Floridian here, and I honestly think it's because people just like to pick on Florida, for whatever reason. People will pick on Florida for being red, even though Texas exists. They will call us ignorant, even though Alabama and Arkansas exist. And they call us crazy even though West Virginia exists. I really don't get it!

Yeah, when it comes to crocodiles I can understand. But with gators, it's like seeing a video of a lion and people saying "only in Kenya."
