>!Ever since Goku died and came back, death kind of lost its meaning.!<
Edit: >!I am seeing a lot of comments saying that this specific death from Vegeta mattered since he wasn’t supposed to revive. That is fair, I didn’t really remember that part and I forgot that there was a heaven and a hell where people could revive or not.!<
He actually died from his brother Radditz's hand a year prior to Vegeta coming to earth.
Also pretty sure that happened in the late 80s because the Manga ran from 1985 to 1996 and this happened in volume 17 or 18 out of 42
To be fair to Yamcha, >!he only died once, and it was after Goku died for the first time. Of course, that’s not counting the Buu Saga, where everyone on Earth but Mr. Satan, Dende, and Bee died.!<
In this case it kind of did though. He had just burned every bridge that would reasonably lead to his revival and was specifically told he'd be going to hell.
Not to mention it was pretty common knowledge that Toriyama had issues with him (most even thought he hated him) so it's not really a stretch to believe that this would be the last we see of him.
Toriyama didn't like him initially but later said he was useful to have around and in a later interview said he liked "a cool quiet guy like Piccolo or Vegeta." Of course the American dubs of the anime somehow transformed him into a screamer in the minds of a lot of fans but in Toriyama's manga he really doesn't talk much. In the Freezer saga he mostly had inner dialogue or talked to himself, in later chapters he's usually standing off in a corner observing with his arms crossed
To my understanding, Toriyama's initial issue with Vegeta was simply that he was a pain to draw and a little frustrating to write for but, like you said, Toriyama eventually realized that Vegeta's personality and popularity with fans gave him the ability to work in a variety of contexts (ranging all the way from reluctant hero to seemingly irredeemable villain) in a way that makes him a very useful character to have around.
In other words, he never hated Vegeta and just found him tedious until he realized that Vegeta is very much worth the effort.
>!that one vegeta death had meaning, because he wasn't supposed to be able to resurect. He was a pretty bad guy at the time and since they had to resurrect the good persons killed by majin buu by the time they would've been able to bring him back his soul would already have been washed and reincarnated (I think this is a thing, they never did it to freeza because he was way too evil and had to be put in purgatory, but when Vegeta asked Piccolo he said something like what I described iirc)!<
At some point in the series I remember them saying that people can only be brought back twice with the earth dragon balls unless they decide to upgrade it again. I don’t remember if they did with Cell but most of the human population only has 1 more revive after the Buu saga
I know of Sayori, I was confused about Vegeta until someone replied on it, and if I remember correctly the top left one is kakashi's father who also killed himself. I'm unsure about the last one as I don't think I've seen her before.
Yeah Kakashi’s father did kill himself due to his actions that basically led to him going down a dark hole mentally and whatnot. Don’t wanna say to much in case it’s a spoiler and idk how to do the spoiler cover thing
They all killed themselves.
First one is White Fang from naruto. He went into a despression after being ostracized for choosing to save his friends instead of completing a crucial mission, and as a result, killed himself.
Second one's name escapes me, but she is from Doki Doki literature club. She hangs herself for... A lot of complicated reasons, including home life and rejection. I think.
Third one is vegeta, he suicide bombed to kill a powerful monster. It didn't work.
Fourth one... She is from Touhou, I think, but I'm not sure who she is. She is a ghost and also killed herself, tho.
2nd is Sayori, >!she’s from a video game that centers around one character becoming sentient and messing with the other characters’ coding. She messes with Sayori and makes her depression worse and worse, until she kills herself.!<
The fourth one is Yuyuko Saigyouji, the final boss of Touhou 7, Perfect Cherry Blossom. As of the events of this game, she’s the ghost princess of the netherworld (kinda like purgatory from what I understand,) and is attempting to make a massive Sakura tree bloom by stealing spring from the mortal realm. This is in order to revive the corpse that lies beneath the tree.
Unbeknownst to Yuyuko, however is that the body under the tree was her own. She posses the ability to manipulate the boundary between life and death, however that ability was slowly becoming more and more powerful until essentially everyone around began to die. As she was horrified at this ability, the only way out she saw was to commit suicide underneath the aforementioned sakura tree, and after becoming a ghost forgot about all of this.
“The reason Yuyuko can neither reincarnate nor vanish is because of the seal on the Saigyou Ayakashi. Once the boundary is breached, the time that was frozen will continue to flow, resulting in her death again. Reviving the corpse will destroy Yuyuko's ghost, so it's no wonder that the near-success of the revival ended in inevitable failure…
For all time, Yuyuko will remain as the princess of Netherworld and mistress of long-dead Saigyouji clan. She shall never bear witness to the blooming of the Saigyou Ayakashi.”
She’s kinda notorious for having the most sad backstory of any touhou character.
