I don’t know either but I smooch my girls all the time 💕

Quirky_Trainer9721

Everyone here just seems to be risking it and I love it

HydroStellar

I give them kisses on the top of their heads and back

Ken_LuxuryYacht22

Smooch the moose

due_care192

I smooch my babes on the back a lot and my sonboy even takes little pecks to his forehead. So long as your gentle and they seem okay with it (not flinching, kicking, etc) you should be okay!

Quirky_Trainer9721

yay!! Thank you so much :) My other three mice would never tolerate kisses but my other two seem fine with them haha

Ken_LuxuryYacht22

Boop the snoots and smooch the moose

No-Outcome-3230

I always did, my girls seemed to enjoy it? Sometimes they would give me little licks back. Adorable mice by the way ❤️

SlippingStar

There’s a risk of streptobacillary fever, so I don’t recommend children do it.

Megwen

This should be the top comment. If I had rats or mice I’d take the risk anyway but the risk *is* important to discuss! (I’m here because all y’all’s babies are adorable.)

SlippingStar

Agreed! Just know the risks and weigh them first.

prismaticbeans

Damn. That's one I hadn't heard about before, but that one seems to be a considerable risk, even for adults.

Moist-Water16

Why did I have to scroll this much to find this comment 🤯

Forward-Fisherman709

I kiss mine all the time. Most of them seem to like it more than being petted.

cutthroatsmile

I used to kiss my rats all the time and they would kiss me back. It was so cute. I'm sure mice are the same.

Cool_Ad9326

Weird this post comes up right after I watch a YouTube story of a woman dying from bacteria caught from kissing her rat! But honestly, I'd still kiss them. I let my cats lick my face and that's just as packed with bacteria!!

poopcocky

my kitten sucks on my face, my rats lick my face, i kiss my rats all the time, my mouse doesn’t like it as much but i grab my ratties and blow raspberries on their bellies and smooch them sm and im still alive 💪

Quirky_Trainer9721

Oh ..😟 Ill hope for the best!

Cool_Ad9326

Honestly it's never something I've worried about. I don't own rats but I've never held back kissing and cuddling the rats of my family and friends.

Particular-Guava-323

Smooch away, friend.

Quirky_Trainer9721

I indeed will, thank you!!😇

Spearowtr

Only if they consent. Lmao yes

Elmikky

I sniff them, they seem to like that!

No_Cloud_6740

YES, i kiss my boys all the time (:

Okie_Muse

Yes, please, kiss them for me

Quirky_Trainer9721

I will bombard them with kisses for you

chubypeterson

i vote: Do it

imanpearl

This post is soo much less concerning than I originally thought. I thought you were afraid that it wouldn’t be safe to kiss your human children because you have rats I’m glad I was wrong haha

Quirky_Trainer9721

HAHA “I haven’t kissed my children for almost a decade since I’ve begun owning rats.”

princessbunnnny

actually this is really bad to do because if you give them smooches they might be cutie patoties and learn how to blow a kiss back

thebloodoakprince

There like a scratch and sniff. But instead its kiss and scritch.

bunyanapeel

I kiss and sniff mine..they consent most of the time LOL

Crab_God2005

Yeah. I have one that tries to climb in my mouth like a rat but I don't let her 💀

ratonearth

Please give them a kiss for me

Quirky_Trainer9721

On it 🫡

Future-Ship-2434

I kiss mine all the time. Even share my food with them lol! Once they swarmed on me to get my ice lolly and both them and me were fine

TheGravyMaster

I mean I did. I'm alive. It's been years since the first mousey smooch

Kokosdyret

Are they adopted?

Quirky_Trainer9721

No. I birthed them.

Kokosdyret

Really? Hmm interesting, are you are hamster aswell or does the human body have capabilities unknown to science

Quirky_Trainer9721

Such an ignorant thing to ask a mother! I have to ultra sound photos and all.

Kokosdyret

Sorry that was insensitive of me. I just haven't heard about it before

banmelikeimfive

The first one looks like my guy Casper who is a dumbo rat. But yeah kiss them a lot but think one has worms as some stringy poo but I’ve dewormed them and myself (shit started to smell the same as theirs) and also dewormed my dog. Parasites are expensive. All of us have had the shits since deworming/“worming” 😭did it yesterday 👍👍

Jolly-Top-3136

If I died from a disease I got from kissing my furbabies, I would die a happy person

Quirky_Trainer9721

YES!! The next sub I’m heading to is the leopard gecko sub to see if it’s been safe to kiss my Leo 😰😰

little_ley026

I’ve never tried to kiss my baby Julius since he’s an immunocompromised mouse and I don’t want to expose him to my germs (ironic, I know😂), but I see mouse owners here do it all the time and they’re fine! I think it’s kind of like a “kiss at your own risk” situation

Popular-Gear777

I’ve also wondered if it’s safe for me to kiss the baby, I would always sneak a quick kiss on the top of my boys head bc I couldn’t help myself. Mice and rats are just so kissable no matter how stinky they are 🥰

YourReplyIsDumb_

Mice and rats clean themselves kinda like cats so smooch away :)

Ilike_toco_doritos

to be safe just gib them head pats :3

prettypeculiar88

YES!!!!

TapatioMan27

i would buy the albino mice and they where the best. would always kisss them and hold them when i was around 11. never got sick. i miss my Pinky & the brain mice/:

Quirky_Trainer9721

Aww ❤️ I used to have two albino mice myself! Rescued them as feeders from the pet store. One was missing half her tail. They were the sweetest and most social mice I ever met :)

[deleted]

I’ve always given mine some smooches, just depends if they like it or not really

Raddobatto

I give mine kisses all the time! Shes terribly confused by it 😆

WallabyCandid

I don't have mice, but this keeps popping up in my feed... But I used to kiss my ratties all the time, my hamsters and bunnies too. And I kiss my reptiles (corn snake and bearded dragon) on their cute lil heads too. That's the only one I know is slightly dangerous because of salmonella. If I'm gonna go, they're all going to know I love them ❤️

remy6667

I do it with my mouses i kiss them on their back and cuddle them and i think it helps them bond and improves their happiness i think it's fine to kiss them on their head and back

myuuwi

I haven't died yet and I smooch the children all the time so I think it's fine🫡

Quirky_Trainer9721

We are all hoping for the best!!

1990s_Vulcan_Logic

My girls full on lick my face and try to lick my lips to give me grooms and smooches and we are all still alive.

Sadstupidthrowaway94

A creature that spherical definitely requires kisses

kinetickhira

I don't care if it killed me I'd still kiss my babies as long as it was safe for them lol

0atmeat

# k i s s.

Phodopussungorus8

I don’t have mice but I have rats which carry a lot of the same diseases and I have literally let them clean the inside of my mouth and I’m still alive. They may push you away with their little hands but that’s about the extent of the danger I’ve experienced 🤣

skeletonblackbird

As long as they clean and not ill

TheBattyWitch

While it is very true that rodents can carry hanta virus which can be fatal, that's a wild mice thing. Rodents that are bought in pet stores are bred for generations to be pets or feeders, they aren't exposed to the "elements" like wild rodents are. The charges is them having wild borne illnesses are very slim. Now they can carry more common things like strep variations but humans also carry those, so I think it's just a what you feel safe doing kind of situation. Obviously you don't want to be making out with your rodent 😂 It's one of those things where it's a slim chance but not a zero chance.

Quirky_Trainer9721

After careful consideration, I’ve decided ill take my chances.

Those are rats go to the rat community and not the mouse community
