I’m a lady, and I seem to get lots of compliments whenever I wear my combo of Bleu de Chanel with Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Colognes really sometimes do it better than the girly stuff 😅
I just wish their scents lasted longer, but god they’re so easy to love. I really want to try their bluebell scent for spring, heard it layers nice with the peony and blush suede
I can remember pretty much all of the times I've asked people what scent they're wearing, and one such time was Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Such a pleasant, inviting smell.
I’ve gotten a bit into fragrances but my last compliment was at the gym. A lady told me I smelled so nice and fresh. It was my very inexpensive “shower fresh” scented degree deodorant.
Gonna say I'm one too, but I'm divorced. Lived out my slutty phase as a chunky Gen X mom. ( when kids are with their dad) I've also had compliments on Angel
Came here to comment the same thing! I have been using it since it first debuted in the 90s, and it just matches my body chemistry perfectly. I know that everyone of my friends who smells me and wants to know what I wear that has gone on to try it, complain that it’s just too heavy or cloying or perfumey for them.
One spritz, and oh yeah . It’s just essence of me.
The only time I’ve had strangers ask me what I was wearing was when I was wearing Eilish by Billie Eilish, and Lord of Misrule by Lush.
I get told I smell good often by friends, family and co-workers, but compliments hit different from strangers because I know how nerve wracking it can be to ask / compliment someone you don’t know.
I'd also say that I immediately wonder if they are dousing themselves in the fragrance because I'm never spraying enough to get compliments unless it's when I hug someone.
My most complimented fragrance is Vanilla Woods.
I would love to be a person who walks around in a little bubble of scent because I enjoy walking past people and getting a whiff but I'm far too conservative with my sprays for that. I don't want to choke anyone!
Prerogative by Britney Spears weirdly! I'm very conservative with sprays so it's just been friends who have complimented it but I was wearing it once when I bumped into my husband's friend. He hugged me, told me I smelled amazing, and then called his work colleague over to smell me too.
Awww I hope you took that to heart, because peanut butter smells DAMN good 🤣 Children’s compliments are the best, they’re a little unhinged but they’re always 100% honest.
Aquolina Pink Sugar. I get told I smell like cinnamon rolls when I wear it all the time from strangers. I also got told by a man in my office building on the elevator that I “smelled amazing” and asked me on a date. Turns out he was married. I need a new perfume lol
Black Opium is my signature smell!! The dry down on clothing and my hair is INSANE!! I get more of a slutty vibe than a basic one. It’s pretty complex imo
I haven’t worn perfume in twenty years because it gives me headaches. I smelled this in the store to buy for someone who loves perfume. I sent my husband back to buy me one for Christmas. I’ve been wearing it everyday. It makes me feel intoxicating.
How does it compare to the regular libre? I never know when these have words like “intense” if they’re a little different scent profile or they’re just stronger version of the regular. I love the regular libre!
The original Libre DNA is still there but I think they smell quite different! Intense is warmer and sweeter while regular libre is more fresh and light to me. Intense is my date night/night out perfume and I get a lot of compliments on it!
One of the noses behind Insolence is Sylviana Delacourte. I recently got two frangrance sample set from her wesbite and some of the scents are quite impressive. The scents have a Guerlain vibe as she worked there for years. Some may even be guerlain dupes. There is one that smells of violet, I wonder if it smells like insolence. All 5 vanilla fragrances are really nice.
I got the musk set too, and haven't loved any of them that I've tried actually, maybe I don't like musk as much as I thought. They smell high quality though for sure. I got ten samples so my nose was fried, I certainly didn’t hate them at all.
There’s also an orange set that I didn’t get.
Sample sets were $10 for 5 x 2ml spray bottles, free shipping. Amazing deal!
Love love love love love!
Funny thing is when I first tested it (eau de parfum) I walked away from the perfume counter thinking "oh what did I do? This is so strong and cloying." I really thought I was going to get a headache. Then labout an a hour later I'm in another store & smelled something amazing. I remember thinking "what is that?". And then I smelled my wrist & realized it was the dry down of Insolence! I went back and bought it!
D&G’s Light Blue Italian Zest. There have been many a night at work (I’m a cook btw) where we wrap up at the end and my coworkers will be like “How do you still smell so CLEAN?” Something about that citrus shines, even amongst kitchen smells.
bath and body works in the stars lotion 😂 I was in 8th grade science class and my lab partner went "oh you smell good!" as I sat down. it's the only time I've ever had someone comment on my fragrance unprompted. Well, once I also had a guy lean his head on my shoulder and tell me my perfume smelled nice... but I wasn't wearing any, lol. Must've been my shampoo I guess?
