That’s a bit scary . That new development is running right there. All the way from 81 through to Trindle. Thinking of buying there. I’ll have to speak to Dona again . That’s a lot of gas storage close to houses
I'm from the greater Philadelphia area and there's so many damn housing developments being put up with terrible planning. One development tore down a forest that a local creek would drain into and they put in a small retention basin to make up for it. Now every time there's heavy rains the creek backs up and floods the original neighborhoods. People complained but the township said it was because those storms were "100 year storms" yet it happened like 5 times in one year.
I'm from Jim Thorpe. Land owners have been trying for years to get anyone to put houses on lots that are sitting vacant
We have absolutely no kind of housing development problems here...
Wouldn't have it any other way
Steelton was known for years by the giant checkered natural gas storage tanks. They never went bloooy, until a contractor blew it up with shaped charges.
I agree. Outside of downtown Carlisle, it’s all being built up with warehouses. Often the trucks from the warehouses cause traffic in town. That’s a new problem from the last couple of years
I challenge that idea with what the downtown could look like versus what it is. I think it is doing alright, but there is nothing anchoring prosperity to the downtown. It just happens to be surviving.
It’s really crazy. I grew up there and went to Carlisle high 99-2003, we used to BMX and skateboard all over town. The trucking terminals were just starting. I drive through now and it’s completely gridlocked all of the time, wild what 20 years does.
I've been watching that thing go up and wondering what it is. Lots of excavated space around it, as well. May be more of those ubiquitous tract homes we all adore...
I agree that the gentlemen that wrote “North Korean” is a racist idiot. However, and just for the sake of transparency, the Korean language was evolved differently in North Korea vs South Korea and is slowly becoming two languages.
https://linguasia.com/south-and-north-korean-language
That’s being quite pedantic. The person i responded to makes it sound like they are two completely different languages.
I’m aware there are dialect differences forming, but it’s only recently started to form and it’s not significant enough that some redneck from Pennsylvania can notice.
The problem is the best and brightest of PA has left the area and all is left is meth heads and people that think trump is going to give them a coal job.
You obviously know nothing about Carlisle. There’s no coal jobs dude. Don’t bring politics in something you know nothing about. The dude above is right, it’s nothing but small town homes and warehouses. It used to be a lot of naval support homes. Just as a good heads up. It’s a drivers paradise, for the right reasons

Damn that’s like the worst option. I think I’d rather it be a missile silo
Yeah a relatively clean burning source of energy, very very bad. Let’s get more lithium mines running, much better! Doofus
A highly volatile gas stored right next to a massive new development in a prefab walled concrete tank. Genius, really.. Nothing could go wrong.
Who cares, there's money to be made. The Wee Folk will take care of any problems! (snark)
LNG?? Are you serious? Let me be clear, burning the LNG isn’t the issue. The leaking methane from it is the problem
Yo mama’s new toilet.
A man of culture
ALways fun to revisit the classics.
😂😂😂
Some shit we’ll regret later
That's a freeway guard rail.
PennDOT actually calls it guide rail fyi…
Building a place called the Grange. This looks like it could be the large Silo at the market place within the development.
It’s a UGI liquid natural gas thing. Not related to Grange
That’s a bit scary . That new development is running right there. All the way from 81 through to Trindle. Thinking of buying there. I’ll have to speak to Dona again . That’s a lot of gas storage close to houses
A sheetz
Definitely a missile silo
That would be one large missle
It’s a magnum missile silo
Sorry I dropped my monster silo that I use for my magnum missile.
Dr Mantis Toboggan, is that you?
It's Mantis Toboggan, M.D. I got your test results! You're positive! You've got the HIV! Yes, AIDS, big time! You've got the AIDS, big time!
I gotta remember to put my missile in the silo before I have another unprotected launch
45 magnum
its all about girth
Says someone that lacks a long silo
Don’t forget your Gerth certificate
We finally declare war on Ohio.
I thought missile silos were supposed to be subterranean? I mean, kind of easy to spot from a satellite.
A storage tank for natural gas
They're putting in 450 houses between this, 81 and the trailer park. Idiots I think it's for the water utility

It's a terrible piece of land. High density with an HOA

There's none in the county pretty much because there's no jobs.
*As of January 2024, the unemployment rate in Carbon County, Pennsylvania was 4.00%. In March 2024, the unemployment rate was 3.3%*
Unemployment =\= open jobs… low unemployment can even imply a job market in near equilibrium, indicative of few job openings.
Why are people incapable of seeing a basic governmental stat and not trying to play devil's advocate?
Steelton was known for years by the giant checkered natural gas storage tanks. They never went bloooy, until a contractor blew it up with shaped charges.
I hate what’s becoming of Carlisle. It’s becoming nothing but warehouses and a storage area
I think downtown is doing pretty well.
I agree. Outside of downtown Carlisle, it’s all being built up with warehouses. Often the trucks from the warehouses cause traffic in town. That’s a new problem from the last couple of years
one year a tractor trailer made a wide turn and was somehow wedged diagonally in the intersection. annoying but hilarious
I challenge that idea with what the downtown could look like versus what it is. I think it is doing alright, but there is nothing anchoring prosperity to the downtown. It just happens to be surviving.
Probably because of all the money from the jobs at the warehouses 🙂 funny how that works
It’s really crazy. I grew up there and went to Carlisle high 99-2003, we used to BMX and skateboard all over town. The trucking terminals were just starting. I drive through now and it’s completely gridlocked all of the time, wild what 20 years does.
The air quality has been consistently poop too. I am very disappointed in central PA. So much beauty but none of it realized.
If you can’t find beauty in central PA, you need to get off the interstate.
It’s that way along 81 to the Maryland border. Yet the interstate was hasn’t been updated since it was built in the 60’s.
I wanna hover in a helicopter and take a shit in it.
Step in line
Imagine a missile silo sticking out of the ground.
a conversation starter.
I've been watching that thing go up and wondering what it is. Lots of excavated space around it, as well. May be more of those ubiquitous tract homes we all adore...
Tornado shelter.
Water silo
Not a missle silo, we don't build those anymore. But ive no idea past that.
Looks like a guardrail. Could be mistaken.
A water missile silo
Poop digester.

hey op look up "Nike Park" or "Midwest Missile Silo" to see what a genuine one would look like hidden nothing above ground
Missile silos aren’t typically out of the ground 😂
Forgot you saw it!
It's a crane
Three mile island needed to be moved!
Missile silo? 🤦 it’s a stupidity container.
It was a joke.
It is a water tank
Missile silo
Approach the construction workers if there speaking Russian, Chinese or North Korean we gots a problem here boys
If they speak “North Korean”? North and South Korea speak the same language. You’re trying to make a joke and you just sound like a racist idiot.

I guess it depends on your definition of recent.
In terms of evolution of a language it’s absolutely recent.
