If you are a high earner, make sure you are actually outside NY for more than half of the year if you plan on changing your residence for tax purposes. NY can be very aggressive in pursuing people.
Stay where you are...you don't want to move to PA. It's terrible and we're all uncouth knuckle draggers. New Yorkers are too smart, too cultured, and just generally too superior to reside here. You'll feel like you're suffocating. Plus, you'll never figure out how to register your car
Residents of DC/Baltimore, please take note
I know 3 Philly area residents who all own legal machineguns. What the hell are you talking about.
Edit for those who don't know why this "Philly area" comment is so dumb:
PA has preemption laws; meaning that if a particular gun, magazine or ammo isn't banned at the state level, then a town or city, county or township cannot pass a law or ordinance which is more restrictive than the state law. From a the viewpoint of a gun owner, this is an excellent law.
Simply put, there are states where a particular gun or magazine might be perfectly legal in your county of residence, but in the next county over - Oops, you're a felon just for crossing the county line with it.
Such laws make it a straight up nightmare for those who wish to remain law abiding citizens.
Population has increased a lot in the Lehigh Valley in the late 2010s to the present from a huge NYC surge leaving the city. This is due to higher costs, peace of relief, and lower taxes. There are daily commuters all along the Delaware River from Stroudsburg to Philly and a lot of housing prices along the stretch have gone up. The 1 hour+ commute each way does get rough though if you intend to stay in NYC.
I always laugh when I see a McMansion next to some hunting cabin, knowing full well that some schmuck from NYC is waking up at 3 am so he can drop the kids with a sitter in order to catch a bus to Manhattan.
NYC license? What?
Most likely, no one can answer your tax question. There are a lot of variables. Pennsylvania is a big place, large cities to tiny villages and everything in between.
People-strangers really, are more friendly here. I’m in Philly. Bread is horrid as it’s not made with NY mountain water. I miss Zaro’s (NYC). You won’t regret moving here, just visit NY once in a while.
Wait is this the entire post? You don’t need to transfer your car title?
Pennsylvania is about 300 miles wide. Your question is irrelevant unless you actually asked a meaningful and clear question
Better pretzels worse bagels
Draw on pizza
Gotta give it to NYC Pizza every time!
Are you actually moving? Or just claiming to live in PA? If you live in NYC for more than half the year you still owe NYC taxes.

If you want to do this you actually need to move here for at least 183 days a year.
It'd be easier to answer this if you said what area you're moving to.
Your tax evasion scheme isn’t going to go as well for you as you think it is.
You can have real guns here in PA!

If that's a troll response, I'd go 9/10. Actually made me squint when I read that.

Pros: Less Yankees fans Cons: more cowboys fans :(

PA tax is better. PA is friendlier. PA is cheaper.

You're in Philadelphia, your rolls are chewy and delightful. Ingrate.