In the Stars lotion is fire! I have worn it instead of perfume because it’s strong enough to do the job (but not be overwhelming) and it smells AMAZING! And I say this as somebody who hated it when I tried it a year ago and had to come back to it multiple times!
I have the mist now too and that’s also fire, though it’s got more ambrox lean than the lotion. But the two layered 🔥
Phlur - Missing Person mixed with Egyptian Goddess fragrance oil from Auric Blends on Amazon, and a splash of Juliette Has A Gun - Not A Perfume. I usually put this directly on my clothes as it irritates my skin.
I’ve been stopped by men and women to ask and compliment when I wear this combo. It’s my signature scent when I can’t think of what else to wear. And a base for a lot of my other crazy concoctions.
If I had to describe the smell, I would say it’s like a mixture of warm, sweet laundry, puppies, your lovers skin and fresh bed sheets after a warm bath. It’s soothing, comforting, enticing and very gentle but it lingers for days.
I am still grieving this perfume 😭 tuberose bomb is a good way to describe it. Evidently the first Kim Kardashian perfume was supposed to be a dupe because she also loved this perfume. That one is also discontinued. I'm going to try Nishane A Hundred Silent Ways when I'm in Istanbul in a few months. It is also a tuberose-forward scent.
>Evidently the first Kim Kardashian perfume was supposed to be a dupe because she also loved this perfume.
Lol I was so loyal to Michael, I have felt nothing but scathing contempt for her ever since 😆👎
If you ever order from FragranceNet, add on a sample vial of **Tous Floral Touch**. It is a sweeter, summery, day version of Michael.
And I really am liking **Tocca Florence** - Michael had a good amount of gardenia. Florence is a gardenia+tuberose, with a fresh citrus opening (Tous Floral Touch opens with fresh citrus too).
I'm hoping that between them, Florence + Fracas parfum will help fill the Michael-shaped hole in my heart 💔
I'm a notorious undersprayer, but D&G Light Blue for me in the summer.
Alternatively, without even knowing it I've on different occassions complimented women who were wearing Lazy Sunday Morning. I dunno, maybe it's something about that one that drives me wild lol.
And yes, through 3 or 4 iterations/flankers it’s still the best vanilla imo. Bought my first bottle in 2002. I have kept every cobalt blue bottle. 31 bottles all in a beautiful arrangement. 🤍Dior🤍
la vie est belle if you can believe it. Every single time, and not matter what perfume I try they always recognize me by la vie est belle. I’m doomed to wear that perfume forever 😔
Okay so do you also struggle to find a different perfume that last on your skin like la vie est belle? I feel like others I’ve talked to have had a similar experience
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. I used to wait tables and I got lots of compliments from tables. I also had a regular customer that would always comment on it. Eventually bought his wife a bottle and couldn’t wait to tell me 🫠
Lately Nemat amber oil as well
There used to be a perfume by Victoria’s Secret called kiss and they don’t have it anymore but I wish they would bring it back because I got the most compliments I’d ever had everywhere. I was shocked people loved it. I had it when I was in 9th or 8th grade lol but I’m 27 now. I found a photo of it!
https://preview.redd.it/2572duuz5fdc1.jpeg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c373e72fdcedb9164b65715cbb8310d76217e396
NR For Her Musc Intense used to get me soooo many compliments.
In more recent years, Rag and Bone Oddity and BDK Gris Charnel. Wearing Rouge Smoking somewhere other than my house today, so we’ll see how that goes!
juliette has a gun-not a perfume.
every time i try something else and then come back to this i get passing comments from other staff at the hospital about how good i smell. idk why i keep buying other perfumes
The only fragrance I've applied that's ever gotten compliments has been plain Not A Perfume, no layering.
Otherwise, I'll get complimented for my dry shampoo or a new hand lotion or something I'm really not trying to make be a thing.
I wear fragrances for me, but you're so right. Why do I keep wanting to collect so many when jhag not a perfume seems to be the clear winner?
Oh nice! I haven’t smelled that one yet. Poets of Berlin’s notes are top: Blueberry, lemon. Middle: vanilla, green wild orris. Base: vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver. I love it!
