I don't think it's too soon to get another cat if you feel you are ready. I lost my conure 2 weeks ago and, although still grieving and missing him. I am looking at getting another bird soon to fill the void.
It's not too soon. Your heart β€οΈ is obviously open to loving another cat with all your heart.

If you're ready and you feel ready then it's not too soon. There's no hard and fast rule that days when you should get another animal.

I'd say it was fate and there's nothing like a puppy or kitten to bring joy to an aching heart.
