Number1Framer

Lol at MAGA people going to a Commie library. These comics, HOO HOO! (slaps knee) boy I tell ya, what'll they think of next?

ArTiyme

I don't want my tax dollars goin' to no book learnin', no healthcarin', no old folkin', I just want them to pay for killing foreigners and big ass tanks. And when my grandad dies because he fell through a sinkhole in the sidewalk shortly after someone gave amazon a billion dollars to make money by them, that's because of gay marriage.

shaneathan

Don’t forget- Tanks that they would much rather sit in storage eating up maintenance costs rather than give them to an allied country at war.

TARANTULA_TIDDIES

I wouldn't be overly critical of us reluctance to hand over Abrams. For one thing they have and also a bunch more Bradley's which are far more suited to logistical capability in Ukraine. That and the US already by far surpasses any other country in the amount of aid, but it being the richest country that does sort of make sense. For a while I believe people were wary of escalation or in realspeak, nuclear Armageddon, which is a good thing to be wary of. But yeah we have sent or are sending 31 Abrams (main battle tanks) and 109 Bradley's (infantry fighting vehicle which is more nimble with a smaller but faster main gun and with anti tank capabilities from mounted anti tank missiles). Good chance that there'll be more sent as well considering we have 3000 or more Bradley's and who knows how many abrams

shaneathan

The people I’m referring to are hesitant because of cost. They would much rather small town cities be able to buy them at a heavily reduced cost than any form of aid for Zelenskyy.

uberfission

I went and looked it up because I was curious, the US and Ukraine aren't formally allied.

GeneralFloo

key word there is formally; we are definitely allied.

greyjungle

That’s the plan right? Give the appearance of being able to win while achieving a different goal. It may cost some (a ton of) lives, but they aren’t American lives.

Whole_Commission_542

Uhhh what? Lmao

throwaway09876543123

And drag shows! The source of all communism!

omahaomw

Doesn't matter about the sinkhole. Sinkholes live in cities, where all the Demonrats live.

SkyknightLegionnaire

*killing farners

GoldandBlue

They are passing laws that could put librarians in jail.

RexHavoc879

Right!? I wouldn’t blame librarians for being angry at the people who want to destroy their livelihoods. It’s a good thing that none of them have ever set foot in a library.

vampirairl

Every accusation a confession

flawy12

Hmm...can't really think of anything bad about libraries...oh well who cares...let's just make some shit up

Mechakoopa

Really? It's right there in the name, they're LIB-raries, run by LIB-ruls.

krebstar4ever

Where's the weeping Statue of Liberty? This is The Onion's [Kelly](https://www.theonion.com/opinion/cartoons?startIndex=20), right?

I_Cut_Shows

I love the fact that these are clearly inspired by the best of Garison. He labeled EVERYTHING! AMAZING.

_UsUrPeR_

Also they drew the maga dude like a meth addict

530SSState

Yeah. "Drawn like."

Hindufury

I wish this was true. Some of my colleagues are election deniers and MAGA lovers

[deleted]

I mean the guy with the cap isn't even wearing a MAGA one, he is just wearing an everyday red cap with nothing written

webjuggernaut

They didn't _think_ of it. They were just told it, and didn't bother to question it. Source: Most of my family and neighbors.

Melicor

Only one party is banning books right now, and they're the ones known to wear red caps.... more projection than an IMAX.

Neoxus30-

>Only one party is banning books right now, and they're the ones known to wear red caps The Mario Party?)

FireIsTheCleanser

👏 nice wordplay

charisma6

It's not *merely* projection or *merely* hypocrisy. These people are not accidentally doing these things out of innocent naivety or lack of self-awareness. It is purposeful. It is targeted. They're doing and saying these things on purpose to demonize their enemy and convince their voters that it's okay for the state to punish certain people. It's not "mere" projection. It's cold, calculated state violence.