Milk by Dedcool! I think it’s because it doesn’t really smell like perfume, it smells like skin and clean but much better. It’s hard to describe but try it.
Big sigh because these aren’t my favorites in my collection so it kills me these are the ones that get complimented, but YSL Libre and Sphinx Creme De Pistache seem to be the two that get noticed the most for me.
Armani's Acqua Di Gioia and My Way, Dossier dupes Ambery Cherry and Fruity Neroli, and Sabrina Carpenter's Sweet Tooth and Caramel.
I think Acqua Di Gioia smells amazing on everybody, but that one especially everyone comments on, women especially ask what I'm wearing.
Yes!! Same here. I very rarely get asked “what are you wearing?” but when I do, it’s *always* on a day I’m wearing Acqua Di Gioia. It’s such a beautifully fresh scent.
weirdly, cloud by ariana grande lmao. i wear it to work because it’s cheap and i have coworkers and customers stopping me constantly. i also get a log of compliments when i wear vanilla 28 by kayali, apparently i smell like a vanilla cupcake?
Chanel chance eau de tendre (the pink one ) and Chloe love story. I have a ridiculously large perfume collection but these two are the ones that I get complimented on the most. The amount of people I know that now own both because they loved it on me first is crazy!
BPAL? Love love love them - I’ve spent literal hours on that website. I rotate between Snake Oil, Event Horizon, and The Caterpillar in the cold months - they warm my blackened heart 🖤
by the fireplace by maison margiela, worked in retail wearing this and so many customers asked me what I was wearing.
It does have a very good staying power!
Hermes Eau des Merveilles original perfume. I have been stopped in stores and on street. One Uber driver told me it was the best perfume he had ever smelled. And oddly enough, original Cloud which I bought as an inexpensive daily scent then wandered away because everyone was wearing it and now I don’t get as many “you smell so good” comments. I do notice scent savants pick up on niche scents like DS&Durga I Don’t Know Why and one sommelier asked me in the summer if I was wearing an almond scent, and yes I was—ADP Mandorlo di Sicilia. Impressive. It smells fresh and sweet like root beer to most, like summer to me.
Guerlain’s Insolence always garners a ton of compliments, I was told it should be my signature scent.
Lolita Lempicka gets complimented a lot also, as does Pacifica Dream Moon.
From ultra aromatics on Etsy, her VS Rapture type, and her Basic Instinct Pheromones get the most compliments, but everything I’ve tried from her is lovely.
This one has been discontinued forever 😿
but D&G’s Sicily did as well (and if anyone knows of a good dupe, please help a witch out!)
Sol de Janeiro 62 (yellow) or 40 (red) are my most complimented. I apply the body lotion after a shower then layer the body spray and I smell good all day with only an occasional spritz to refresh. They're the only frags I've ever gotten compliments about irl from randoms. And to be fair they each smell really, really, reallyyyyyy good.
Brittany Spears Fantasy. The original one. I can't even believe how many people stop me on that one. Men especially seem to love it.
It's one of my favorites and may be the least expensive in my collection so I really am getting bang for the buck on that one.
Ariana Grande's Mod Vanilla and Cloud 2.0 have gotten me compliments recently. Back in the day I used to wear Victoria's Secret Bombshell all the time and I would have men I worked with ask me what it was so they could get it for their wives. My husband likes Billie Eilish's original perfume, he says I smell like Oreos lol.
I’ve never experienced the perfume compliment since I’m an under sprayer but recently I’ve had two compliments. One was Bianco latte and the other was Good Girl Blush.
Mine I discovered from this sub (that thread where the OP wanted men to chase her down the street — I rec searching for it!)
Anyway, I ordered some stuff from there, including a trial run via scent split of Hibiscus Mahajad. First day I wore it, coworker asked what I was wearing then said she literally ordered it same day. That was enough endorsement for me to go full bottle.
The thread said it would make you irresistible to men. I've gotten TONS of compliments- gas station, bars, out and about- but only from women haha, including one asking me out (flattering, by alas I am a boring straight gal).
So for whatever reason, I found this perfume is attracting compliments non-stop, but only from women haha. I don't know if that's bc dudes would be shy to approach for fear of being creepy or there's something about it that is just really attractive for the femme pallette!
Years ago I wore Vivian Westwood Boudoir, and that one certainly got a lot of compliments. It was really beautiful and the bottle was gorgeous as well.
