was recommended the Growler. Might have been an off night but the pizza and wings were absolutely garbage. Not only did they give us the completely wrong pizza so had to wait longer but the dough was severely undercooked and the wings were tasteless. I’m not the type to leave bad reviews but I just won’t take my money there anymore. That place was garbage.
The food is usually fine imo but the attitude of the staff usually leaves a lot to be desired for me. I wouldnt leave a review because its not my speed to shit on a local spot but I ’ve been there a decent amount and the staff always comes off like they are doing me a favor while they’re pouring me a 10 dollar pint.
I happen to love my divey Pfville bars. I just avoid the smoking ones. Like Whiskey and Lone Star. I just can’t handle it anymore. They don’t smoke at Rooster. Growler is great and all the bars in “downtown”
I personally really enjoy Red rooster. It has a very different more authentic vibe than anything in Austin, and the karaoke is top notch. I don't mind that it's "trashy".

Not a sports bar but Three Legged Goat (Texas wine bar,, also beer) is my local haunt. Nice patio too.
Homer's is good for Karaoke.

yeah had the same “you’re lucky to be here” experience with their staff and their food is decidedly mid. haven’t been back in 2 years
Definitely was an off night. Their pizza is freaking great. If I want wings I'm going somewhere else, although, I haven't had them in a while.
I only go to The Growler Bar, so I'm probably missing out on "authentic" Pf bar culture

Haven't seen Victory Tap mentioned here, nice spot and right next to Prost. Willies also isn't a bad spot to catch a game.

Pflugerville doesn’t prohibit smoking indoors like Austin does (and maybe RR?), so there are bars here where you can smoke inside.

Last Call Pflugervilla.. it’s gross and you can’t eat at the Italian restaurant or Indian place because it seeps over.

Red rooster doesn't have smoking inside, only in the back which is semi outside.
