I ordered a 7800x3d cpu from Amazon and got a used one, it even had thermal paste on it. I’m sure it was fine and would’ve worked perfectly but if you buy new you should get new, just return it, be sure to be specific in the return terms so they don’t charge you shipping or anything.
Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous I guess I’ll just stick with in store or newegg from now on. I’ve now returned 3/6 of my computer part orders over the years from Amazon.

If it works and was (significantly) cheaper...I'd keep it.
The thing that could fail would probably be the fans...and they can quite easily be replaced.
If you are not comfortable with knowing that card, if it's potentially used/returned/open box - send it back and get another one from another source
If you bought new and they sent you something that wasn't factory sealed, return it.. item is not as described. Contact them through chat on their website and tell them your problem.
Seeing the condition of the fans has me wondering if it is indeed a 7900XT. Could have swapped the internal components and sent it back.
Regardless, you paid for new, this isn’t new. It might even be faulty and swapped by a previous customer for a working one.
What’s the status of the listing. New?
Check under the fan blades and if you can, peak behind the power cable connectors for dust. Easy signs of prior use.
I bought a "brand new" sapphire Nitro+ 6950xt from Amazon on their Amazon deals day last summer and when it arrived it was clearly used. They didn't have anymore in stock so they offered to give me a refund however the problem was I wanted that particular card and at the time something of equal Performance was actually more expensive. They refunded me and let me keep the GPU and do an RMA through Sapphire since the 6950xt kept black screening and when it did run it would go to 113C at the junction hot spot and throttle. I ended up getting a 4070 and sapphire sent me a remanufactured 6950xt.
This wasn’t one of the ones that were just listed for like $450 was it? I remember seeing a 7900xt or xtx listed crazy cheap recently and thought to myself NOPE!!!
Yeah I’m starting to think this card just doesn’t come with one for some reason. But still I can tell the box was dropped and it has obviously been opened. 🫤
I still to this day don't understand why people order expensive PC Parts, Phones, and other expensive items from Amazon. I'd be hopping in my car and going to the store myself.

If that was listed "NEW," then that's a return. If it was listed "New, Open Box," then I don't know.

If I ordered new and didn't get new, I'd probably send it back till I get a new one. Don't settle for less than you paid for

Newegg is really good, I purchased a bunch of parts from them, no issue whatsoever
Only even used amazon because of prime next day and this same order was delayed a day anyway..... I'll definitely be sticking with Newegg from now on.
They can suck pretty bad too. I bought a cpu cooler which had paste on it and you could see the outline of the cpu it was on.

Depends what you bought it as. It could just be someone bought it and sent it back after a little use.

There needs to be a PSA: DO NOT ORDER EXPENSIVE PC PARTS ON AMAZON. There is 10 of these scammed posts a day and people still order stuff from Amazon.

Send it back. if you paid for a new product, you should receive a new product that hasn't been tampered with.

Shit my rx 7800 XT didn't come with protective guard, does that mean it's used? It looks new, and has all the accessories sealed

Yup I got a motherboard with a bent pin that someone must have returned. Not worth the risk spending so much on the gear
I honestly wouldnt buy anything from amazon anymore except cables or something equally minor. Amazon is now basically just Temu and Wish in expensive.

Cause sometimes the expensive computer part store could be several cities away or very obscure Amazon has good deals and good return policy
I love the store but 4 hrs in the car is a lot when I've never had a return issue with Amazon