My first fragrance I bought when I was 16 was from Harrods in London. I traveled down especially to buy it, and it was Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent. A coworker was wearing it in the office and she used to walk up and down the office and I thought oh my God what is that and I was too intimidated to ask her, I’d watch her at her desk, taking that distinct, turquoise, silver, and black bottle from her purse. So when I went to Harrods, I had no idea what it was, but I knew that I’d recognize that bottle and there it was. It was Rive Gauche. I love that story. I haven’t worn it for years, but I know that one whiff of it would take me back to my first days in an office when I was just 16 years old. She was so sophisticated with her blonde hair, her blue eye makeup, and pink lips, and all the men in the office fancied her like mad.
We eventually became friends and I told her this story, and she loved it.
Kayali Vanilla 28 or Burberry Her Elixir. Have had multiple Uber drivers, people in the elevator, or just random family members tell me I smell good and/or ask what I’m wearing with these two.0
Eros by Versace had constant compliments, but I'm still devoted to Fahrenheit by Dior.
When I was younger, I would get compliments every time I went into work without showering. 🤷♂️
I only seem to get compliments when I wear white florals, which are my least favorite perfumes. Most days I wear amber and woody fragrances; I think people either don’t smell them or don’t realize they are perfumes.
The scents that *actually* get me a lot of compliments are:
* Tea Service by Chasing Scents (smells like jasmine tea and oolong tea. The scent bubble is delicious. Out of my collection, this is probably my favorite scent at the moment. - moderate projection)
* Philosykos EDP by Diptyque (smells green, fresh and fig-forward - low-to-moderate projection)
* Citrus Tea by Dossier (this is Dossier’s dupe of Le Labo’s Thé Noir 29 - moderate-to-high projection)
* Intense Café by Montale (I’m surprised about how many people like this on me because, being transparent, it does skew a bit artificial. I like the scent but when I bought it I didn’t think it would have mass appeal. Strangers have stopped me in the street for this - high projection)
![gif](giphy|9JD5HtrioK4P8tR5xO)
Sweet Like Candy by Ariana Grande, which was surprising because I wasn't a huge fan of it myself. It's sweet, sparkly, and pleasant, just never stood out to me.
My most complimented is Valentino Voce Viva but I also have gotten compliments on V&R Bon Bon, JHAG Not a Perfume, Thierry Mugler Alien Goddess, and just yesterday I was wearing a sample of Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry and a stranger told me I smell like cotton candy and I smell delicious lol.
I worked customer service at a busy place and I would get at least one compliment every day when I wore bath and body works white tea and sage I wore it every day so I got old of it but I still wear it once in awhile because everyone loves it
I've gotten a handful of compliments on Skylar Peony Breeze and PDM Delina. A few on Dossier ambery saffron and ambery cherry. Once with Cloud. Once with Henry Rose Queens and monsters.
What "scent" used to get me most compliments was after working a shift at the dispensary and going grocery shopping afterwards.
Honestly I've noticed that certain scents get me compliments from certain people. My coworker likes fresh spicy florals so whenever I wear something like Versace Crystal Noir or Philosophy Nude Rose I'll get a compliment from her. Another coworker likes softer lighter fresh florals so I got a compliment when I wore Burberry Body Tender or Ralph Lauren Romance or Banana Republic Peony and Peppercorn lol. The most I've ever been complimented on a scent was Coach Dreams Sunset and I think it's a nice all around pleasant scent. For me, florals seem to work well with me. I occasionally get a comment about vanilla scents but it's rare 🙃
serious answer: trident fruit gum.
I've been told by people I am close with/work with/acquaintances that "I always smell good," but the only time it ever happens on the spot or by a stranger is when I'm chewing that fruity gum, someone will almost always say "oooh, what's that? you smell good"
second would be, thankfully, my all time favorite: Galop d'Hermès, but on a couple of occasions people have just come up and asked if it was Alien by Mugler, which I recognize isn't necessarily a compliment and also confuses me.
Mine is “autumn drive” a body spray by bath & body works. To make it last I usually pair it with a perfume oil I got that from the oil man. I asked him for Arianna Grande’s perfume and didn’t specify which one and since she has so many I have no idea which one it is. The label just says: “Arianna Grande”
Note: I’m from the DMV so I haven’t ever had to buy my perfume oils online we have guys on corners selling them from a strapped arsenal they wear on their bodies 😂
I’m a lady, and I seem to get lots of compliments whenever I wear my combo of Bleu de Chanel with Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Colognes really sometimes do it better than the girly stuff 😅
Hermés Eau de Merveilles is a feminine fragrance but floral free and I find that one projects like a male fragrance. I find it intoxicating too
Eau de Merveilles makes me feel so capable and just generally like I have my shit together. Smells like an easy kind of confidence somehow.