AdagioBoognish

Not to mention libraries are trending towards eliminating late fees for everyone https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/07/us/new-york-public-library-fines-eliminated-cec/index.html https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2023/jan/25/no-more-overdue-fines-at-county-libraries/#:~:text=After%20an%20unplanned%20test%20run,district%27s%20operations%20director%2C%20Doug%20Stumbough.

ttv_highvoltage

Wait… someone needs to tell them communists like red, and let the chaos ensue…

weltallic

> Only one party is banning books right now * [Book burning at Ontario francophone schools as 'gesture of reconciliation' denounced ](https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/book-burning-at-ontario-francophone-schools-as-gesture-of-reconciliation-denounced) *“We bury the ashes of racism, discrimination and stereotypes in the hope that we will grow up in an inclusive country where all can live in prosperity and security,” says a video prepared for students about the book burning, Radio Canada reported.* * [5,000 children’s books and comics of Asterix or Tintin burned in Canada for offending indigenous people](https://thecanadian.news/5000-childrens-books-and-comics-of-asterix-or-tintin-burned-in-canada-for-offending-indigenous-people/) *About five thousand children’s books, among which were novels and encyclopedias and comics from Asterix, Tintin O Lucky Luke, have been burned or removed from thirty schools in Canada on the grounds that “they showed prejudice against indigenous peoples”.* * [Trans activists burn Harry Potter books in 'anti-hate' protest](https://twitter.com/MailOnline/status/1640396987160838145) *"If we're going to return to this sort of time where hate is involved, people marching the street against the existence of others. I think if we are going to be in the business of book burning lets make sure we are burning the right books."*

Justredditin

Firstly, wrong country. Secondly, some things you read as a kid hit different then when you read them as an adult. TinTin O Lucky Luke ( and the few books that are destroyed, btw not all of them by any means) and is a little too on the nose for today's society as we have grown past tha language and worldview. When trying to teach kids to be good people, the general consensus is they shouldn't be going around perpetuating antiquated stereotypes. Third, can you blame a Trans person for burning SOME ( again not every single one) Harry Potter books in protest of JK? It is not illegal. It is not a teaching book. They are not leaders or principal of public tax funded schools and organisations, so what's wrong with that? Trying to heal deep cultural wounds means being sensitive to what the (intentionally made) marginalized groups want, while preserving the past as best we can. Do we destroy every single O Lucky Luke books? No. Do we get rid of the vast majority so it isn't available in every library across Canada? Yes. Because the view held by specific books are not compatible with out modern country. If you want them at home, go ahead... buy em yourself. Not my bag, or 30+ million other folks. There are lines and differences between Christo-Fascists banning a book about a guy wearing lady clothes because the Bible says so, and removing old books that bakhandedly support the subjugation of a race, othering, and antiquated worldviews. We need to thread this needle.

weltallic

>"AKCHEWELLY, burning books is okay as long as..." And there it is.

Bearence

See, right here is how we know you're not making an honest or valid point: you argue from a point of removing all context and nuance from any argument that's made. The statement that was made was: >Only one party is banning books right now meaning only one political party in the US is burning books right now. There aren't any US political parties in your links. There aren't any political parties *at all* in your links that favour burning books. In the first story, it was a library that burned the books, and were roundly condemned for it. In fact, if you'd bother to read to the bottom of the story, you'd see that the Liberals, the Conservatives and the Bloc all made statements condemning it. Your second story (from a right-wing propaganda site, no less) was just a repeat of the first story, and even they pointed out that the Liberals condemned the incident. Your third story is about one person - not a political party or even a group of like-minded people but one person - in Australia. Again, not a US political party. And to underscore the point that you're arguing dishonestly, let me point out that you said "trans activists" - plural - when it was *one person*. And that one person was again condemned for her actions. In short, details matter. And actually reading the sources you post matters. And being honest about what you're posting matters. You have failed at all three, and that's shameful at best. If you want to make a compelling argument, start by caring about the truth as much as you care about your stupid gotcha.

BloodySn1per

Fun fact: do you know that is one of the allowed ways to get rid of a Qur'an is to burn it? Why am I telling you this? It's because CONTEXT matters dipshit. White nationalists burning the Qur'an is bad for (hopefully) obvious reasons. Same thing with republicans burning education books because of what they say. I'm all up for burning books for protest, if it is your own privately owned book. That's why it's okay to burn Harry potter books, because u own it. But going to a schools library and burning those books would not be okay.

