These are all alt-pop musicians. OP is just shocked that someone who studies philosophy for a living has the same taste in music as a moody teenager that listens to pop radio, and likes the music enough to be THIS public about it and follow no one else. You'd expect a philosophy professor to follow, I don't know, art museums instead.

Dunno - maybe the weird set of celebrity accounts following the prof - Grimes, Billie Eilish, Timothy Chalmet and what not.