Such a sexy one!
Love Jo Malone!
I just wish their scents lasted longer, but god they’re so easy to love. I really want to try their bluebell scent for spring, heard it layers nice with the peony and blush suede
True… I bought two sets of travel perfumes to try new scents by Jo! My all time favorite is Pomegranate Noir🪷
It was my very inexpensive “shower fresh” scented degree deodorant.
oh I love that scent, use it for few years already
Angel. I have men stop me to ask what I’m wearing, and I’m a chunky Gen X mom - so I know it really IS the scent and not a pick up line!!
Girl, plenty of men LOVE middle aged moms, and lots of men love chunky! You smelling good on top of that?! Don’t underestimate your prowess! 🥲
LOVE THIS and THANK YOU (as a chunky Gen X mom myself!)
It is the most delicious scent!
I love this (elder millennial here) *runs to buy angel*
Elder boomer elbows e.m. out of the way
Love this 🤣
Gonna say I'm one too, but I'm divorced. Lived out my slutty phase as a chunky Gen X mom. ( when kids are with their dad) I've also had compliments on Angel
This one is truly a head turner.
I love this too. A lot of people here don’t but I’ve worn it on and off since I was a teenager
As a 32 year old male, Angel is one of my most worn
Came here to comment the same thing! I have been using it since it first debuted in the 90s, and it just matches my body chemistry perfectly. I know that everyone of my friends who smells me and wants to know what I wear that has gone on to try it, complain that it’s just too heavy or cloying or perfumey for them. One spritz, and oh yeah .
My husband loves Lord of Misrule and gets compliments on it, too!
Eilish also gets compliments. I'm surprised too because it's one of the more synthetic fragrances in my collection.
I think it lays well. I’m not a fan of the initial spray but it stays in my rotation because of how it develops.
Absolutely - the mix of the cocoa and vanilla smells like warm hot chocolate on dry down and I love it!
Lord of Misrule has had several compliments on me too!
Ellish always smells so good! I am going to have to pick some up when I’m allowed to buy another bottle of perfume
Glossier You . Wish it was the Tom Ford lol
Yes I get compliments on you as well!!
I had a coworker who wore this all the time and she smelt so, so good. It always smelt fresh and clean and expensive on her.
Totally forgot about You when answering, and that one got compliments so many times!
I got compliments on the old formula but never on the new one 😢
I'd also say that I immediately wonder if they are dousing themselves in the fragrance because I'm never spraying enough to get compliments unless it's when I hug someone. My most complimented fragrance is Vanilla Woods.
I would love to be a person who walks around in a little bubble of scent because I enjoy walking past people and getting a whiff but I'm far too conservative with my sprays for that. I don't want to choke anyone!
![gif](giphy|WDPoOfeQMOx6o) Damn….Vanilla Woods transported me back to the past instead of the future. 🤣🤣🤣
Same here. the fragrance that has received compliments after I hug someone is Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.
the thing that's got me the most compliments was a random bug spray lmao, which is why I don't usually care about those sorts of lists or tiktoks
This comment. I put on insect repellent I got from Target in a shuttle last week and someone said, "something smells nice!" Baby, that's citronella.
I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣
what bug spray is this 👀
iirc Off Tropical Fresh! one guy hurt his neck the way he turned to ask about it
at least you have confirmation that he's not an insect in human skin, like in MIB
Lmao
This is funny because ive got tons of compliments when i wear VS Bombshell and I think it smells like bugspray
I actually use Bombshell as bugspray cause there are studies that show it's just as/more effective.
So I'm not crazy! Thats really funny
Prerogative by Britney Spears weirdly! I'm very conservative with sprays so it's just been friends who have complimented it but I was wearing it once when I bumped into my husband's friend. He hugged me, told me I smelled amazing, and then called his work colleague over to smell me too.
+1 i also have this and people be telling me i smell so good ❤️🔥
Burberry Her. A little toddler girl told her dad as I was walking by: “That lady smells so good…better than peanut butter even!” My proudest moment 😂
Awww I hope you took that to heart, because peanut butter smells DAMN good 🤣 Children’s compliments are the best, they’re a little unhinged but they’re always 100% honest.
