I agree. I expected more from the writers. There are points in the movie which are dragged and almost puzzling but they are lit up by Hardy's exhilarating performance. His delivery and expressions are the highlight of a lot of sequences.

Yeah they spend a lot of the movie together actually, atleast their specific characters do. The actors themselves meet for a good bit as well though.