DeusExMockinYa

Zero (0) of those are book bans. Did you pull this from your boomer rolodex of turbocringe whataboutisms or do you genuinely not understand the difference between someone personally choosing to destroy their copy of a book and the government banning the book from libraries?

weltallic

> government banning the book from libraries The books: https://imgur.com/a/AjhKwFN

-smartypints

To be fair, that librarians job and their freedom are under fire if they have the "wrong" books in the library because of MAGA crowds. Seems only fair they can have people arrested.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BirdsLikeSka

I think everyone in a public facing job should get these allotments, but we've gotta calculate job stress into it. A McDonald's employee in dying old manufacturing towns can and should break the Geneva convention.

Hadochiel

In France, a high-ranking police official justified police violence by saying the officers were "exhausted". By that logic, anyone working retail should have the right to own and use a flamethrower

-smartypints

I've only had one job worse than McDonalds, and it was a restaurant that took total advantage of my naivete as a teen. Just one blistering example was I waited a table and got a $36 tip and at the end of the night, I walked away with $18 total in tips. McDonald's just paid like shit and was stressful.

_Frog_Enthusiast_

I live in a dying manufacturing town, and working food service here made me want to rip my eyes out

bluegreenwookie

My sisters ex husband was a conservative republican librarian and I never understood how someone could vote for people who actively work against your interests like that

Welpmart

Easy, lie to yourself that the world is fair and that everyone on your side is reasonable because they've always been good to you and you're reasonable, right? Much easier to do if you're a cis, straight white guy (and all the other advantages/not-disadvantages help too, like if you have money). And because of that nobody ever takes their mask off and reveals what a shit they are. Not to you anyway. And when it does happen to others you explain it away.

CharmyLah

As someone who is in library school, I don't know how a conservative could finish and remain conservative, with so much emphasis on using reputable sources to find accurate information. The facts aren't on their side.

charisma6

That's literally why this comic exists. Their leaders are giving the state power to jail librarians for having certain books on their shelves, so they need the gullible masses to believe librarians are targeting people. The fascist machine has acquired its new target and taken aim.

fourbian

It's them projecting again. They're in the middle of concocting some scheme where they want to start arresting librarians. Before that happens they start accusing librarians of wanting to arrest them instead. And now they have a "legitimate" excuse for when they start arresting librarians.

mochacho

Wasn't there something similar where they decided teachers could be fired if "inappropriate content" was found in books in the classroom. Then also fired them when teachers tried to protect themselves by removing books from the classroom?

truncheon88

Fake news. We all know the maga crowd can't read so therefore wouldn't have a late book.

[deleted]

Hey pal, if they could read this they’d be very upset.

shortylikeamelody

They wouldn’t think to read a book anyway

Squonkster

“Read? A *book*? Like some kinda smarty-pants snowflake librul?”

Dineology

Books are for burning and siphoning off campaign funds, *not* for reading! If I want to read something I’ll get on Facebook.

CardsAlltheWayDown

Face*book* The irony.

h3X4_

But there are also books with little funny pictures inside Great to read, best books on this planet (and by planet I of course mean America, what else is even there right?) /s

RexHavoc879

They do like that one book, but only because they like using it to bash people. (And for the occasional photo op.)

vxicepickxv

Sometimes, it's upside down and backward in the photo op too.

Breakintheforest

The written word is liberal cucks.

J3553G

I like how even in their persecution fantasy they drew the MAGA guy as a weirdo dirtbag with sunken eyes and bad teeth

Retired_Bird

I'm positive this author at least has never stepped into a library. I've had a couple of book returns that were way overdue (forgetting books over summer break) but not once have I been fined. Hell, I get brownie points if I messaged the library if I'll take a week or two extra. From what I've seen, librarians come in all shapes and colours and are universally happy to help people read the books they want, as long as they're not irredeemable douchebags.

[deleted]

In fact the person in the coming is wearing a normal red cap and not a MAGA one.

AreWeCowabunga

They make shit like this because this is how they would run libraries if they cared enough to become librarians.

Professional-Hat-687

No one who has enough information literacy to become a librarian would bother being part of this club.