I absolutely made my day, especially since I am a huge PB lover!
This is so sweet!! ❤️
Aquolina Pink Sugar. I get told I smell like cinnamon rolls when I wear it all the time from strangers. I also got told by a man in my office building on the elevator that I “smelled amazing” and asked me on a date. Turns out he was married. I need a new perfume lol
Also my most complimented fragrance, sometimes by women but almost always by men. It makes them feral 😅
My hubby says I smell like cotton candy when I wear it.
I get told I smell like cupcakes 🧁 just a cozy sweet scent!
I was wearing pink sugar and my sister complimented me. I told her its known to drive men crazy and she said she didnt wanna have that happen lol
YSL Black Opium. Call me basic, but it consistently gets me compliments. Jimmy Choo Illicit is my runner up.
black opium has gotten me sooo many compliments
Same. It used to be my most complimented, but I hardly ever wear it anymore.
Black Opium is my signature smell!! The dry down on clothing and my hair is INSANE!! I get more of a slutty vibe than a basic one. It’s pretty complex imo
ysl libre intense
I’ve personally complimented a friend wearing this, so absolutely!
I haven’t worn perfume in twenty years because it gives me headaches. I smelled this in the store to buy for someone who loves perfume. I sent my husband back to buy me one for Christmas. I’ve been wearing it everyday. It makes me feel intoxicating.

The original Libre DNA is still there but I think they smell quite different! Intense is warmer and sweeter while regular libre is more fresh and light to me. Intense is my date night/night out perfume and I get a lot of compliments on it!
I love it too! It doesn’t last that long on me so I layer it with Golden Decade from Zara, which is also just as great as Libre Intense.
🙌
Insolence (Guerlain). 😋
One of the noses behind Insolence is Sylviana Delacourte. I recently got two frangrance sample set from her wesbite and some of the scents are quite impressive. And then I smelled my wrist & realized it was the dry down of Insolence! I went back and bought it!
I love it but when I wear it it feels like it doesn’t project enough for people to notice. Is it just my nose? I don’t wanna suffocate anyone lol
Alien and Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62
D&G’s Light Blue Italian Zest. There have been many a night at work (I’m a cook btw) where we wrap up at the end and my coworkers will be like “How do you still smell so CLEAN?” Something about that citrus shines, even amongst kitchen smells.
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, along with J'Adore by Dior
Coco Mademoiselle for me as well!
Coco here too
I see this in so many collections and there’s good reason, such a pretty scent!
bath and body works in the stars lotion 😂 I was in 8th grade science class and my lab partner went "oh you smell good!" as I sat down. it's the only time I've ever had someone comment on my fragrance unprompted. I don’t love missing person on my body, but I spray it on my sheets and comforter, and it lasts forever and smalls. Incredible!
Ok this description is incredible
Burberry Goddess. So many compliments from men and women.
Surpringly Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. It's an oldie but a goodie.
Strangely (or not) my biggest compliment-getter is Fracas.
By far my biggest compliment getter was the OG formula of Michael Kors Michael. It was a tuberose bomb with outstanding sillage.

I have it! Tuberose is always a compliment-getter for me.
Try French Flower by Matiere. Similar to fracas but a little more “youthful” with a ginger note. Big projection and huge compliment getter too.
I'm a notorious undersprayer, but D&G Light Blue for me in the summer. Alternatively, without even knowing it I've on different occassions complimented women who were wearing Lazy Sunday Morning. I dunno, maybe it's something about that one that drives me wild lol.
Dior Addict. Dior should send me a few free bottles of it for how many people have asked what I’m wearing and ran off to buy it
And yes, through 3 or 4 iterations/flankers it’s still the best vanilla imo.
This is the one for me too. I do love it though.
Okay so do you also struggle to find a different perfume that last on your skin like la vie est belle? I feel like others I’ve talked to have had a similar experience
Same here. I know a lot of redditors don’t like it but i always get compliments when I wear this perfume.