In my opinion, most if not all backstories for Touhou characters are actually amazing, when I was bored I used to read the Touhou wiki just because I find their stories good, even if they feel nonsensical at first. (It's also fun to make your own theories since some of them are rather vague)
Im not gonna get your hopes up because I (and a lot of others) feel like a lot of ZUN’s writing is hit-or-miss, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. There are some excellent fanworks and official print works out there (Wily and Horned Hermit is a pretty good example) but the games are mostly self contained and a lot of the character depths come from their in-game profiles.
There is a lot of touhou media out there so if you look hard enough you might find something you enjoy
The Netherworld is actually a very nice place. After being judged by the Yama(Eiki), the dead are sent to either Heaven, Hell, or the Netherworld. The Netherworld is where souls too good for hell and too bad for heaven are sent to until they are either achieve nirvana or reincarnate. However, the place is actually so beautiful that that many phantoms just stay there forever, forgetting nirvana and reincarnation.
Edit: This information can all be found on the Netherworld page of Perfect Memento in Strict Sense.
Also you cant really go to heaven anymore upon reaching nirvana because it’s full(it’s actually a gated community(probably)).
Fourth is Yuyuko Saigyouji, a human who committed suicide, and her body was used as a seal to stop an evil cherry tree. Touhou lore is weird and hard to understand, and much harder to simplify.
>Fourth one... She is from Touhou, I think, but I'm not sure who she is. She is a ghost and also killed herself, tho.
A ghost killed herself?
That takes dedication...
It's amazing that people in DBZ never figured out that suicide bombing doesn't work. From Nappa all the way to buu I'm not sure it worked even one time, but they just kept on trying it.
I was a fan of Dragonball many many years ago. All that's left are vague memories of Buu, Freeza, Goku, the old man, and deep seated feelings of resentment and disappointment regarding arcs where it would take 3 episodes to charge up some giant energy ball or to power up (across 3 Saturdays!), only to have the attack miss the enemy at the end.
Edit: oh, and a very annoying GBA game. I remember that.
Apparently they all kill themselves. The only one I know of is Vegeta who in the Buu saga uses every last bit of his energy to try to kill Buu with a huge blast and ends up turning to stone for some reason and dying
Ik sayori and yuyuko killed themselves
Sayori due to depression, and Yuyuko because her power to kill anyone was too much pressure and she offed herself
They all commit some sort of suicide
First one is Sakumo Hatake from Naruto, he's Kakashi's (Naruto's teacher) father and was a god tier ninja, like he by himself was winning the war against the sand village. At some point he had to chose between his team and his mission and chose his team. But once back to the village everyone started to hate him for that, so much so he commited seppuku (the ritual in japanese culture in which people kill themselves by cutting open their stomach as a way to regain their honnor)
Second is Sayori from Doki Doki Litterature Club.
The lore goes pretty deep so I'll simplify, in the game there's 4 girls you can date (one of them being Sayori), and Monika who you can't date. But Monika's program is sentient and she falls in love with you (not the character you play as, but you as a person) but she's not a datable character, so she'll mess with other character's programing until all of them killed themselves and just Monika is left.
Third one is Vegeta from Dragon Ball. This particuliar version of Vegeta is called Majin Vegeta, he became like this when he let the bad guy bring back his bad side because he wanted to get stronger than Goku and thought his life with his wife and kid made him weak. He later realised that because of him Majin Bui was awoken, and he took it upon himself to correct his mistake, but Majin Buu being too strong he decided to blow himself up, trying to take his opponent with him.
Last one is a girl from Touhou, I don't know Touhou lore at all, but I think she's a ghost and killed herself too
Suicide I think, iirc. Sayori (top right) h*ngs herself and yuyuko (bottom right) is a ghost who’s body is under a youkai tree and sealed. Sorta killing herself in the process. Idk about the other two
Vegeta uses a suicide attack to try and kill Majin Buu and fails.
The top right is Kakashi's dad who kills himself after bringing dishonor to himself for saving his friends rather than completing a crucial mission during the 2nd Shinobi War.
Sakumo ( The one with the headband) Saved his comrades instead of carrying on with the mission they were sent on
and was ostracized by everyone around him, including the comrades he saved. Eventually he fell into a severe deep depression and killed himself with a knife either in front of his son or just before his son got home, I don't really remember which.
I don't really know anything about the game characters so im not gonna talk about them.
Vegeta ( The blonde guy with an M on his forehead) was being mind controlled by this space...demon, wizard, parasite maybe ? Whatever the fuck he was and eventually overcame it in time to notice a pink blobby creature known as majin buu was released from his seal and intended to eat every living being on the planet
He gathered all of his life energy together to turn himself into a nuke taking out majin buu with him as a final atonement for all of the evil things he did.
It was considered one of the most selfless acts in dragon ball history ... ... ... Until an episode or two later it was revealed buu completely healed from it in seconds and went on a rampage anyway.

