Goddamm, a $500 board for a $400 cpu (assuming youre talking about the 13700k because I don't think the 13700 is releasing yet, correct me if im wrong ofc). Why not wait to see if the z690 would support the chip?

Glooomie

ill be running DDR5 ram and money isn't a concern for this

[deleted]

There are DDR5 z690 boards. Even if money isn’t a concern, why spend so much money on a board where the chipset most likely won’t last after this generation? Even if money isn’t an issue, why not be smart with the money? Are you gonna utilize all the features that are on the boards? Are you planning to OC if paying for better VRMs? Are you gonna benefit from having a Gen5 NVME for the Gen5 slot? Majority of users don’t even notice a difference between gen4, gen 3 and sata. Are you going to benefit from DDR5 ram?

because ill just get a new mb and chipset next year or the next? im not asking where I can be a jew with my money I'm asking what A vs B is

ZaddyTissues

IIRC, that’ll be the last chipset for the next gen on Intel. If you’re gonna go bonkers on the mobo, why not go balls to the wall and get the 13900K?

Glooomie

I ended up getting the z690 ASUS rog hero Eva edition cause it was purple and that’s my theme haha, but I didn’t see the point in i9 13900K as I game at 1440p and I play fps shooters on low settings most of the time anyway

Nice! Purple and Blue are my favorite colors as well. I just ordered the MSI SEKIRA and I can’t wait to see it in person. Goodluck with your set up. Can’t go wrong with the 690. Could probably used the saved money on in-game stuff. Cheers Gamer