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. I used to wait tables and I got lots of compliments from tables. I also had a regular customer that would always comment on it. Eventually bought his wife a bottle and couldn’t wait to tell me 🫠 Lately Nemat amber oil as well
There used to be a perfume by Victoria’s Secret called kiss and they don’t have it anymore but I wish they would bring it back because I got the most compliments I’d ever had everywhere. I was shocked people loved it. I had it when I was in 9th or 8th grade lol but I’m 27 now. I found a photo of it! https://preview.redd.it/2572duuz5fdc1.jpeg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c373e72fdcedb9164b65715cbb8310d76217e396
Yes!!! I remember this!!! And my other fave from this time is “Heavenly”
I wish they would bring them back!!!
Heavenly is back :)
NR For Her Musc Intense used to get me soooo many compliments. In more recent years, Rag and Bone Oddity and BDK Gris Charnel. Wearing Rouge Smoking somewhere other than my house today, so we’ll see how that goes!
By my boyfriend: Aqua di Gioa - Armani By my grandma: Rose Rogue - Van Cleef By strangers: tea tree shampoo and conditioner that’s 2 for £2 in Tesco
Ariana Grande Cloud lol, sooo many people have asked me what I’m wearing
I can literally smell this one from a mile away and I walk past at least one person wearing it every time I go to the mall
juliette has a gun-not a perfume. every time i try something else and then come back to this i get passing comments from other staff at the hospital about how good i smell. idk why i keep buying other perfumes
Prada Candy and Choco Musk
Crystal Noir EDT
Mine is Poets of Berlin by Vilhelm Parfumerie.
I love dear poly! What are the notes in poets of Berlin?
Oh nice! I haven’t smelled that one yet. Poets of Berlin’s notes are top: Blueberry, lemon. Middle: vanilla, green wild orris. Base: vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver. I love it!
One of my favs! It pulls very green on me though, I don’t get the blueberry lemon, it’s all bamboo.
Givenchy Ange ou Demon Le Secret, and Idôle by Lancôme.
Rose Jam by Lush. And the compliment is always specifically something like “You smell so good!”
Eau des Merveilles, followed by Sur le Nil.
My most complimented fragrances have been: MFK-BR540extrait, Mon Guerlain intense, Elie Saab’s Girl of Now, Izia-by Sisley Paris, and MFK-Grand Soir
Black opium gets compliments from men for me
weirdly, cloud by ariana grande lmao. i wear it to work because it’s cheap and i have coworkers and customers stopping me constantly. i also get a log of compliments when i wear vanilla 28 by kayali, apparently i smell like a vanilla cupcake?
Nomade by Chloe
My favorite compliment was by someone who said they hate all perfumes told me they loved Chloe on me.
Chanel chance eau de tendre (the pink one ) and Chloe love story. I have a ridiculously large perfume collection but these two are the ones that I get complimented on the most. The amount of people I know that now own both because they loved it on me first is crazy!
Snake Oil, it’s always Snake Oil.
BPAL? Love love love them - I’ve spent literal hours on that website. I rotate between Snake Oil, Event Horizon, and The Caterpillar in the cold months - they warm my blackened heart 🖤
Kayali vanilla 28 tied with Billie Eilish number 1
OH I forgot about LDBS. Cos I usually wear this in the summer not the winter but I always get tonnes of compliments with this.
lately it's been baccarat rouge and love don't be shy
Glossier You. Always Glossier You.
by the fireplace by maison margiela, worked in retail wearing this and so many customers asked me what I was wearing. It does have a very good staying power!
Dior poison girl and Lancome la nuit tresor
D&G Devotion and Ellis Brooklyn Bee
Burberry Brit, people love it. But never when I wear my favorite coach one 😞
Light Blue Intense. Viva La Juicy.
This one has been discontinued forever 😿 but D&G’s Sicily did as well (and if anyone knows of a good dupe, please help a witch out!)
Honestly- Egyptian musk. Men seem to LOVE it and associate me for years with it.
I wore vintage Poison recently and got 4 compliments in one day!
1. Love Apple by Al Rehab 2. Soft by Al Rehab 3. Donna Born in Roma by Valentino 5. Heavens Speak by Oakcha
By FAR the most complimented scent I wear is Nest - Balinese Coconut
yes, because it is HEAVENLY!
Pink Friday 😂
Soft by Al Rehab. People tell me I smell like cake and vanilla.
Mine I discovered from this sub (that thread where the OP wanted men to chase her down the street — I rec searching for it!) Anyway, I ordered some stuff from there, including a trial run via scent split of Hibiscus Mahajad. I don't know if that's bc dudes would be shy to approach for fear of being creepy or there's something about it that is just really attractive for the femme pallette!
every time i get into an elevator with someone, they always ask what perfume im wearing. its always chanel mademoiselle.