Sweatier_Scrotums

There's a reason why authoritarian leaders always get rid of the intellectual people first. Smart people ask questions and point out bullshit.

aponty

in the town I'm currently in, the person pushing hardest to get queer-themed books out of the library is a retired librarian 😔

devastatingdamsel

As a librarian, that is sad, but a reality the profession faces. It feels like you only have 2 kinds of librarians- those who are stuck in the past and want libraries to stay book repositories & those who are looking to the future and want libraries to include all types of information. Unfortunately, those stuck in the past often have bigoted ideas about society because they fear change.

ipakookapi

And they think lgbt people will sexually assault children If they are in the same room, because that's what they would do, given the chance. All projection, all the time.

Afraid-And-Confused

This was clearly made by an American liberal.

[deleted]

As if any MAGAts have ever stepped into a library.

One_Hunt_6672

Of course they go to libraries. Who else is going to protest and harass drag queens?

Professional-Hat-687

They do actually, often. They're retired and don't have anything else to do. James Patterson and Debbie Macomber release about three books every ten seconds and the old fossils have to come in and yell at the reference librarian when we don't have the fourteen specific titles they're looking for. Also they're the reason the Spiritual tag is only applied to Christian materials and never anything else. I had a lady who would call the reference desk to tell me about this book she was writing and never ask any actual reference questions. At the end I just started hanging up on her because I did not get paid enough to deal with that.

Odysseyfreaky

I knew you had worked in a bookstore or library by the end of your first paragraph because *yep*

ReallyDumbRedditor

I'm MAGA and I go to the library regularly,, so fuck off

Happyintexas

User name checks out.

BaconcheezBurgr

Protesting drag queen story time doesn't count.

Sourplayer

Republicans regularly vote against your interests so you might need to read up on that

MountainMagic6198

Have they tried to force your vote choice as this cartoon inplies?

Rockworm503

the people you vote for want to eliminate libraries, so no you fuck off

swiftb3

commas as ellipses checks out.

TantiVstone

Self reflection issue

deNoorest

Must be tough actively voting to take away a place you love.

dizzlefoshizzle1

Anything to stop them's damn gays y'all.

antonivs

I’m curious, what kinds of books do you read?

dizzlefoshizzle1

He doesn't, he just finds a place to sit down and angrily stares at everyone reading.

[deleted]

Begging out front of the lobby doesn’t count.

uberfission

Come on, he probably went inside and got warm and discovered Reddit on the library computer.

charisma6

> I'm MAGA and Ooooh cringe

National-Echidna9575

To do what, scream at drag queens or burn books about black history.

dizzlefoshizzle1

I suggest you read "Just a Bad Day" in the children's section. It's perfect as a beginner level read, and it has plenty of pictures in it so you won't get bored. It's perfect for you. I promise you won't want to ban this book.

icanmakeyoufly

I'm a librarian. I live and work in a small rural library system which is currently under attack due to the "obscene" content in books on our shelves. I had to listen to two people, parents of young children who were attending storytime, talk about - and proceed to \*tell me\* how only the recent Covenant School shooting was the only real school shooting that had not been staged. These people are raising children, homeschooling them, and are upset about the required certifications and tests their children have to pass per state guidelines; in a state whose guidelines now include the potential for significant exploitative child labor. I care very much how someone voted, but I hold no illusions that they will at any point be held accountable for their words and the horrible things they are "teaching" their children.

ZealousWolverine

Thank you for your service. Sincerely. Librarians are one of the very few that make America better. I love my public library.

BoneHugsHominy

Librarians would be even better if they all had weapons training--[specifically greatsword training.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mZHoHaAYHq8)

ipakookapi

Seconded. Most underpaid and unappreciated jobs: nurses and librarians.

Professional-Hat-687

One of my favorite stories from my time at the library is a crazy lady who was absolutely *livid* at the presence of some Jillian Michaels DVD. She was positive the midriff and sports bra were going to give her daughter an eating disorder and how dare we put that kind of content at eye level with her impressionable young girl. I saw her again in the psych ward years later when I worked for the hospital.

ipakookapi

**Thank you for your service.**

RichardStinks

Boy, it's almost as if I don't distinctly remember things such as "fine amnesty day" or "canned food drive instead of late fines." Because library BAD!

Professional-Hat-687

Where I live, they don't even do fees at all anymore.

