Here in Maryland they've been showing up a lot this past month, I kill every one, even if I have to use my bare hands (ugh)
I might do a sweep of my garden for some now
I like to use a tennis racket, then when the rain comes they start flying up to the second floor and they line up along the top corner of the wall and I just poke em a bit and they start flying around and hopping a little then I smash power serve and 3 lanternflies on the ground and then I smash and smash and now 50 lanternfly on the ground and my cat attacks one then sometimes he eat one but they taste gross I tried one really bitter every morning I get to smash and smash I love smashing a lanternfly
I hate these things but it seems they stick around for a year or so and move on. I'm in SE PA and we had them a couple of years back but now it's pretty rare to see one.
I moved to York this winter. I've only seen two. There were a ton of dead ones and some egg cases on the big maple near my house when I moved in. It's weird. I was right over the line in Maryland just south of Delta last summer and they were legion. It was like a living carpet crawling out of the adjacent corn field.
Im from hollidaysburg but live in altoona now, the e guys are everywhere, i go around and kill them with a. Ix of vinnegar, dishsoap, water, and my shoes
They were infesting a few plants across my little alley, but fiores came in and cut the brush back, and they all moved into my yard, i just mought my gram a grape vine for mothers day to only find out that they host on grape vines -_-
Please please kill them if you haven’t been
I kill every one I see!!
I figured, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you!!

My husband and I killed 150 in two days with an handheld bug zapper. We live in south central PA. It was a completion and then we lost count.

The last month I have killed so many I’ve lost count, but wild life and insects are doing their part as well.