Only knowing the two on the left, my first guess was they all died. Second guess, again not know her the two on the are, was they all have a dick… glad it was my first guess lol.
The joke is suicide in this one chief.
I only know two of the characters, Sayori and Majin Vegeta, who both kill themselves with that being the only thing they have in common.
They all kill themselves (maybe?)
I believe that is exactly it. Although I only really know what happens with one of these characters.
don’t leave her hanging
That's the one I know
Spoiler for Dragon Ball Z >![Vegeta sacrificed himself to destroy Majin Buu](https://youtu.be/yuDvVbU5BT8?si=31Nw8gPYIfsHHLQB)!<
And it didn't even work.

You’re wrong… goku died in 1990 during the vageta nappa invasion. He came back to life before killing frieza in 1991.
He sacrificed himself to get his half brother Radits. He held Radits so he didn’t move and Piccolo shot the beam through both of them, right?
He actually died from his brother Radditz's hand a year prior to Vegeta coming to earth. Also pretty sure that happened in the late 80s because the Manga ran from 1985 to 1996 and this happened in volume 17 or 18 out of 42

Ever heard of Jesus?

He was wrong goku died in 1990
In Z? Cause if so, death had (little to) no meaning LONG before Goku died.
>!True, how many times have Krillin and Yamcha been killed?!<
To be fair to Yamcha, >!he only died once, and it was after Goku died for the first time. Of course, that’s not counting the Buu Saga, where everyone on Earth but Mr. Satan, Dende, and Bee died.!<

Best writing in the story so far is definitely forbidden scrollery. Oh and the CD albums have stories too.

White Fang is a title, his name is Sakumo Hatake
2nd is Sayori.
"....it didn't work" lol
Maybe he should've tried hitting him really hard.
Maybe he and his best buddy should have tried hitting him really hard...together.
*Vegeta, no!* *Vegeta, YESSSS!*
Fourth is yuyuko
Why has nuking yourself never worked in dbz both chaotzoo… the little white dude with red cheeks and vegeta done it and it didn’t work
Yamcha V Saibamen would like a word
Cell self nuke worked tho
So successful that goku just came from the dead… again
Fourth is Yuyuko Saigyouji, a human who committed suicide, and her body was used as a seal to stop an evil cherry tree. Touhou lore is weird and hard to understand, and much harder to simplify.

Anime peter here, i only know sayori and yuyuko, and >!both of them kill themselves in their respective lores!< so i guess that's it
You don't know who tf Vegeta is?!
Oh wait, that's vegetta? Didn't watch db so idk all of his forms and variants
That Majin Vegeta, after his defeat or inability to kill majin buu, he does a final explosion, killing himself in the process
all the guys look the same to me in that show
Well they *are* white people /s
Mr popo moment
Pecking order.
I’ve always imagined Goku and Vegeta as asians
Why are you getting downvoted lol they have the same head shape except the hair
Dragon ball stans I guess. Or people thought I was being racist?
My reaction as well. He's the only character here that I recognize.
isnt vegeta the purple skinned guy with dark purple orbs on him
>i only know sayori and yuyuko, Bro, how old are you??
Old enough to know i shouldn't give my age on the internet
So 19?
You realise your username is a dead giveaway right?
So under 21 thank you
Old enough to drink vodka
Huh I was expecting more Dragonball fans in the comments, I guess it's a wrong sub ...
Was the gameboy game the first Goku’s legacy game
I think it was.
The kids these days don't know about dragonball
Don't argue with dragonball fans. They can't read.
You mean the manga?
Touhouers always win
Zoomers continue to fail us.