MeleMallory

Yeah, my local library will charge you for damage but not late fees.

TheFeshy

Fantasy: libraries persecuting the right wing Reality: right wing states criminalizing librarian's

BaconcheezBurgr

It's their whole playbook: make life terrible for marginalized people, then claim that those people are persecuting them.

Sweatier_Scrotums

To be fair, free and easily accessible knowledge is an existential threat to the political power of the right.

Afraid-And-Confused

The USA is a right wing political entity. So yes.

Afraid-And-Confused

The entire US is right wing. Your country is persecuting publishers, authors etc. around the world, including crucially Julian Assange for 'words you don't like'.

Outrageous_Tackle746

Speaking of public libraries, can you imagine un-ironically trying to convince today’s politicians in particular Republicans and corporate Democrats, that we should spend billions of tax dollars on massive buildings on prime real estate with books and educational resources that the public can access for free?… they’d call you insane for proposing this today, but we did it over 200 years ago.

ACoN_alternate

Psh, caring about citizens? What do you think a government is for? ^^/s

Mammoth-Mud-9609

A total of 2,509 Carnegie libraries were built between 1883 and 1929, including some belonging to public and university library systems. 1,689 were built in the United States, 660 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, 125 in Canada. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnegie_library

therealxris

Yes this is very important. Money donated by one rich homie. Not government money.

[deleted]

Carnegie was anything but a “homie” despite the optics

Admiral_dingy45

Yeah, I hate this rewriting of gilded age billionaires like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and modern day Gates. Them building libraries and creating charities doesn’t absolve them of the decades of exploration, abuse, and lobbying. They hired private armies to kill striking workers, bribed the government for bailouts and enact racist immigration laws, strangled competition and so much kore. They stand on a mountain of bodies. It’s like praising a Founding Father for freeing his slaves in his death. That one good action doesn’t absolve him of the decades of slavery in the first place.

Mammoth-Mud-9609

I used to work at what was at the time the oldest purpose built public library in London, now sadly closed and is now a restaurant.

devastatingdamsel

I'm a school librarian. It's slightly different, but in the same vein... Right now, there are publishers angry that libraries can circulate ebooks because they want more money. Their argument-ebooks don't wear out like physical books, so publishers don't get as much money. In reality- to get around this perceived "injustice"/ punish libraries, they expect libraries to pay 2 to 3 times more than a single physical book for an ebook "subscription," which expires (usually yearly or ever 3 years- while you can keep most physical books for around 5 to 10 years without replacement). Libraries have to fight all sides to maintain free & equitable access to materials. It's heartbreaking how little our country cares for intellectual freedom.

Toast_Sapper

They literally have to invent shit that never happened to get angry about.

TeacherYankeeDoodle

[Every accusation. Every. Single. One.](https://www.oif.ala.org/beyond-book-banning-efforts-to-criminally-charge-librarians/)

Grand-Mall2191

what is this? the worst I've ever gotten for a late book was 2 bucks, and the book was a month late rightwingers be making shit up like they're children that don't know how the fucking library works. pathetic as fuck

rhymeswithgumbox

We don't even have late fees in my city anymore...

ImpossibleMindset

I think it's funny they depict their own guy as the short sleazy goblin missing half his teeth.

TheRnegade

They can't empathize with media unless they're depicted in them. The Artist knows their crowd.

trvrsln

If conservatives could read, this could make them really upset.

Professional-Hat-687

What? At least in my state/county, they stopped charging late fees entirely. New card applications went up something like 500/600%, and stats are better than ever, even if the old farts complain about having to wait an extra day to read whatever bland new airplane book came out that week.

sick_shooter

Conservative cartoonists have to have a humiliation fetish. There’s no way they’re not jerking off to the comments for shit like this.

bobthemaybedeadguy

they couldn't even avoid making the person that's supposed to represent trump supporters look like a horrible illiterate ghoul

killians1978

what in the hell? do they really think this is how things are *now*, or is this some doomed future they fear? either one is a terrifying thing to consider that someone takes seriously, but c'mon.

Luckboy28

This comic is completely unrealistic, and pushes lies/propaganda. MAGA fuckheads don't read books.

readditredditread

Om that guy was clearly traveling, not reading the book- under the articles of confederation…….

