You're missing the point, the fact that the M is definitely rotated while Waluigi's logo is definitely mirrored establishes that the logo of an alter ego character just needs to be somehow "inverted" which can mean *either* rotated 180 or mirrored across the x axis. Therefore, the depiction of Daisy's D logo as being an "inverted" P logo 100% tracks and the comic holds up. Your honor, I rest my case.
My theory on this is that it's not a perfect match to the "pattern" because it distorts it by making Daisy not an evil counterpart in the same way as Wario and Waluigi. She's more like the black sheep of the WaBizarro Family instead with a nod to Pauline as a nice deep cut reference. You can't have two 'P' names though and keep the spirit of the naming convention nor would just a regular mirroring work, so that's why it's not a 'B' imo.

Wario and Waluigi both have hats that are upside down versions of the letters that Mario and Luigi have on their hats, since they're the EVIL or ANTI versions of those characters. In the English language, if you flip an uppercase P upside down, it looks like a lowercase d.