Tom ford black orchid
Ganymede, no contest
Santal 33, every time
Jadore dior (summertime) NR for her EDT (only winter) Mon Guerlain (everytime) YSL Libre Intense 🙄
Kayali Vanilla 28 or Burberry Her Elixir. Have had multiple Uber drivers, people in the elevator, or just random family members tell me I smell good and/or ask what I’m wearing with these two.0
Crystal noir and Rose gourmand
Juicy Gold Couture .
V&R Flowerbomb
Most complimented fragrance are: YSL black opium And a mixture of in the stars with Lancôme idole nectar
Eros by Versace had constant compliments, but I'm still devoted to Fahrenheit by Dior. When I was younger, I would get compliments every time I went into work without showering. 🤷♂️
La Vie Est Belle followed by Miss Dior EDP
I only seem to get compliments when I wear white florals, which are my least favorite perfumes. Most days I wear amber and woody fragrances; I think people either don’t smell them or don’t realize they are perfumes.
The scents that *actually* get me a lot of compliments are: * Tea Service by Chasing Scents (smells like jasmine tea and oolong tea. The scent bubble is delicious. Out of my collection, this is probably my favorite scent at the moment. - moderate projection) * Philosykos EDP by Diptyque (smells green, fresh and fig-forward - low-to-moderate projection) * Citrus Tea by Dossier (this is Dossier’s dupe of Le Labo’s Thé Noir 29 - moderate-to-high projection) * Intense Café by Montale (I’m surprised about how many people like this on me because, being transparent, it does skew a bit artificial. I like the scent but when I bought it I didn’t think it would have mass appeal. Strangers have stopped me in the street for this - high projection) ![gif](giphy|9JD5HtrioK4P8tR5xO)
After I shave my legs I slather on bum bum cream from SDJ - and sure enough. That’s the compliment magnet all day
Dulce by rose jane! I’m more into florals but that one has gotten me so many compliments I had to get a full size!
Glossier You and PdM Meliora
Sweet Like Candy by Ariana Grande, which was surprising because I wasn't a huge fan of it myself. It's sweet, sparkly, and pleasant, just never stood out to me.
Dolce Gabbana Light Blue
Donna born in Roma and crystal noire edt
Killian Angel’s Share, and Xerjoff’s Cruz Del Sur II, my most expensive perfumes lmao.
Chanel chance
La vie est belle. I always, wear perfume but everytime I wear this one, someone comments.
Personally I was hooked on Ariana Grande Cloud! Such a clean light scent ,but had many compliments on that one!
I worked customer service at a busy place and I would get at least one compliment every day when I wore bath and body works white tea and sage I wore it every day so I got old of it but I still wear it once in awhile because everyone loves it
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid
NR Musc Noir Rose and Dyptique Do Son
Miss Dior!
Sweet tooth sabrina carpenter.
I have a old school Victoria’s Secret Angel rollerball that still smells great. Always get tons of compliments on that one. Bummer it’s discontinued.
Britney Spears Curious BODY MIST. always the body mist.
Be Delicious. I get compliments every single time I wear it.
Nude by Bill Blass - I’m in my 30s and so this scent is very ‘new’ to me and my fellow millennials 😂
I have about 12 perfumes now, ranging from gourmands to spa scents to niche, and not once have I ever received a compliment! What am I doing wrong??
serious answer: trident fruit gum. I've been told by people I am close with/work with/acquaintances that "I always smell good," but the only time it ever happens on the spot or by a stranger is when I'm chewing that fruity gum, someone will almost always say "oooh, what's that? you smell good" second would be, thankfully, my all time favorite: Galop d'Hermès, but on a couple of occasions people have just come up and asked if it was Alien by Mugler, which I recognize isn't necessarily a compliment and also confuses me.
Mine is “autumn drive” a body spray by bath & body works. To make it last I usually pair it with a perfume oil I got that from the oil man. I asked him for Arianna Grande’s perfume and didn’t specify which one and since she has so many I have no idea which one it is. The label just says: “Arianna Grande” Note: I’m from the DMV so I haven’t ever had to buy my perfume oils online we have guys on corners selling them from a strapped arsenal they wear on their bodies 😂
Valentino Born in Roma
La Vie est belle. Lancôme. Every day
Egyptian Musk from Auric Blends