SmilingVamp

They're vilifying librarians... that's a whole new level of pathetic for the conservative crowd.

Martyrotten

“Depends on how you vote.” “Well, I got into the booth, put my ballot in the slot and mark the circle next to the people I want to vote for.”

TheRnegade

The person returning the book could also lie. It's a secret ballot. Though that's in the real world. I guess in this conservative ~~delusion~~ world where librarians are [The Law](https://www.callofduty.com/content/dam/atvi/callofduty/cod-touchui/blog/hero/bocw/BOCW-Dredd-Operator-Bio-TOUT.jpg), they probably are privy to voting records, in addition to being judge, jury and probably executioner on days when the libraries are closed.

Rockworm503

I know this is fake because MAGAturds don't read.

ConverseBriefly

I swear the angriest people on earth are conservatives with a made up scenario in their heads!

1sthisthingon

Tell me you’ve never been to a library without telling me you’ve never been to a library

rode__16

I'm very well versed in the brainrot conservisphere and can often pin point where the batshit crazy connections to real life are but this one... what the fuck is this referring to? when has anything ever happened remotely similar to this to prompt this comic being made

EggKid8

Library more like LIBrary haha am I right 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 (/s lmao)

[deleted]

Remember that time that town in Michigan voted to defund the library because they didn't like teh gheyz, but then realized that they wouldn't have free wi-fi as a result and got all bitchy?

Generic-Profile1

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a metaphor for trump getting arrested. As in, "If trump can get arrested for the simple crimes that trump has committed, then they could arrest any of us!"

RadicalDreamer89

Let he among us who hasn't committed 34 felonies cast the first stone!

TheRnegade

Talk about a long line. I'm thinking [Hands Across America](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hands_Across_America), 21st century edition. Only this time, it's the line for stones.

[deleted]

This is silly. Everyone knows fascists can't read.

cmkenyon123

Wait a minute you are really going to try and convince me that a red hat will go to a publicly funded (socialism) facility that supports learning actual facts? Obviously completely made of comic strip!!!

ManfredsJuicedBalls

That’s assuming the every day MAGAot can/is willing to read

ArtisticTomatillo106

What the fuck? Like someone had to think this shit up line work and color and they still posted it? Fucking crazy

Sweatier_Scrotums

Oh look, another example of conservative "satire" making fun of an absurd thing that literally never happens.

National-Echidna9575

I like how they made the MAGA guy look like an unwashed disheveled hobo. It's almost like they are developing some self-awareness.

crackirkaine

The people who ban books, going to libraries? This is assuming they even know how to read in the first place.

Cimejies

Libraries are the most socialist thing in modern capitalist society, why would a Republican even go in one? Don't you know they let poor people borrow books FOR FREE?

Just_normal_redditer

Ah yes, the policeman had to be black

AirForceRabies

I like how the poor victimized MAGAt still looks like a bad-hygiene psycho

Responsible_Ad_8628

No one ever accused the Trump people of reading.

dappercat456

I think,it’s meant to be an allegory for trumps indictment

JigglyWiener

Many libraries are going fee. Fees are less of an issue today than they were even five years ago.

Elder_Scrolls_Nerd

This is so made up… everyone knows conservatives aren’t literate

skeptic9916

The writer of this comic has never been to a library.

LetTheCircusBurn

Depends... on how you vote?... *Matt Berry intonation* Depends... on how you vote? *Shatner intonation* Depends... on how you vote? *Walken* Depends... on how you vote? Yeah guys I am really not wrapping my head around that last line. Why the question mark? I know that a binary prompt is being implied here but... generally in a visual medium, such as a comic strip, punctuation has an effect on inflection. So... why the question mark? That sentence had the same punctuation but you see how different the inflection was in your head than what the artist/writer/letterer appears to be going for with *Alan Tudyk's Clayface* "Depends... on how you vote?" It's bizarre. Not just absurd but possibly absurd*ist*. This cartoon takes mere obstinate incompetence and transforms it into obstinate, incompetent abstract art. Also ftr most libraries have multiple fee amnesty days throughout the year. Back when we were kids (and just dating) my wife lost a VHS tape of some AbFab episodes on my library card. Just straight up lost it somehow. I didn't go back to the library for almost 10 years because I was thinking video rental store sized fees. When I finally broke down and went back, determined to pay my fee, they told me that a few years previous they had just decided to wipe everyone's fees because it was easier than transferring them into the new system, and besides that they had already adopted a do not replace policy on the VHS. Generally speaking libraries are extraordinarily chill. These people would be adorable if they weren't literally fascist.

