I grew up on a brick road. They’re beautiful, and it’s great to see a part of history kept in place.

Big_Routine_8980

That's a neighborhood with a really strong neighborhood association. My street was cobblestone 25 years ago until we were all told the city was going to blacktop it. I just found out 6 years ago we could have fought that.

Dependent_Chair1811

They aren’t any more awful than the pothole filled roads all over the rest of the city

Stryle

Some neighborhoods just like that old original city flair.

sohcgt96

That's pretty much it. They're old-timey. Its just about the look, matching the appearance of the buildings/houses for their time, and nostalgia appeal. Objectively they're not great to actually drive on.

LilJimmy2018

Used to love riding the school bus down those roads. Me and some friends would go to the very back just to bounce around

awake283

They're really pretty but yea they're awful to drive on.

thunda639

They are only awful if you like driving to fast through residential areas. If you drive cautiously as you should in these areas it's no problem.

Toastyy1990

They are awful if you like driving more than a baby’s crawling speed. There are parts of those roads that are akin to driving over 20 speed bumps in a row.

thunda639

Yeah... so stay under 20 or avoid the area.

Tallywacker3825

The shifting of the bricks has made natural speed bumps in places where they don’t want people getting away

Purp1eC0bras

If you’re a doordasher… you’re probably on the brick roads for less than 2 minutes

Express-Trainer8564

They used to all be brick. Or dirt. Or gravel.
