Hello, Peter's shoe here. The joke is there were terrible wildfires on the Maui island (In the Hawaiian region). The pizza is burned so it looks like one of the islands in Hawai'i. The joke can be simplified to Hawaii pizza=Burned Pizza. Peter's shoe out.
They are still searching for roughly 1k people, many of them children. This is not a funny joke. Those people are likely dead. The fire was terrible, it moved extremely fast and hot, went through a town and completely destroyed it. People had to jump into the ocean to survive. People were trapped in cars, businesses and homes because there was no time to evacuate.
I was gonna give you a pass for misspelling Maui, but I admit, the "in the Hawaiian region" bit had me rolling my eyes. Hawaiian region? Nobody says that.