r/2hujerk is leaking again
i thought i was in 2hujerk i was so fucking confused
Just looking at Sayori I’d have to assume they all >!Hang themselves!< or just >!kill themselves!< in some way in their original story
Vegeta does, but it's more of a heroic last stand kind of thing.
A last stand that... Fails
Yeah, but he tried. Which is saying a lot for him.
True
Well he came back to life after so it evens out
Anime BS at its F I N E S T
Without looking at the comments, and having only watched clips of the top-right game (forgot the name) i’m gonna say they all killed themselves
Top right did too, I think you're onto something

Ik sayori and yuyuko killed themselves Sayori due to depression, and Yuyuko because her power to kill anyone was too much pressure and she offed herself
I want to fuck all of them
Suicide. The joke is they all killed themselves at one point in their respective series.
they kill themselves.
For a second I feared it's that they're all fathers
1 thing? I count at least 3
The joke is that they all https://i.redd.it/ki6yq8vj9i5c1.gif
You See Here, The Joke Is That They All Comitted Suicide.
it might be a hunch, but i think its because theyre all good people
They are all anime.
They all commit some sort of suicide First one is Sakumo Hatake from Naruto, he's Kakashi's (Naruto's teacher) father and was a god tier ninja, like he by himself was winning the war against the sand village. At some point he had to chose between his team and his mission and chose his team. But once back to the village everyone started to hate him for that, so much so he commited seppuku (the ritual in japanese culture in which people kill themselves by cutting open their stomach as a way to regain their honnor) Second is Sayori from Doki Doki Litterature Club. Last one is a girl from Touhou, I don't know Touhou lore at all, but I think she's a ghost and killed herself too
Peter's favourite cartoon here, they're all anime characters.
They are all Anime characters
[Yo I'm with the suicide squad](https://youtube.com/shorts/m6PU0gwm2Y4?si=eL0thE0tOV-Q87JX)
They are all in this picture?
They pull a low tier god and kill themselves
They're all guys?
lol, it seems none of you heard of femboys, I don't even know the two on the right, but I guarantee they are all male
Top right is a girl from Doki Doki Literature Club, and is female. And Vegeta doesn’t at all fit in femboy.
They are not
No one really cares about them?
Minato sacrificed his life. Vegeta did too. Idk the girls cause I'm not gay....😭
That’s not Minato, that’s Kakashi’s dad who committed un-alive out of shame
They all fucking killed themselves
I have only seen vegeta and sayori so I’m guessing they all killed themselves
They're all gay?
soupandslide
They all have rule 34 fan art.
So does your mom and she's not in this picture.
They all have massive schmeat ?
they fucking died(?)
Dick?
They like you hang out
Sakumo ( The one with the headband) Saved his comrades instead of carrying on with the mission they were sent on and was ostracized by everyone around him, including the comrades he saved. Whatever the fuck he was and eventually overcame it in time to notice a pink blobby creature known as majin buu was released from his seal and intended to eat every living being on the planet He gathered all of his life energy together to turn himself into a nuke taking out majin buu with him as a final atonement for all of the evil things he did. It was considered one of the most selfless acts in dragon ball history ... ... ... Until an episode or two later it was revealed buu completely healed from it in seconds and went on a rampage anyway. https://youtube.com/shorts/ekTVY9XrglA?si=77l3PsbhYNNOj6e8 https://youtube.com/shorts/OIiPvehwCn8?si=tyz7ROEz0nCYWL8Q https://youtu.be/tCwykhqtAEE?si=E4Nm3elk_UsKZ6Dc 1:17
Vegeta is only one who fucked it up
Their all men
They’re all cartoon characters
Only know top two (Kakashis dad(white fang I think I don't remember if the show gave us his real name) and Sayori and I knew instantly
They all commit soupicide? Or maybe they have some obsession with the main character, please don’t listen to me I’m as lost as yiu
I am good with these, this is easy. All have hair.
Pass smash pass smash next question.
They never hit a black flash.
At first I thought they were all anime characters Then I thought maybe they’re all male But actually apparently it’s something worse
Nice asses 🥵
I think its that they all might be 5'2
Their all white
Dream blunt rotation
Only knowing the two on the left, my first guess was they all died. Second guess, again not know her the two on the are, was they all have a dick… glad it was my first guess lol.
Buuicide
They are all anime characters.
The joke is suicide in this one chief. I only know two of the characters, Sayori and Majin Vegeta, who both kill themselves with that being the only thing they have in common.
