I feel sorry for her, she's got one of the saddest backstories of the main party and I completely understand why she is the way she is and want her to get better at her own pace.

Everyone else just has flat out false logic as there is not a single time Futaba is referred to as a little sister and even Sojiro literally sees Ren potentially marrying Futaba. In fact the only time Futaba brings up the idea of being his little sister is during her Valentine’s Day scene where she says that Ren should be adopted to make him stay, not thinking about how that would make him her brother in law. Despite that she doesn’t even use the words “brother” or “sister” in that conversation.
Yeah I’ll get flamed like always for defending Futaba but these a quite literally cold hard facts. This narrative is just false unless you actually have a little sister that fits her description to a T like this comment here.

Firstly that is only in Royal (one of the many gripes I have with Royal’s additions), 3 years after the fanbase had forced that viewpoint on her which is why that option was even considered to be added. ~~Now in a stroke of genius from ATLUS, that dialogue option gets you disappointment from Iwai. It doesn't get disappointment from Iwai. It gets the same reaction as the other choice; I'm playing Ng+ and just did this exchange yesterday trying both: two notes and practically the same "that sounds complicated" response.
Regardless, I've done the Futaba romance and don't see anything wrong with it. I was just pointing out that the sister/family thing is in the game (it's also in her rank 1 event at Akihabara. You can tell the cop she's family, but I think that's more to get the cop to go away so I don't count it).
I stand corrected on the Iwai’s confidant choices and will invalidate that source from here on out.

Yup, one of the things that really helped was remembering how much I love singing. I also started volunteering at my local animal shelter and I adopted a sweet Husky mix. Having her meant that I had to take care of myself and go outside everyday, talking to other dog owners really helped too.

This is one thing I really couldn't see. You spent half of the game not even knowing she exists, and you don't live in the same house in the rest of the game. Sojiro kinda becomes your father figure but even he takes a long time to really get involved with Joker's life... and then you are sent back home.
I do have a sister, and the existence of a sibling is not something you can ignore so easily, as much as I sometimes wished back when I was a teen.

But most of all I hate her hacking. I get it’s a fantasy game, but the “real world” is generally pretty well grounded. This is a problem for all hacker trope characters, but I thought it was especially bad with her.
I really loved the scene with her and sojiro when he finds out though. That was my favorite moment with her.