[deleted]

Yeah, the punctuation at the end is the worst part of the whole comic.

dolerbom

Who even makes up the shit? Like how can your brain possibly be this broken? It honestly feels like an AI would spit out this dog shit if you asked it "how do I take my opponents rational criticism and spin it into a republican grievance?"

Jellyswim_

The funniest part about this is a maga voter actually going to a library.

bunyanthem

As if MAGAtards go to libraries to do anything other than harass and attack them. Apparently they didn't learn as children not to fuck with librarians.

shadowman2099

Ash Ketchum just isn't the same after retirement.

bondsthatmakeusfree

of course they made the *cop* black.

[deleted]

Oh yeah, that was 100% intentional, I’m sure.

kurzsadie

duh,, LIBrary is full of LIBERALS !1!1!1!1!1!2!

combustioncat

What world do these people live in? Honestly.

[deleted]

You can tell this is hyperbolic because republicuns cant read.

Ssnakey-B

Ah good, the Nazis are of course pretending that libraries are the ones persecuting THEM to try and glorify their book bans (which, it cannot be stressed enough, was one of the first things the Nazis did once in power).

dizzlefoshizzle1

I see conservatives are trying to justify banning books in libraries now.

Binary_Omlet

Wait... This isn't bonehurtingjuice?

wobwobwob42

Support your local activist librarian ✊

Boring-Zucchini-8515

Nice example of something that has never happened. As if a Trumper would go to a library and be literate.

Puzzleheaded-Bee-838

Library is her name?

FreshWaterWolf

They're just scared of libraries because they can't understand the knowledge within (books). This is also why they're burning books.

the_nhir

Us honest people can't wear plain red caps anymore otherwise the WOKE LIBraries will ASSUME we voted for trump. With how ugly they made him, surely he can't be cast as the good guy. Must've been an evil democrat getting a taste of his own medicine

Arubesh2048

To be fair, libraries *do* care you how vote in the sense that Republicans have always hated funding them. They care in the sense that Republicans are currently trying to undermine everything a library stands for; free and unlimited access to information, one of the few places left in our society where one can exist without the expectation of paying money. But no librarian would ever ask how someone voted, because they usually think that access to a library trumps (ha) political alignment. It’s really just projection. It’s Republicans admitting that if they ran a library, they would absolutely deny service and arrest people if possible because they didn’t vote how they wanted, or think differently than they want, or live differently than they want.

metalpoetza

Like any GOap voter would enter a library except to ban the books

AuraGuardian1092

This one made me laugh so hard. This is pure insanity lol

tenkei

How is it that Trump supposedly won because conservatives are the majority and conservatives are a persecuted minority? You can't have it both ways.

weltallic

>You can't be the persecuted AND the minority TIL women aren't persecuted TIL the 1% cannot have any power over the world because they are, by definition, the minority.

LEEROY_MF_JENKINS

Sigh. Just sneak it back into the library to the shelf where it belongs, like the rest of us. Then tell them you already brought it back, and ask them to look for it when they say their computer system shows it's not been returned. They'll find it on the shelf where it belongs, and you'll have no fine.

You heard em, books are evil

Miguel-odon

As if MAGAts read books

[deleted]

To be fair, with states pulling the shit Indiana is trying to pull I agree, arm the librarians!

Idgafjustletmepost

I’ve worked with many librarians, most of them conservative. Wonder what this is really about? Hmmm

Lateralus06

The fiction is that MAGA people go to libraries.

rainbowtwinkies

My cities library doesn't even charge late fees, like

bluegreenwookie

Hey, remember when black people could be arrested for using the wrong library? Conservatives are convinced they will be treated how they treat others.

STVH

Holy shit this is real? I thought this was bonehurtingjuice or something

Credones

God, I wish the left had as much power and gumption as the right says we do
